  1. As the title suggests, this is clearly a first world problem I'm asking about. Here's the scenario..I'm listening to a game on the factory Sirius/XM sports channel, It doesn't matter what game but we'll use the NFL as the example. It's 3rd and 12 yards to go, your team needs to score a touchdown to go up by 3 points with a minute to play. You've listened to the whole game and it comes down to this exciting play. Now here is the issue, before the ball is even snapped, the score that shows on my screen updates to show the play was successful! This happens with baseball games too. Its like the score updates are broadcast ahead of the actual play by play. The easy way to solve this is to not look at the screen or have the Nav on but wondering if this is just my truck or has anyone else noticed this? Again, not losing sleep over this, just seems strange they couldn't sync this up.
  2. The only time I've found the adaptive cruise to be usefull is on a long single lane road where there is so much traffic its not worth passing.
  3. If you have the multi-flex, pretty sure you don’t have power up. I specifically ordered without the multi-flex because I wanted the power gate and didn’t want extra door jambs to clean. What methods are you trying to close the gate? Maybe a bad switch or motor?
  4. I'm not sure if it's the same noise on yours but mine has, what I would call, a whine I can hear at idle and under acceleration. It drove me nuts at first and noticed it would go away when I turned off the A/C. I was told it was normal and actually don't even notice it anymore now that I have over 10k on the truck.
  5. I just went out and hit the call cancel button for 10 seconds as you suggested, worked! Thanks again!
  6. I should have been more clear on the power cycle thing. I turned off the truck and opened the door for a few minutes and let it sit overnight. I'll try the call button option first, then go to the battery. Thank you for the suggestions.
  7. I was connected to Carplay last night and I received a text that interupted the audio. Since then I have no audio for FM, Sirius or any of the installed apps that would play audio. I removed my phone from being connected, disconnected apple CarPlay, power cycled, let it sit overnight and still no audio. I decided to setup a new connection for my phone and it connected as usual. Whats odd is if i select music from one of my Apple Carplay apps it plays through the speakers just fine, if I exit to one of the vehicle sources, no audio. I deleted the phone again, turned off Apple carplay and still no audio from the truck apps after power cycling. Anyone else had this issue?
  8. They were from a previous year. They were connected to my 2020 3500 DMax.
  9. My last several trucks have been diesels, I purchased a 2024 3500 gas High Country and it drives nice, I would say about the same as the diesel did.
  10. When I purchased my 2024, the sensors in the trailer paired up just fine with the trailer app. When I put my aftermarket wheels on the truck that had the 2020 sensors, they did not. I had to purchase new sensors for the truck wheels.
  11. I just got in the truck and noticed the Nav rebooting. It is now resolved, not sure if it was something sent from On Star, I never did hear back from them.
  12. Drove to the cabin this past weekend and Google Maps (Vehicle Nav System) worked great. I know the route so don't need the nav but it is nice to see arrival times and have it re-route for potential traffic issues. Anyway, leaving to come home and select my home address from the favorites, route is entered it calculates and I head towards home. The NAV location never leaves my cabin though, its stuck at that location. Pulled over to reboot to no avail. Called OnStar and they tried a reset procedure that seemed to do nothing (holding ther home button for 20 seconds). The WiFi was working and I was signed into my current Google account. They escalated the issue yesterday and I have I yet to get a call back. I have had more quirky electrical/tech issues on this truck than my last 3 combined.
  13. Hasn't mattered for mine. It has done it with and without a trailer. It will flash normal (or seem to) for the first second or so, then goes to a fast flash like the old school bulb being out. Sometimes it will be out all day, even after shutting down, and others it has come back the next time I use the signal, very random. It always shows "Check left front signal" on the dash when it occurs.
  14. Two new headlamps on order for mine. The left front has gone out (fast signal flash) about 5-6 times now.
  15. Mine has it and I still protected with the clear shield below the mldg and over the texture. Larger A/T tires are tough on those areas as rocks release from the tread.
