  1. I would be in on purchase of new covers.
  2. Awesome yours is one of the posts I was looking for.
  3. That what i thought. Ill go back and look for the silverado retrofit post. Great topic not so great sorting back through 70 pages! Thanks for the info....
  4. Will the adapter plate be Sierra or silverado specific? I plan to run the silverado kit so Xb35 bulbs. Now today I feel lazy and think just the kit and call it a day. Nothing ordered yet so I'll probably change my mind. I'm ocd and overkill by nature.
  5. They sure look good but I at least know the top mounting holes on FX-R line up on Silverado mount. I wonder how the RX350 would line up.
  6. 10-4 on that. By the way your screen name and avatar is $$$
  7. You guys are killing me and my pocket book. I knew this was the answer. Gotta pay to play I guess. I use my truck for towing so the downtime to retrofit is not an issue. Looks like the FXR will be the way to go. I'm new to the HID seen but not to mods so at least the Silverado appears easier to retrofit. Question....if I just plan to use my HID as dedicated low beam do I need to even worry about the high beam shutter solenoid wiring. The Silverado has high beam separate and I plan to keep that stock and not retrofit. Now to try and make sense of HID adapters, wiring etc...I have done lots of stuff but for some reason this stuff gets mind numbing. My new 15 tow mirrors were a breeze compared to this prospect.
  8. To anyone running HID in a Silverado OEM projector are you satisfied. I'm torn on a Silverado TRS kit or a kit and FXR projector retrofit. I have debated this for weeks and I am still unsure.
  9. Just pick something like Camaro and then write your model in the order box. They will ship it correctly. That's what I did for my 6.2L.
  10. Just looking for some piece of mind. I currently have a Diablosport Intune on my 14 6.2L max tow 3.73. I received a new TCM calibration since mine wasn't supported yet. I am running the diablo tune with DOD off. The only other setting I changed is trans shift to firm. I have to say for a canned tuner the truck runs very well now. I did notice the firm shift tune causes the truck to stay in gear longer and it does not race to get to the lowest gear possible like stock. I was impressed as it works well this way for towing my TT. More power when you need it. Only thing I get nervous about is you can hear some of the downshifts now. To be clear I just hear positive clicks, not clunks and you can't feel it. I have always been told it's better to have a firmer shift then a soft for tranny longevity. Am I just paranoid about hearing it engage? Feedback welcome.....
  11. I put the Rx on my 6.2L. All I can say is the craftsmanship is top notch and the kit is well done. Mounting bracket is perfect and plenty of good quality hose to work with. Almost looks factory when complete. To anyone who has put one on...do you really need hose clamps? Hose seems pretty tight on the barbs to me.
  12. Awesome thanks for the info. I had a Borla touring muffler on my 2011 and it was a little loud while towing but that was on a 5.3 with 3.42 gearing. My 6.2 has 3.73 and can stay in 5th longer. The 5.3 had to go down to 3rd at times and the noise got old while towing. Please report back after your trip I tow a 5500# TT as well.
  13. How's the sound? I want the GM Borla but tow quite a bit and don't want to aggressive/sound. I understand its the touring muffler not the sport correct?
  14. Well the emails to Airaid paid off...I got this response from Airaid today regarding the MIT tube. Any feedback on production of a MIT for 2014 Silverado 6.2? "Thank you for your inquiry. That kit is currently in development and we are hoping to have it done in the near future. I will add your email to my follow up folder for when more information is available. If we can further assist you please contact us at 800-498-6951 or at my direct line below."
  15. Yeah you can purchase it direct from them or autoanything usually offers a discount. They are not fully supported for 2014 yet although some on here run them without problems. I used one previously that worked flawless. I will just wait until the bugs are out and get another. Yes you can install it. It simply plugs into your OBD port, bottom under dash. Literally plug it it in, thats it.
  16. My 2 cents....I came from a 2011 with oil burning issues and yes the AFM on the 5.3 was crap for sure. Before I tuned it I had a borla touring and yes it did drone slightly. Post tune it was just fine with the AFM turned off. Fast forward to my new 6.2L...I fully intend to put a range module on it when supported fully as I have had one of those as well. I have to admit that the AFM on this truck is WAY better then my 2011. Yes I can feel it some but it really is night and day. Drone is no issue with stock exhaust. I really don't plan any exhaust mods as I tow a TT and cant stand the noise at highway speed for 2000 mile trips. Maybe I'm just getting old?
  17. Good to know...now just to get the truck delivered!
  18. Where did you purchase the beta model? I have not found any retailers. I owned one on my 2011 and agree it works great.
