  1. It's just that wimpy small engine sound that i cant stand.
  2. Eh.. it's a Honda. Which means it's probably boring as hell. Just kidding.
  3. many times the fenders start to rust from the inside outwards. That's what happened on my 2008. But if i could line-x both the inside and outside of the fenders I would. (inside the tirewell)
  4. Folks- On my new to me 2018 Silverado LTZ which came with factory running boards, I found today after some freezing rain that the running boards are extremely slippery, more so than the aftermarket ones I have had in the past on previous trucks. Have any of you noticed this as well? Any solutions you can think of short of pulling these off and going with another brand? This truck came from the factory with 20 inch tires/rims so I definitely need the running boards to help get in and out. Thanks
  5. Hi Folks- I do lighting retrofits, repairs, and installations and re-lamping on the side, and have for 20+ years. So I've been around when it comes to LED and CFL emergence and popularity and such. I do love LED lighting and the cost savings, however- I do NOT like some of the side effects that it brings with it. Namely- using the wrong colors such as the "Daylight" spectrum which can be considered 5000k (kelvin) and above, as well as the RF interference that CFL and LED lighting emits. It messes with wifi, radio, and other signals, and as a ham radio operator, RF interference is a big thing for me and many others. That being said, LED lighting has it's place, if you do it wisely and smartly. - Avoid the daylight colors in your home and especially in the evening hours- it messes with your body's ability to produce melatonin. - Avoid the daylight colors in areas you are going to be in for long periods of time such as your garage if you are going to be working on a project out there. Consider the following: The warm white colors are best for inside the house especially for Kitchen, Bedroom, and Bath and Study areas and for outside the home such as your porch and driveway lights- 2700K-3000K are ideal for a warm calm environment and they make the outside of your house look more appealing and not so ugly with the bluish light that the daylight spectrum produces. It's sad to see such nice houses messed up with such terrible lighting. For the workshop- Consider 3500K-4100K. 4000/4100K is considered Cool White which is generally perfect for home garages and unfinished basements if you like white light. If not, the 3500K is a nice in-between color, providing a bit of the warm and cool white. Many offices use this color. I myself find my garage lights up nicely with 4100/4000K, especially if you have white walls/ceiling, which reflect that white light better. In my previous garage, I had a combination of Cool white and Warm White (3000k) so at the flick of a switch, I could turn on a bank of lights that had 4000K LED or Fluorescent, or I could go with the 3000K warm white, which I liked using at night when I didn't need bright light for what I was working on. I also love good old fashioned incandescent 150-250 watt light bulbs! Like the old school days. If I am not on a budget. It's your choice in the end, but do your research and you'll find that the daylight colors are not a good idea in the long run. If you want bright light, get a 4000K LED with a higher lumen output. Many of the shop lights sold online or at places like Harbor Freight and such come with 5000K which is a big annoyance of mine. Do your research. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2019-05-eyes-health-authority.html
  6. Actually, by 1996 when the Caprice/Impala SS, Roadmaster, Fleetwood, and Cutlass Cruiser were discontinued in order to convert the Arlington, TX plant over to build SUVs/Trucks, sales were extremely low. 1996 Production: Caprice- 46,261 (90% law enforcement) Impala SS- 41,941 (Very impressive jump from only 20,000 or so the year before, in 1995) Fleetwood- 10,200 Custom Cruiser- Discontinued after 1992 which sold only 4300 (These were station wagons) Roadmaster- 22,989 Production Numbers of the Impala starting in 2000 2000 174,358 2001 208,395 2002 198,918 2003 267,882 2004 290,259 2005 246,481 2006 289,868 (Change over to 9th Generation) 2007 311,128 2008 265,840 2009 165,565 2010 172,078 2011 171,434 2012 169,351 2013 156,797 2014 140,280 (Change over to 10th Generation) 2015 116,825 2016 97,006 2017 75,877 2018 56,556 2019 44,978 What sucks is that the plant where the newer Impala was made, the Oshawa Car Assembly Plant was world class and won many awards. And GM had the guts to shut it down and convert it. What a damn shame. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oshawa_Car_Assembly
  7. full disclosure- I think RCSB full size trucks look cool. But we live in a different day and age now. And THAT SUCKS that the Camaro is being discontinued (again) But what can you do, there are now turbocharged 4 cylinder engines that are just as fast as the V8s and the younger gen are not for the muscle cars.