  16. Here is MTU's comment: While the 2500 is a two stage and 3500 is a three stage, the second stage (bottom leaf) engages quicker on a 3500 vs a 2500. The main four leaf pack is similar between both, the rest is different. -Credit to MTU Alum
  17. I just did what you re contemplating. Traded my 2020 Dmax 3500 for a 2024 Gas. It is a bit of a transition. I was so famaliar with the power of the duramax that i was a bit disappointed and questioned my decision after picking up the gas. Now that I have over 10,000 miles on the gas I really like. The 10spd has been great. We have several gas work trucks with the 6spd and the biggest difference I've noticed is the big downshifts the 6spd would do to keep the load moving vs the 10spd. The 10spd seems to transition and build power a little more seamless if that makes sense. Bottom line, with the load youre pulling, I think you'll be more than happy with the gas motor. It also feels good knowing you're driving the most reliable and trouble free version of the HD.
  18. If you're towing that often, I'd stick with the Duramax. If going gas, I'd buy a 24. I'm up to 9000 miles now and the 10spd has been awesome.
  19. Mine will connect but I need to activate siri twice before it will do anything. !st time it will just do nothing then close. I'm going to try removing my phone, the re add to see if that fixes it.
  20. You're probably right, hopefully it took care of my next oil change and tire rotation too.
  21. Received this notice on my Chevrolet app. It asked me to start the vehicle, then shut it off while the truck updates. No other info, is there a reason they don't include what is actually being updated?
  22. Like I said in my post “I’m not referring to actual situations where traffic slows and you would normally hit the brakes”. Of course I want other traffic to know I’m slowing. The question was more along the lines of WHEN and in what scenario the brake lights come on. When not using a cruise, most people can just let off the gas and not hit the brakes, I was wondering if adaptive cruise automatically added brake lights each time that happened. MTU Alum I believe provided me the answer. Thank you
  23. I'm going to answer your specific concern here. As background, I have owned Duramax trucks for years, my most recent was a 2020 3500 with several versions prior to that, I think they're great. My most recent truck was my first gas in a LONG time, 2024 3500 HD HC with, as you know has the 10spd now and I'm really getting to like this truck! First, If I were you, I would put more weight on feedback from owners who have the 2024 Gas/10spd unless you plan to purchase used or a 2023. There is nothing wrong with the 6spd but the 10 will provide a different towing experience. My feedback is based on the assumption youre buying a 2024. Now, per your question, your main concern is "Duramax having emissions issues" or "towing with max capacity with gasser". First I'll address my experience with "Emissions Issues". If that is your concern my experience is they are few and far between, I've had excellent luck with the L5P. Are you going to read stories on the internet forums of disasters, yes but are they really that wide spread? I'd say no. So if that is the concern, I'd say rest at ease buying the diesel. By the way, I short commmuted mine for years and used them for plowing with frequent low RPMs with no issues at all. Second, and I'm going to use your numbers and the side by side comparison of my gas HD vs the Diesel. "towing at max capacity with gasser". You get a slightly higher 5er/gooseneck rating with the diesel but only slightly. You're giving yourself less then 350lbs to spare on rated PIN weight so getting very close, and that is assuming empty weight w/o all your gear water etc..Now if you meant maxing out on power, you won't be. Will it tow like the diesel? No, not even close but it will get the job done for you, just need to be a bit more patient. My opinion givern your trailer...either by a Dually given the weight of your trailer (and IMO get the diesel then) OR buy a smaller trailer then go with the gas.
  24. Ever follow a car and it seems like the driver is constantly tapping the brakes? Very annoying especially when traffic is flowing at a consistent rate. While I'm not a big fan of adaptive cruise (yet) I have used it and it certainly makes for an easier drive on the highway in traffic. I do notice though that it feels as if the brakes are being utilized quite a bit, truck drops back just a bit then speeds up to reach the set speed then slows as the car in front slows a bit. Does anyone know if the adaptive cruise is making me look like that annoying guy that is constantly riding the brakes everytime the truck needs to slow a bit? I'm not referring to actual situtaions where traffic slows and you would normally hit the brakes, just the situation where the truck drops speed as it senses the vehicle in front.
