  1. Great point on the positive, tows very well for a gas truck, very pleased in that respect.
  2. Same exact thing with my tailgate. There is a clearly an issue with these 2024 trucks that needs to be resolved, way too many of us with the exact same problems.
  3. Same issue on mine. Left headlamp signal flashes fast and the Led DRL is out at the same time. Also have had the button on the back of the steering wheel that changes channels stop communicating on several occasions and a power liftgate error that continually pops up. They all resolve after a reboot and are good for a few days to a few weeks but have all come back. I plan to schedule it in.
  4. It might, not really that noticeable and not sure they warrant a seperate forum. I really don't care one way or the other, just my thoughts after owning both, all good.
  5. I have a 2024. IMO, I don't think enough has changed to warrant a dedicated forum Minor facelift (Not sure if its better, just different) Updated interior (Google Maps are nice). In reality the main difference is the screen New TPMS sensors are needed if you plan to use the A/M wheels you just took off your 2020-2023. My trailers still paired up fine. Slight power increase for Duramax 10spd Allison paired with Gas (This is probably the biggest change) Removed some of the quick access buttons on the exterior doors (This might have happened before 2024 though). What else? Issues I've had on the 2024 that I didn't on either of my 2020's. Taking it in for both to be checked out. Glitchy animated Headlamp that frequently acts like a bulb is burnt out. (Power cycling resets) Constant Service power tailgate message.
  6. In 2020 there were some recalls on the early versions for a hood latch/catch issue that required hood replacement. You may want to have your dealer research if your truck was one of them. If so, you could probably get it covered under warranty.
  7. I've been holding off on sharing my thoughts until I had enough miles on my new truck to formulate an opinion. Here's some background: my previous truck was a 2020 3500 SRW High Country 4wd with the Duramax. I've been driving Duramax trucks for the last 15 years, so I'm very familiar with their capabilities. My new truck is a 2024 3500 SRW High Country 4wd with the 6.6 Gas/10spd combo. The only difference in options is the 2024 has a sunroof and the 2020 did not. The sticker price on the 2020 was just over 76k, and the sticker on the 2024 is $77,540.00. I've put just under 3000 miles now on the new truck. Let me get this out of the way right up front: I really liked the Duramax. There is no comparison in power, and in no scenario will the 6.6 gas/10spd compete with the Duramax for power. Torque is king when it comes to towing. That said, the 6.6 gas/10spd does get the job done. I've towed just over 10k (the same trailer I towed with the Duramax many times) and this is my comparison since I'm very familiar with it. The biggest discrepancy I've noticed is passing power. I'm learning to adjust my expectations on how much space I need to complete a pass. I don't want to come off as I think the truck is a slouch because it's not. I'm very impressed with the combo and how it seems to stay in the power band. I haven't noticed any violent downshifts to keep the load moving. The gasser seems to hold the speed very well, even on moderate hills. I'll update more on this once I get some more miles and towing under my belt. Driving around unloaded, the gasser is great. The transmission shifts great. My response to others that have said the 10spd is a bit busy is that it's related to the tranny learning early on. I had a little of that at first, but it's already smooth as silk. Additionally, it seems to be getting more powerful. I'm not sure if that's just me getting used to the feel of the truck or if it's reality. I haven't done any scientific 0-60 runs. Now onto mileage. I've read reports from gas owners claiming up to 20MPG's. I don't see that ever happening and I'm not sure how that would even be accomplished short of driving downhill with the wind at your back everywhere you go. The best I've seen is 17 with an average (on the DIC) of 11.4. A full tank shows a range of around 550 miles. The Duramax would sometimes flirt with a 700-mile range. Maybe the 6spd was better for MPG's? Maybe the 10spd will go up once the truck loosens up a bit. We'll see. Bottom line: I really like this truck, and it has plenty of power to handle whatever you need it to. This post was more for any current diesel owner considering the switch to gas. You just need to adjust your expectations. What you give up in towing power, you gain in cheaper fuel, and knowledge that you are driving the most reliable version of the GM HD (even though I had minimal issues with the Duramax). BUT this gas/10spd combo will get it done. Plus, with how crazy expensive these trucks are getting, you save $9390 by sticking with the gas motor. Lastly, you get to avoid the filthy diesel pumps, dragging diesel into your truck where the previous guy managed to spill a gallon of fuel and filling up DEF.
