I don't have DFM but still have start/stop.

My 2018 5.3 made that same exact sound as my 2021 5.3.

Build date 10/21 and no DFM. I only have 1100 miles on the truck though. So far so good. Fingers crossed...

Just checked. I have 60 & 67 and DFM is not installed on my 21.

2021 X31. I have 485 miles on the OD. Does anybody else's front suspension pop or creak while putting it into reverse and turning the front wheel?

Yup as mentioned above. No more heated/cooled seats either for 2022. My new SLT (build date 10/21) has no backup sensors, side mirror indicators or DFM; but I still have start/stop. GM's gotta do what it has to do in order to sell their vehicles.

My 2021 is one of the 2021's that does not have DFM. It's in V8 mode all the time. I wonder if I'll be good?

So, I've had my 21 SLT X31 for 3 weeks. Just looked at my build sheet and I do not have DFM. I also do not have the HD radio. Both show a 50.00 credit. So I'm assuming, with no DFM, I will not to have to worry about the lifters collapsing? Build date 10/21. I do have stop/start.

[mention=126037]Haider320[/mention] I was just going to send you a message to make sure you saw the video in the first post. It certainly sounds like what you were describing by a blinker type noise. The post above yours says they replaced the high pressure fuel pump and it fixed the issue for another member who was experiencing the same noise. Yes, thanks. I just read that. On the YouTube link, there are several guys saying they have the same sound. Either GM has some faulty fuel pumps, or some of them just sound like that. My best friend has an 18 and he says his makes the same sound like mine. Kinda like the vibration issue. Some have it, some don't.

I know this is an old thread, but has anybody determined what this sound is? My 18 makes the same sound.

First 6.2 I've heard doing this. Probably a fluke thing. Sorry it had to happen to you but at least you're getting a new crate motor.

89. These engines have to high of a compression ration to run the cheap stuff.

I just went out and looked at my can and compared them to the instructions. The side with the dip stick is labeled outlet and the side with the internal filter is labeled as the inlet. Looks like ADD W1 mislabeled their instructions.

Yeah, that does look backwards. I just pulled my instructions and they are the same. The way I have mine set up; the hose from the dirty air (under the throttle body) goes into the can where the internal filter is at. The wire mesh stuff I have in the internal filter captures and water/oil and drips into the can. The clean air (side with the dip stick) connects to the side of the engine. I hope mine is connected correctly.

The line under the throttle body connects to the inlet on the catch can. The outlet hose connects to the side of the manifold.

I know cans i've used in the past, including this one; get pretty dang warm to the touch. I'm not worried about condensation.

I heard the suction sound you were describing today in my truck. To me it just sounds like air circulating in an empty aluminum can.

I did not hear any suction sound from mine. Everything seemed to be the same, sound wise.

It comes with a clear hose but it sucks. I got 4 1/2 ft of 3/8 pcv hose from auto zone.