  8. I purchased some .45 ammo online since all the stores around here were completely out. One online place was able to get it to me within a week, another took over a month, apparently even though it said in stock, it went out of stock as I was ordering.
  9. from the picture it almost looks like some sort of epoxy cover over the bottom of the gas tank.
  10. I sent the links to the above articles to a friend of mine last night and he responded back that this past Saturday, his 16/17 Dodge Ram Mega Cab was stolen out of his lot which was locked (gates) and had cameras and such. Truck was locked, and they still got into it and got it running and drove it off in no time. Use all the theft deterrent devices you can to make their job as hard as possible, but if they really want it, they'll find a way to get it I guess. Be it driving it off, or bringing in a truck to haul it off. Sadly in most states, you are not allowed to shoot someone stealing your property.
  11. Demand dictates what they will build. They save money by having standard features in various trims vs ala carte.
  12. I'm dealing with my Sr. Citizen girl, Daisy- 10 year old going on 11, Lab/Golden mix. She's a gentle giant who loves everyone and other dogs, but her vision is getting bad, and she's loosing a lot of of her hair which has the vet concerned. She's already being treated for thyroid issues, so we are trying to adjust the levels after a recent check showed them too high. I hope she stays healthy enough to be with me a few more years. She's been a wonderful friend these past 10 years which have been hard on me. Mollie on the other hand has made it thru a cancerous tumor and is doing well and very high energy at 6 years old. A faithful "daddy's girl" who gets jealous of other people and dogs around me but always softens up. <sigh> I plan to have a German Shepherd someday. I love Labs, Goldens, Beagles, Australian Shepherds, and Border Collies, but I've always wanted a German Shepherd ever since having helped train several Police K-9s back in the day. Here is my 10 year old Daisy. Mollie as a Pup. She's part Lab and part Cocker Spaniel.
  13. Once a day!? Try twice! Good lord!
  14. not enough demand for RCSBs.
  15. Just because an O2 sensor code is thrown does not mean the sensor itself is bad, it is likely detecting an issue upstream of the sensor causing the sensor to trip. Hopefully someone can chime in on what to look for but if not, I'd suggest taking it in to a good shop to have it properly diagnosed and connected to various analyzers.
  16. Wow that's a very shitty dealer service department if they can't diagnose that. Get it to another dealer.
  17. You did what you had to do. Hope you have better luck.
  18. It will eventually happen- need to compete with the others..
  19. So is the performance the same with what the OP encountered as well as with what that truck video group that tests the trucks? 6.6 just sucks in the mountains?
  20. The computer will adjust the timing somewhat depending on what you are running. You might find better MPG and performance running on premium, or you might find it runs best on 89 or 87. Try them a few times and decide for yourself.
  21. I had 120 PSI on my LP5 when I started it at 40 degrees, then when warm, it is between 30-65 ish so I'd say you are good. Just make sure you run a good premium oil filter. Change the tranny fluid every 25,000-35,000 miles along with spin on filter... change front and rear diff fluid every 30,000-60,000 miles, along with transfer case fluid. I would suggest Amsoil gear lube, I believe it to be superior to other brands out there. Change the fuel filter once a year and use a good quality fuel filter. AC/Delco is good, I've never had any issues with WIX/NAPA fuel filters either, but some from previous generations claim they don't seal well, again I've never had any issues. Replace air filter once a year. Replace cabin air filter (if equipped) once a year. Coolant every 75,000 miles. (they say it's good for 100,000 miles or more but I believe in preventative maintenance)
  22. As already stated, CE light should not come on during regen. There might be an emissions component that is out of compliance though that caused it come on. Only way to know the truck is doing a regen is an increase in exhaust temps, and the RPMs at idle jump up about 200-300RPM. If I see my truck is doing a regen, I get on the highway when I can and drive for about 15-20 min/miles at highway speeds to let it complete the regen properly (it can't do it at speeds below 50 MPH) and then all is well.
