  1. Sorry NC I almost laughed...Winter in WI here and -15 overnight becomes normal. My 80 pound chocolate lab can walk on top of the snow pack!
  2. This is interesting I was just under mine and I have a 6.2l 3.73 with NHT. I know I have the 9.76 it was on my build sheet. I was looking because I wanted a new differential cover from PML. Differential is marked with: 0134 R9652 12 bolt I have looked high and low for a differential cover without success.
  3. Ha....I know where you got those! Glad they worked out for you.
  4. I misunderstood.... looking back I thought we were talking tow mirrors...my bad. You are correct on the LTZ. I also examined the GM up-fitter manual when installing my 15 tow mirrors. Real pain in the ass.
  5. If you go to the main mirror topic (yes the super long one) it has all the info based on trims years etc. from those of us who have already installed. I posted several threads specific to my 14 LTZ. I have all functions working. No BCM programming needed or available that I'm aware of. My LTZ max tow came with black camper mirrors stock. They were pnp in the sense that plugs match up between the harness' with the exception of the puddle lights and ambers. In my case I needed both door switches to enable the power fold. All the wiring was already there. From there you have to tap power for the ambers as running lights and run 2 new wires for the white led to work with cargo switch.
  6. I agree it's necessary. In fact they state to check the valves function in their directions.
  7. Has to be an oversight. They should be able to ship that out.
  8. Are you saying yours does not look like the pic? My Rx cc looks just like the pic and has the valve.
  9. It does have a check valve. It's attached to the fitting coming off the cc.
  10. I disagree....I had them on my 2011 and they were great. Already have the rears on and they take out that harsh ride of the max tow. My truck is a loaded LTZ and I'm sure when my fronts goes on tomorrow it will be improved from my past experience. I also don't plan to max them out only 3rd setting as I tow an RV a lot. Thats where I noticed the biggest improvemnets. Less bounce in the front end while towing and les body roll side to side. To each his own, I'm sure GMC-AT was not happy with his but I suspect his other issues were more to blame then the 5100. Theses shocks have been put on ALOT of trucks over the years and still remain one of the most economical suspension improvements. Some of the other big names mentioned here are great if you offroad and way overkill for the everyday guy imo.
  11. Mine is working out just fine. I get about1-2oz of milky brown oil/moisture evry 1,000 miles or so. I live in WI so we definetly have the cold and no problems thus far. I actually used the factory PCV connections attached to the new CC lines. Makes fro a nice clean install. Like others said clamps are not really needed but I used those black plastic clamps and again I think it makes it look cleaner.
  12. Thanks! If you come across a part number let me know. My parts guy found it. Pricey freakin tube.
  13. Anyone know what GM calls the quick connect tube that goes from the valley cover to the intake on a 6.2L. Its the one piece tube with fittings on both ends that you remove for the catch can install. I have a Rx installed but my dog chewed it up and I want to order a spare incase in need to restorte to stock some day. I can't seem to find it on any of the parts sites. Its the lower one not the two topside PCV tubes. Thanks!
  14. I'm in for a set...good luck on the test fit
  15. Are you sure about the boot orientation? The part numbers are the same between 14-15. When I called Bilstein they said orient the shock so the label is able to be read right side up. On mine and others this equates to boot down. Confusing as hell? Personally I like the look of boot up better.
  16. Nope... I have them as well and they are different for 14 now. Black boot down. While I'm at it I ordered my fronts and am willing to pay my dealer to do it because its a PITA and its freakin cold here in WI. Two dealers treating me like I'm carzy to suggest such a job. Starting to piss me off!
  17. Thanks for the effort!
  18. Sweet action on those covers!
  19. Yeah the XB35 kit just hits the rear of the dust cap not allowing you to screw it on. I ended up cutting a square hole in the back of the DC. I then cut some rubber gasket material and siliconed it from the inside of the DC. I then made a small slit in the rubber, pulled the wires through and then siliconed around where the wires exit. They would fit just fine except that the harness comes straight off the bulb where stock bulbs have that L shape pointing down.
  20. Just finished my TRS XB35 4500 HID install on stock projectors tonight. Besides being cold out it took much longer than I anticipated due to my OCD on the dust covers. The H11 will not fit behind the dust cap so I had to rig them up. I just couldn't live with the holes! Remarkably they worked on the first shot and look good. No flicker or buzz when truck is running. Nice light output compared to stock and i was impressed with the bulb fit in stock socket. If anyone ever follows through on deeper dust covers for a Silverado I'll gladly purchase them.
  21. Once the new ridgid fog light kits become available for the Silverado what would the typical install be like. Can you use existing harness and OEM fog switch or new harness resistor etc?
  22. I get the reliability and would order a trs kit. Any work around my concern.
  23. Alright HID gurus I need some advice. I am going to order my HID kit and have been on the fence about retrofitting to FX-R. I thought of something today that worries me. If I retrofit my Silverado with FX-R that will leave me with D2S bulbs/sockets. I use my truck a lot to tow my travel trailer. We do several long trips per year (next summer its WI to Yellowstone) and I got to thinking what if my HID goes out while on the road. If I retrofit to FX-R I could not just throw my stock H11 bulbs in. If I use the Silverado specific HID kit with H11 and OEM projectors I could carry my stock bulbs just in case. Last thing I want is to be in SD or MT next summer with no headlights. Anyone have an idea for me. I admit I'm not that familar with all the HID adapters etc.
