  1. Best reason EVER!!!!
  2. Alternator is likely going to fail soon.
  3. Hell of a good job tracking that problem down, buddy! Kudos, sir!
  4. Nuff said... Run it till it dies and junk it
  5. You could definitely get a few hundred out of the 4.8 if there's nothing wrong with it. Record a video of it before you pull it.I like the idea of throwing a few mods at it while it's pulled, that and a tune will be quite noticable!
  6. Certainly not worth the money/time/effort unless you've got to replace it for another reason in the first place.
  7. Hell, that's worth a swap in my opinion!lol For the record, depending on the year/version it's about 40 lb-ft
  8. I had a 4.8 that was leaking coolant into the oil... I was short on cash at the time and couldn't upgrade the trans too so I swapped in a junkyard 5.3. Used the intake and everything that came on the 5.3... Didn't even change the tune. Fired up on the first try and has been running for 3 years. Power difference is SLIGHTLY noticeable, would likely be better with a tune... But now I have the 6.0L itch... So...
  9. Hey... If it works, it works!
  10. I replaced my lid a few months ago with the same replacement. I've not seen the foam sold separately but it shouldn't be too bad to replace with any type of upholstry foam like Chris said... I would gladly send you mine.... but uh... I got pissed and threw it out the window one night.... long story.
  11. I would have given them $1000 for it just for the parts!
  12. ... And the dealer they took it in to trade offered them $1000 for it and they took it! Wow... http://www.truckinweb.com/webonly/1501_like_a_rock_2003_chevrolet_silverado_still_going_at_790000_miles/
  13. Got her cleaned up today, gotta LOVE this southern weather! I think the 2" rear drop is just about right! Sorry for the crummy cell phone pic...
  14. This thread gave me the motivation (as well as the 60+ degree temps outside today) to get off my arse and put my rear drop shackles in. I used McGaughys 2" drop shackles (33037) that I bought back in November... I've been having a random no start / no crank condition that was getting worse on cold mornings, so I got that sorted out (it turned out to be the starter). I also changed the oil, So I'm enjoying a much deserved beer! The sun went down before I got the chance to wash it, but the high tomorrow is supposed to be 61, so I'll get it then.
