  1. I hear ya. It probably feels much better in the real world. Just looking at pics, it doesn’t seem drastically different.
  2. Maybe its just me (probably the case) and I'll probably change my mind once I get my new truck BUT is the interior really that much different other than a larger center screen? Also, I know there was alot of controversy about the front end of the 2020's when they came out but it really has grown on me. This is subjective I know but I'm not convinced the facelift on the 2024 looks better, just different, speaking specifically to the High Country front end. This isn't a case of me trying to prop up the current model because that's what I have, my new 2024 should be arriving anyday now.
  3. I’m sure they’ll be close but we’ll see. Really if the 10spd tows better I’m not too concerned about a little mileage difference, better or worse, but don’t see how it won’t be better towing..again we shall see
  4. Good to hear on the tranny so far. I'm waiting on the identical 3500 HC only in white. Ordered in Jan and it was also shipped already so hoping to see it any day now.
  5. I have had Duramax trucks going back to 2002. I'm on my 2nd 2020 Duramax that is now pushing 90k. The Duramax is awesome. I get it, if you don't tow much it is overkill especially given the added cost. The reality is they drive great loaded or just daily driving, better than the gas in both scenarios IMO. They tow sooo nice, low RPM's, no revving and incredible power and now the 24 is even more capable... Our work trucks are 6.6 gas trucks. I used one of them for a couple weeks while my DMax was having a def heater recall done. The gas truck got the job done but revved alot and after towing with it for the weekend (35' gooseneck trailer) it simply wears you out more on a long drive drive. All of this said, I ordered my first gas truck in a long time due to the 10spd Allison. I'm hopeful the 10spd will reduce the huge downshifts and revs needed to keep the larger trailers moving. My new truck is currently "in-transit" and I'll admit I'm still not sure I made the right choice. It is saving me $9390.00 though. Time will tell, really looking forward to the real world difference and hoping it works out. Worst case I go back to diesel.
  6. You know what looking leads to….just sayin
  7. Call whatever you want..lol. It simply works great paired with the Duramax. No reason to believe it won’t with the 6.6 gas as well.
  8. In some videos I’ve watched where the GM reps were hyping the new setup, they have mentioned ‘minor’ differences, to what degree, really don’t know. If its the same basic design it should be every bit as reliable.
  9. If it performs like it does with the Duramax, you’re going to love it. Been very reliable matched to a motor with more torque and HP since 2020 so it’s not a brand new tranny.
  10. The 6spd is a good transmission and very capable. I had 6spd Allisons in my DMax trucks and didn’t think the 10spd was necessary and it probably isn’t but I do prefer the 10spd overall, have put on 150,000 miles between two trucks now. It will be interesting to see how many will prefer the 6spd in a year after spending a year with the 10. Like someone said, time will tell.
  11. I didnt see where he said he likes the 6spd more. He said the 10spd keeps the engine in the power band very well. Also, passing/merging acceleration is definitely quicker with the 10 speed. If we did a side-by-side roll from 50-80, the 10 speed would walk away. That's where the close ratio 4,5,6,7 gear shine! Will be great to see a towing comparison, that is where we 'should' see the gap widen. Empty..ehh probably pretty close.
  12. Custom Crew Cab (6'10.2" Bed) 4x4 6A 7.5 sec 15.9 sec @ 89.8 mph Motor Trend Looks like 7.5 second 0-60 for the 6spd. I know 0-60 times aren't really that important but it does show a comparison of the two. 0-60 loaded would be good to see. Here is the Ford 7.3/10A Tremor XLT Tremor 7.3L Crew Cab (6'9.9" Bed) 4x4 10A 7.3 sec 15.6 sec @ 89.6 mph Motor Trend

  14. Motor sounds nice. Pretty good time @ 7.35,not sure what the elevation was. I know TFL truck had the 6.6/6spd @ 9.05 0-60 but that was at elevation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ4AuaO4t38
  15. My last several trucks have been diesels and absolutely love ‘em. They drive great, very quiet and tow awesome and have not had all of the “emissions nightmares” you read about on the forums. I said in the past here that if the 10spd Allison was to be made available for the gas truck I’d give it a try, so thats how I ordered my 24. Worst case I go back to the diesel, it should be a great comparison and it’s saving me $9390.00!
  16. You can negotiate. I’ve purchased from the same dealer for years and they have always been fair and competitive without even needing to negotiate.
  17. The build and price is now live for Chevrolet
  18. Checking daily will only send you deeper into depression…
  19. Dealer told me yesterday mine was built and back from the upfitter. It shows a delayed status though. High Country 3500 SRW Gas. Ordered created on 1/19
  20. I'd call it the "Knight Rider" mod.
  21. The 2022 trucks have been dropped and the 2024 is an option now but the configurator is still not live. Guessing it will go live very soon.
  22. Oh man..how frustrating. Totally agree on the warning label. I specifically ordered mine without the multiflex because I didn't want to deal with cleaning out the jamb everytime i washed it. That and I'd rather have the power close feature.
  23. Happened to me last week. What made it worse is I have LED's mounted behind my grille connected to the high beams. I was able to get the driving lights turned on and that deactivated the high beams. Next time I started it up, no issues.
  24. How will the ride compare between the gas/diesel. It seems like the diesel might have a nicer ride given the additiuonal weight. I was convinced I was giving the gas motor a shot but I'm starting to waffle again. The dealer still has time to change my order.
