  1. Lol. No GM doesn't care that a large portion doesn't like the operation of the tranny Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  2. I'd be part of a class action if one started Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  3. Don't know because I haven't heard of anyone having a tune that solves he problem Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  4. My exact same situation. Get the lube out because GM is handing out a good ass rape for 8 speed owners. Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  5. If you drive an 8 speed and think it's normal and acceptable then you're lucky. My truck doesn't drive like a $55k truck should
  6. That would be a miracle considering the fact that both the dealer and GM care has issued and presented bulletins indicating that harsh shifting will not affect the longevity of the driveline. Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  7. I have HP tuners and have tuned my caddy but my caddy is a manual and I've not done any auto trans tuning before. I would be interested in getting a custom TCM tune because the warranty obviously means nothing anyways when it doesn't cover this issue. Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  8. Here's what GM has to tell me after confirming that it shifts less than customers desire but functions as designed. I'm basically stuck with this truck until my equity is high enough to off load it. This will be my last GM purchase after a good run. "While we regret our review with Preston GMC did not meet your satisfaction, we must respectfully reconfirm our position. We sincerely wish it were possible to resolve every concern to our customer’s complete satisfaction, unfortunately, this is not always possible. Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any additional questions. You are also welcome to return to the dealership for any other service inquiries." So word to the wise, don't buy an 8 speed or any other vehicle without seeing if there are issues the manufacturer is not willing to resolve. Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
  9. Mine's exactly the same! And they've quit trying to help me now stating that it's driving characteristic for the truck!
  10. Thanks for the insight. I've never got mad at anyone. I've just exhausted the service department's abilities. The dealer I get it serviced at is not the same as the dealer I purchased it at because of geographical convenience. I'm also not really interested in downgrading from the 6.2L I love. towing a travel trailer was fun with the power of the 6.2. The shifting drives me nuts. Particularly every single morning down the hill I live on where it feels like I'm being rear ended on my way to work. Is there actually a 2016 8 speed that has no clunks or is it just the way it's programmed?
  11. An update on mine. The clunking is still there and the shop foreman said just keep complaining to GM Customer Care because there's nothing he can do without a software update from GM. He doesn't believe it's a mechanical issue at all. i e-mailed GM customer care a couple of times and they seem to be ignoring my e-mails now. This is a really disappointing situation and now I'm going to have to look for different avenues to get this solved because I'm not happy with the way it drives. It didn't drive like this during the test drive and I expect it not to now. I first logged my complaint at the dealership at around 3000km's and I'm at 11,000km's now and still have the problem. Does anyone know of any other ways to get this fixed? Lawyers?
  12. Hi Julianne, Thanks a lot for chiming in and helping. The dealer ship contacted me yesterday indicating that the transmission adaptives have not fully settled yet after 1500 km of driving since updating the transmission software. They said I should keep driving with the harsh shifting transmission for another 1000km and re-assess. They are also balancing the tires to attempt to fix the shaking issue. I will be picking up my truck later today. I will send you a PM to add that additional layer of support because if I have transmission harshness after an additional 1000km, it will be the third time I've had the truck into the dealership in less than 6500km's. Thanks, Chris
  13. Mine's in the shop since yesterday afternoon for rough shifting and the 'Chevy Shake' at 70mph. Not sure what's happening but I have a loaner 2016 Silverado LT 5.3 with the 6 speed and it seems to shift great!
  14. Is it just me or should there actually be 3 separators on the 6.2L? I see one from each valve cover to the intake and one more from the valley cover to the intake. Are most just joining the valve cover breathers?
