You can add the "let 'er rip" group to your categories. The news (and this thread) does like to capture the diversity in the politics of the virus! People vs people only serves to take our sights off of the problem.. We can debate the strategies but our common enemy is the pandemic. Total shutdowns are devastating and so is letting the virus run its course. There are very basic steps that will drastically slow the spread that most of us learned in public school. One type of defense, or inconsistent application of safe practices, will give minimal results. We need to work together to get everyone(majority) following basic protocols. (hand washing, social distancing, masks) Simply carrying a mask for those times when required is not enough. It is very difficult to see the rewards of people consistently practicing safe behavior when the virus has been allowed to take hold or when large numbers of people aren't adhering to safe practices.. When you're dealing with smaller numbers like where I live, a direct connection to non-compliance can usually be found (traced). One of the challenges of this virus is it can't be seen. In my days as a a public school administrator I often had to deal with a breakout of headlice. Strategies to combat the problem were easier to implement because students could see and feel the enemy. To carry the comparison further, it was far easier to combat a lice problem when it was reported in one classroom before it was allowed to spread throughout the school. Once it was throughout the school the basic protocols still were key in bringing it under control. You wouldn't find students giving up or challenging the efficacy of lice protocols!

I'm inclined to think this is overpriced for the product . ? However, I don't doubt that your experiences and influences cause you to hold such beliefs. I ask that you research outside of your current sources and see why many don't hold such fears of vaccinations or profess sinister origins of this particular virus. You are correct that improper wearing of masks minimizes effectiveness but many people more informed than you and me attest to the benefits of proper mask usage. They don't hurt and it feels good to be doing something to possibly contribute to fighting this pandemic. Give one a try. They are effortless for most of us to wear. Participating in an effort to slow the spread certainly is more useful than trying to instill fear and despair in others.

I would be frustrated if I was told that this was only going to take two weeks to fix! I knew that contact could take two weeks to show symptoms but we were always aware that the threat would be with us for awhile. It was also very evident that we needed to work together to have an impact on the spread. Fortunately, the steps I have taken have been explained in a logical manner and appeal to my common sense. Managing a health crisis/emergency can bolster or hurt a politicians popularity but the democratic process should prevent dictatorship worries. FWIW Over the years I've said goodbye to all of my "Sergeant-majors". Their bravado about dying is no different than most. They don't want to be a burden but will be happy to stick around as long as they're loved! Enjoy your time with your father-in-law and wear a mask. Be sure to explain that your wearing one to protect him from you! As an aside, I remember picking up an 88 year old friend for a Doctors appointment and I could tell she felt a little insulted that I came wearing a mask. When I explained that it was for her, I'm certain a tear could be seen.

I don't have allegiance to the US president or watch CNN/FOX but I appreciate the information they provide has a significant impact on your opinions. There is plenty of less biased global information on the coronavirus that supports taking precautionary steps that are effective in slowing the spread of this virus. You do practice social distancing, wear a mask when needed and avoid unsafe venues. I respect you for taking these steps despite your beliefs as to the seriousness of this threat. I also believe there is a lot we don't know about this virus which informs me that we should be even more diligent in doing what we know to reduce the spread.

Money is the deciding factor, imo. . If I was faced with your dilemma, I'd be shopping for a trailer to suit your new 2020 1500 SLT. There are a lot of very nice trailers within the towing abilities of your truck.

Masks are effective in preventing the spread of this virus especially when used properly. Comments like "Take the mask off" are counterproductive. Justifying "no mask" use by claiming reduced oxygen levels for healthy individuals is simple ignorance. Non-compliance to accepted preventative strategies results in unnecessary illness and death. Waiting for an election as a cure is absolutely bizarre! The constant banter about accuracy of numbers and political party bashing is also not proving useful in combating the virus. I do understand that this thread is fueled by provocative statements and it makes us all think about what we are doing. I always prefer to err on the side of caution and I ask that you do the same. Wearing a proper fitting non-surgical mask whenever social distancing (at least 6') may be unavoidable requires extremely little effort. If you are generally healthy and you find mask wearing uncomfortable then shop for a better fit. I tried several types and brands and found the ones sold at Costco to be the most comfortable and least expensive!

Our schools start in September. Growing up and throughout my work career, my body is tuned to the school calendar. By mid- August I start feeling anxious about school start-up even though I retired several years ago! You might say that September is my body's fiscal New Year! I want to send a heartfelt shout-out to all of those members working at, or attending, a school this fall. Hopefully, your school's environment/delivery model has changed significantly to ensure safety for all! I would love to hear any unique changes/ideas/plans that your school has adopted with respect to Covid19 protocols. A positive aspect of this pandemic is it opens the door to change. We quickly and loudly hear about the bad, but there is also good. I've been concerned for years about the crowding in schools and now there is widespread understanding of the downfalls of this practice. As a small example, crowding 400 students and 30 staff into a small elementary school gymnasium was never a healthy idea, imo, but we'd did it several times a year! I'm sure/hope this and similar practices have changed in your schools.

