  1. Two weeks into ownership of my brand new truck and my next "mod" is to fix one of their design problems! Weak sauce GMC! Either way, sounds like i'll give this a shot and not mess with taking it to the dealership
  2. This is not a very good picture and was taken about +/-10ft from the box but I wanted to see what the beam pattern and cut-off looked like (note: I was not the 30ft away from a wall as suggested in other places for true aiming purposes) but perhaps this may be what you are looking for?!?! I can try to get pictures because I feel that this picture does not do the lights ANY justice (FWIW - Morimoto 35w, 4300k). IMO, these lights are better than stock, hands down! I have not driven any vehicles with a true retrofit, but I also do not want the hassle and cost of having one done. The stock lights didn't cut it, and these are better than stock.... Plus the "cleaner", "white" light looks WAY better and matches the DRL's and LED's on the interior. (Go ahead and get the VLED's while your at it to complete your look, if that what you are after too).

  5. Completed the Morimoto HID headlight upgrade and these things are pretty cool. Not a lot of night driving with them yet but they definitely look sweet IMO!!!
  6. I've found the answer to one of my main questions by calling TRS this morning and speaking to Zack..... I was really curious to know why in 50 pages, nobody has been referencing the use of the "SIERRA SPEC: MORIMOTO ELITE HID SYSTEM" For those out there who may be curious and for all others who may not read the entire 50 page thread but want to go this route in the future ...... Sierra owners can now order the Sierra Spec Kit as of about Tuesday last week (Not the 9006, the 9012 or the MOPAR kit). According to TRS, the Sierra Spec kit has been put together based on what they best believe is required for the new Sierra's. I asked about the can-bus; they did not recommend getting one (thus not including it as a drop down menu when ordering) and has included the HD relay and Capacitor link with the kit (NO NEED TO ORDER ADDITIONAL PARTS). FWIW: Silverado owners can also order their own Silverado Spec kit (but i did not ask specifics about that kit). Here is a rundown of what I ended up going with and can not wait to get it and start installing
  7. edited the formatting of order info shown
  8. More like "a few days of reading" ..... But definitely full of useful content
  9. Tonight I 'dipped' the red GMC emblems to black. Simple, subtle and inexpensive mod but really changes the look IMO!

  12. Thank you and I did read your post about the lights and was leaning towards that same set up. However, I am just curious as to why many members are going with the Mopar kit rather than the Sierra or Silverado specific kits that they have listed on the TRS website? Is there something that the Mopar kit has that the Sierra kit does not? It would appear that they are the same in my novice eyes and being that I went to purchase this after their normal buisness hours, I can not call them. Maybe I can wait until Monday to call and ask them unless someone on this forum knows the answers?
  13. I assume that you are referring to the one that plugs into the box by the spare tire, not the ones that connect into the lights themselves? I ordered a second set from the dealership and just completed adding one of them to the inside of my toolbox (works very well I might add) and i don't know that I have a reason to keep the other end and could possibly part with it Picture of the added light for those who may want to know what it looks like

Custom fit a cushioned craftsman floor-mat to line the bottom of the toolbox to keep things from sliding around and hopefully prevent the horrid "black dust" from getting all over the contents of the box
