  1. I checked my manual and it doesn't have the same wording about changing the fuses around. Fuse box for #10 is cargo light, #11 Accessory Power outlet, #101 Accessory Power outlet1/ Cigarette lighter. I am assuming the power outlet in the dash (always hot) is plugged into the cigarette lighter. I checked with one Chevy dealership (2/18) today and the person told me I couldn't change it over because it is hot wired directly to the battery. A fuse change doesn't change the wiring issue. I will check with another Chevy dealership but information on the internet states the same thing.
  2. I have one power outlet in the dash. Regular WT pickup w/o 110 outlet. It is hot all the time. I would like to have this outlet go on when the vehicle starts and shuts off when I shut down the truck. The one in the arm rest shuts off. I thought I saw something about moving a fuse but I can't seem to find it. Is there a reasonable way to convert it over? I don't want it on all the time so I can plug in my GPS etc. and don't want to plug it into the arm rest. If so, please give me some directions.
  3. Chevy only recommends to plow with a regular cab and you can purchase a snow plow prep package for the truck. This is as follows: SNOW PLOW PREP PACKAGE includes power feed for backup and roof emergency light, (KW7) 170-amp alternator, forward lamp wiring harness, (TRW) Provision for cab roof mounted lamp/beacon, (K47) high-capacity air cleaner, (NZZ) underbody shield and Heavy Duty Front Springs. VYU not available with 20" wheels without Z71 suspension. (Only available on 4WD models.) (VYU) (Includes (G80) locking rear differential.) (Z82)
  4. I kinda agree with what you are saying with the rear speakers.
  5. I never had a heated steering wheel and don't see to care about it. Just another thing that will give you trouble later down the road. What is the cost (material and labor) and time to put it in?
  6. How do you like these bulbs? Is it worth while? Do you have the replacement numbers on these blubs? I am thinking of getting them. Thanks.
  7. I was thinking the same and somewhat disappointed in the rear speakers. What is the difference with the WT1 (six speakers) to the WT2 (four speakers) on 2014. Where are the other two speakers located? I guess the LT model has the six speakers.
  8. There are photos above. The silver color (close enough) cover on the black engine compartment when you open the hood color matches the silver in my exterior truck color. Nice little extra with silver painted trucks. You can color match it to any exterior color of the truck to give it that custom truck look. The silver color just "pops" very nicely to the rest of the truck when you open the hood in my opinion.
  9. I installed my engine cover and Chevy decal today and it looks great. The silver color on the engine cover kinda matches my truck exterior color which is also a plus. It is a very simple installation.
  10. The automatic transmission dipstick has been disappearing on a lot of vehicles for many years. I am not surprised it is just starting on the new Chevy Silverado. I know of some vehicles as of 2006 but it could have happen even later than that date. Just like the spare tire on some vehicles.
  11. Just got notice both parts are being shipped and I should get them on 11/29/2014.
  12. I was told Chevy cancelled my emblem order today (11/25/14) because they were out of stock and I told them to reorder it again.
  13. I wonder what that would cost?
  14. I liked the upgrade and just recently purchased everything to do it. Thanks for the information and the best places (pricing) to purchase everything.
  15. I guess the best thing to do is not try out anything new because you may want it and that will cost you additional money to upgrade or buy new. This way you don't know what you are missing and most likely go your merry way by just using what you got. There is always a new vehicle purchase in the way future where you can upgrade when you need to trade it in. Something new is always coming out and just stay focus (consider what is reasonable Vs unreasonable) and enjoy your new truck on any decision you make.
  16. Nice job!. What brand of bed rails did you use. Did it match the stake holes especially the one in the rear? They look nice too.
  17. I added the 2014-2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Chrome 3RD brake light cover. It looks great with all the chrome on my truck. http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Auto-2014-2015-Silverado-Chrome/dp/B00IOZVI36
  18. You make some very good reason why not to get it especially when it is not made for a regular pickup.
