  1. 105 k miles and still original belts, but i am think of replacing them for piece of mind
  2. i guess i must be a simple person, after having a 2024 for a week, i was also happy to get back in my 2020
  3. so 5 years to refine this engine and offer a better warranty. was gm as comfortable with this engine in the first gen and know they could push more out of it. i am over 100k miles on my 2020 and other than the oil separator failure it has been good. i am going to switch to valvoline restore and protect to see if i can reduce the oil consumption. which isn't really bad but i think it should not use a1.5 quarts in 4500k miles
  4. lol, i sold my 2014 to my son at 118k miles. all stock except the vacuum pump. he insisted on buying the truck, i told him it was going to be a money pit, 6speed was going to need rebuilt. he is now at 204k miles and hasn't spent a cent on it other than regular maintenance
  5. agree with fatwhiteboy, if your fronts are that low, check the rears, these trucks are known to wear the rear inner pads much faster than the outer pad
  6. i don't think there is any oil that could help , this was a daily rental that had the crap ran out of it. which explains the neglect on the roller. typical rental being beat to death
  7. 2nd pic is nasty, agree with davester get an alignment as soon as posssible
  8. clamp it open and use a range device, you won't have drone
  9. check the after cooler lines to see if they are wet with oil. when the pcv fine oil separator failed it used a lot of oil
  10. if you dont have any more codes, i wouldn't worry about it. i have a 2020 with the 2.7, which has a temp sender in it and that looks like the plug for the sender
  11. have someone listen to the front diff to see if the actuator for the diff is working
  12. not normal, your are using twice as much oil as my 2.7 and i have 100k miles on mine.
  13. but why would that be covered under the emmissions coverage
  14. do a compression test, if thats ok take the rocker cover off and look for loose rockers or a broken valve spring
  15. have you checked the air filter, turbo charged engines suck a lot of air and require filter changes more frequently
  16. i am not due for an oil change for another 2k miles, but i thought the 2.7 oil consumption was due to a poorly designed pcv system. correct me if i am wrong
  17. mine started using oil at 30k, at 70k the fine oil oil separator failed and it used a quart every 1k miles. replaced the separator and it uses 1.5 quarts every 4k , at which time i just change the oil. even though it is still within gm specs, it didn't use oil until 30k. if the valvoline works i don't care if it meets gm spec at 100k
  18. stick with the oem filter or is there something better to use with the valvoline
  19. i will give it shot, how many oil changes before i will notice a difference
  20. just passed 100k miles and other than it uses oil running great
  21. nice work, do you think you could have used a latching relay
  22. this might help you https://www.buykippscottgmparts.ca/v-2020-chevrolet-silverado-1500--rst--2-7l-l4-gas/body--tail-gate
  23. this is only a guess, left rear spring has gotten weaker from carrying the weight of the fuel , which could affect the toe. as for camber the bearing and or the axle shafts are worn out , but they would have to be really bad to affect the camber
  24. you are going to have to pay a good independant shop to find it. there is a few good tools for fining vibrations that GM does not use
