  1. Well, I started a new topic in Diablo sub forum. Maybe they can shed some light on this issue that is making my skin crawl. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/159157-your-issues-with-dealer-pricing-effecting-the-end-users/
  2. LOL... That is about as big of bullshit as I have heard in a long time. So.... what I get from this is if you are not aware of their dealer pricing practices and search for the best deal out there (which 99% of people do) then you "could" be hung out to dry because you (the end user) tried to save a couple dollars. The issue that Diablo is having with their dealers should not be taken out on the end user, even if it is just an empty threat. The fact that Diablo even posted that on their Website is somewhat disturbing to me. After stewing on this for a few minutes, I think this warrants its own thread.
  3. If convertor is locked up properly, then you won't experience a loss or gain in rpm's.... Maybe bobble at the transition but RPMs should remain the same if speed is constant.
  4. ThAts really lean for WOT, it should be around 12.8-13.0ish
  5. Duh, you clearly said you used an LC1...I'm guessing you Dyno'd it, what AFR did it like?
  6. U tune yours with a wideband?
  7. I can't imagine it NOT being able to change your speedo calibration. As far as fuel mileage, that is dependent on the current efficiency of the vehicle. A good tune will never make it worse. The truck will feel lighter and MPG gains will be minimal, maybe 1 sometimes 2 mpg on the average vehicle. Thats a good tune in general, I never run canned tunes and I'm not personally familiar with Diablo/Diablew except for the mostly good things that has been reported. If you were closer I would help you out, I don't do this for monetary gains, its just a hobby.
  8. See, I don't get that... am I the only one that would rather have a Corvette that feels like a truck? I am 3/4 hillbilly though!
  9. Here are a few pics of the wideband ran into the truck. I pushed the sensor wire/plug through a grommet just over the passenger kick panel that runs out the right side. It was kind of tight but nothing a coat hanger, electrical tape and Vaseline couldn't fix. Hell.. I remember when Vaseline use to fix some other issues, lol.
  10. I will put gears in this summer, if I go NA I will go 4.10's if I put a compressor on it I will go 3.42's. All depends on what aftermarket comes out with this summer. You are right though, gears would make this pig fun
  11. I would say you are on the money, along with the intake and exhaust manifolds..... Oh and 12" of elevation change. It would be easy to bypass the vets power with a good cam and headers. I can't wait until the aftermarket starts kicking parts out for these things.
  12. I installed my F.A.S.T wideband last night and after doing some logging it looks like the factory calibrations are pretty close for a bone stock truck, at least it is for mine. If I can't make improvements on the VVT then I doubt there will be a lot of gains on tune alone, I'm thinking 15-20 HP Maybe. It's just an educated guess but I think a full exhaust system with a nice set of tuned long tubes will wake these things up, especially the 6.2. Now if I can only find a dealer willing to send me that system for test... Cough Cough... HInt Hint!
  13. I have been tuning cars since 2000, my first being a 1996 impala SS that went 10.90's fully dressed out at 4400lbs. If I haven't been tuning this long, I would have needed a school to properly tune this E92 controller. There are several people willing to help you though if you just want to play around with it, and you nailed it on the head, you have to have patience.
  14. If you guys have your heart set on Diablo, I would certainly talk to 06MonteSS (Lew) before pulling the trigger on anything. He is a Diablo dealer who can give you a custom tune to your liking built into the Intune and probably even give you a good deal on it to boot. www.diablewtune.com
  15. Hey... just a thought but I would be more than willing to swap with you while the dealer looks at it so I'm sure that somebody closer to you would be willing to do the same... sorry to hear about your issues.
  16. No tuning needed, ECU will adjust accordingly. I'm sure there are gains that could be had by tuning but definitely not needed.
  17. Curious, why did you go back stock?
  18. Well..... limiter maybe, but there is a way around the limiter. I'm just sayin
  19. I will Dyno before and after but it will be a a couple weeks before I get time to saddle up to a Dyno. I won't be going with K&N though if that's all you are interested in. I like a sealed air box that won't sound like it's going to suck small plains from the sky. As far as your High Flow Air Box... I call dibs if you decide to get rid of it.
  20. I want to tune fuel, air and timing tables on straight gas, and Dyno on straight gas, that way I have a good apples to apples comparison and I want alcohol gone first so that my target AFR's aren't changing all around on me as it adjusts to different alcohol content. I wouldn't normally do a VE tune on a bone stock vehicle but with this being a brand new ECU I'm just curious as to how far the factory calibration is off. I could just tune the MAF in a couple hours and call it good but my curiosity gets the best of me.
  21. If you mean who tuned it... I did/am. I am using HPtuners tuning software to do it.
  22. I'm currently on e85 so KR has been almost non existent besides when it transitions to DOD. I'm running it as low as I can and will fill up with 0% ethanol 91 tonight. Fuel light came on when I pulled in work today. I'm gonna pull a Cramer to the next non ethanol station.
  23. I will keep you guys posted, and welcome any local guys to the dyno when I go, that will give me a couple extra gear heads to mash the skinny pedal for me while I watch what's going on.