At my current rate, I should hit 250k miles In the spring of 2041 with my V6! Is the cost prohibitive to have your current engine rebuilt or exchanged with a rebuilt from a shop that specializes in engine rebuilding? I'm sure it will be more expensive than you are planning but it may be worth the peace of mind and a warranty.

Sturgis 2020 is another topic on the pandemic. It is highlighted on the nightly news alongside the struggles to keep the pandemic under control. Our news also showed a small group of local protesters encouraging us to fight the virus with hugs, not masks. We also all know of people who subscribe to the George Carlin school of medicine. And of course, there are the conspiracy/political factors determining the path for many. I find the diversity in basic understanding fascinating yet frustrating. The practice of social distancing and mask use are very basic in dealing with an uncontrolled virus. Six months ago, you would not have found me wearing a mask in public. I seldom wore them even when doing filthy renovations. Their increasing popularity caused me to ask questions and research. Sometimes the "anti-mask" literature proved most enlightening. I am not against Sturgis and it has been a long standing goal of mine to park my Harley alongside other attendees. However, if you believe Sturgis 2020 is a good idea, yet angry at all of the Covid19 stuff, you'd be surprised at how basic changes in behavior by the majority of people will arrest the spread. Supporting Sturgis 2020 will only help to prolong the spread.

The non-surgical masks you see in general use are intended to divert the user's breath from spreading their "germs". Masks are particularly helpful during the period of time when the user is unknowingly infected. "Non-surgical" masks provide little personal protection for the user. If you want to ensure your safety, yet choose to stand next to people not wearing a mask, you need a much higher level of protection. There is a lot of medical advice that comes from trusted buddies and/or politicians. However, you will find more helpful information is available to help you determine the safest path. "Masks" vary in their uses and effectiveness. The ones you see worn in the general public help reduce the spread. The informed user will still strive to maintain a distance from others, especially people who are bare faced. The impact of this virus is a global issue and is commonly used as a political football. However, the threat is serious for everyone and there are basic, common sense, steps you can take to reduce the impact to you and your loved ones.

People gathering in large close groups during a pandemic for a social event is a display of selfish behavior and/or ignorance. I think bravery is a term best used for those demonstrating more selfless behavior.

I agree that adults can make decisions as long as they don't negatively impact others. Wearing a mask, for example, isn't for your protection. Your protection is from others wearing masks. The way you can choose not to spread the virus is keeping distant from others, frequent hand washing and wearing a mask in public. You have the right, imo, not to wear a mask or wash your hands if you don't touch anything or get within 6 feet of anyone not living with you Choosing to attend festivities at Sturgis is deliberately putting family, friends and strangers at high risk. I was a fan of the Sturgis event but my opinion has plummeted knowing that it is a go this year. We all know there are people who only care about themselves and providing an opportunity to potentially create a significant spike in our Covid 19 death count should not be passed off as "adult choice".

This reminds me.... Last Thursday I took a friend to a hygienist appointment. He is disabled and cannot put on a mask or get out of the way of others without assistance. Spending a day with such an individual made me appreciate how lucky I am that I can wear a mask! .

The best way to add value to your truck is by increasing equity. The pre-owned trucks that command the highest resale price are usually those closest to factory condition. I love trucks and have owned and personalized half tons since the early 70's. My favorite most exhilarating modification was discovered after decades of buying new trucks, and that was, payment delete!

OEM is definitely the preferred option but aftermarket sensor kits are available. Aftermarket leather would also not be my first choice on a new truck. ?

You can purchase aftermarket front sensors and 360 camera setups as easily as leather.

I went to the optometrist for my annual eye checkup. The Covid19 protocols were very strict but didn't interfere with the thoroughness of my exam. In an informal discussion, my Dr. mentioned that some able patients have been turned away because they don't want to wear a mask. I find it so sad that there are individuals who believe this to be appropriate. Not only do they appear uncaring toward others, they aren't caring for themselves! Eyes respond well to proactive care and are poor candidates for repair when they are broken. Using masks as an excuse to avoid a checkup is double ignorance. I am not using the word ignorant as an insult. I truly believe if these individuals knew the potential benefits of mask wearing and/or proactive eye care, they wouldn't be missing their appointments. If someone you know, is postponing Doctors' appointments because of Covid19, please help them fill in the missing blanks of knowledge.

We are in an area which doesn't have a compulsory mask wearing order. Like most places, such an order receives a lot of debate. I think it's very sad that individuals at this point need to be told to wear a mask when in close proximity to others in public. I know it often takes awhile for everyone "to get the message" but this is ridiculous. Our Costco gives out very comfortable masks at the entrance yet I'd estimate at least half of the patrons are walking around the store bare faced. I appreciate that physical challenges impede the ability of some to wear a mask but the majority of Saturday shoppers at Costco are capable! If you have influence over someone who is too selfish to make mask wearing a habit, please help them get the message!

Funny! In the early 60's my father drove off in someone else's new 1961 Chev Bel Air. It was identical to his. He realized the error when my mom couldn't find a personal item in the glove box!