  8. Yep..I ordered my HC intentionally w/o the multi-pro gate. A few reasons..I get a little ****** about cleaning and didn't care to add some more door jambs to clean and I wanted a power up and down gate that the multi-pro doesn't offer. The whole dropping and hitting the hitch thing was just another reason for me to avoid it.
  9. I’m still evaluating my impressions so will keep this short and inline with only 450 miles so far. It is a bit of a transition coming from a Duramax/10spd but I’m starting to get a good feel for this truck. The 10spd is smooth but not as smooth as it was with my DMax, I’m thinking once the tranny ‘learns’ my habits it will be just as smooth. I haven’t done any towing yet but certain the truck will have no issues. Starting to really like this setup the more I am removed from the diesel, no ‘hunting’ or heavy downshifts, always seems to be in the sweet spot so props to gm for the setup.
  10. On my 2020 it was easy, install the bar, hook up power and tap the high beam fuse in the fuse box, no splicing. I went to install a new bar on my 2024 High Country and all was going as planned until I got to the high beam fuse…there isn’t one. Just two fuses for the right and left headlamps. Any thoughts? Or just install a separate switch which I really don’t want to do. It was super nice having it come on with the high beams.
  11. Thanks. They were on my previous truck and only had about 2000 miles on them. I usually keep the originals and throw ‘em back on when I trade. There seems to be a tad more room for some reason on this truck. I had to tie back the liners on the 2020 but they just barely touch the liner on this one. 295/65/20 with a +0 offset.
  12. My 2024 High Country 3500HD Gas.
  13. So I picked mine up on Friday (HC 3500 Gas). The one thing that is bothering me, more than not having a diesel..lol, is the noise I hear when the A/C is running. Might be the same sound you're referring to. If I turn off the A/C, noise goes away. I chalked it up to I can hear more things now that I don't have a diesel but perhaps there is something more to it. As far as the rest of the truck, so far so good. Not diesel power but I'm good with it, transmission shifts smoothly and I didn't notice any 'hunting' whatsoever. I'll need to drive it some more to really nail down a comparison to the diesel and formulate an opinion..The A/C noise is ANNOYING though. Aftermarket wheels/tires going on today!
  14. Picked up my 2024 yesterday. 6.6 Gas High Country. Too early to provide any worthwhile feedback, driven it all of 20 miles so far. After market wheels/tires going on next week.
  15. Got it. I was going off the info the reviewer provided in the video Jettech posted.
  16. The guy that put out the video you posted said he confirmed it is the EXACT same transmission as the diesel, same part number. He comfirmed that through some sources. It has been great with my Duramax so should barely break a sweat matched to the gas motor.
  17. My 2024 HC showed upon at the dealer Saturday. Ordered it middle of January. Should be picking it up some time this week.
  18. Sounds like the tech was dreaming of a Duramax when he filled your oil back up. That's a bummer.
  19. Well they cool at least and I guess if you need to venture down a trail with a 20k trailer you have the right truck.
  20. They look nice but I don't get it. Why would someone want an HD off-road vehicle other than to just say you have it?
  21. Ya..Saw that after the fact. My bad. The whole shared 10spd development with Ford has certainly caused some confusion.
  22. Wrong. So are all of your claims about the 10spd branded Allision having issues, that transmission has been nothing short of stellar paired to the diesel. Hopefully it's as good matched the 6.6 gas.
  23. My 2024 has been “In-Transit” now since the middle of March. I also ordered a 2023 last July that still has not delivered. When the 2023 didn’t show by the time the 2024’s could be ordered, I bailed on that truck. Sure wish GM could figure out how to ship these trucks quicker.
  24. Just end the speculation…What color are you ordering??
