What have you done to your K2 today?
pgamboa replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Sort of. Adding Factory Heat requires 3 things. 1. Heated Seats 2. Wiring 3. BCM Programming With regards to the wiring, we'll have to validate what your truck has present and/or what is absent. The heat/cool module lives under the front passenger seat. There are circuits that go in/out of the front seat and hit the driver seat, BCM, fuse panel, which buttons. So we have to validate what all is there. Determine with needs to be added. Once all the wiring is present, the last piece of the puzzle, is the BCM programming. There is a data circuit in the BCM that communicates to the heat/cool module. This circuit is not enabled. So even if you add all the wiring, you'll have to get the BCM programmed to enable it. So for anyone serious about getting factory seats functional, we can go down the path of the needs. Working on adding Factory Trailer Brake. Trailer Brake signals filter from the switch, through the cluster, and a trailer brake module. So these items with WAMS now getting evaluated for integration. -

Very excited to share this! BCM Programming, finally done! Special thanks to WAMS - www.whiteautoandmedia.com - Hyperflash Deleted - Turn Signal Indicator Failure Deleted - Remote Start increased to 20 Minutes - Remote Start enables (for trucks that don’t bVe remote start) - Fog Lights stay on with High Beams (and have FULL control) - Fog Lights stay on with Intellibeam/Auto High Beam (if equipped) - Tap to Pass (Turn Signal Activation) increased from 3 blinks to 4 blinks - Key Fob - Front Windows Roll Down, Driver (and Passenger for SUVs) will Roll up on key fob lock - Key Fob - All Windows Roll Down (for trucks not equipped) - Heated Seat enable (for trucks that didn’t come equipped with heated seats) - 98MPH Speed Limiter increased Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most power fold tow mirrors will have new lighting features. So if you don’t care about those lights working right, then the heat, power adjust, power fold with be PnP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve had several orders processed in the last month or so with used clusters for $199. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

WAMS did update their cluster programming price to a flat rate of $199 a few months ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kevin, one way to test the light itself is to use a 9V battery or 12V (if you have one) and apply direct power to the light and see if it comes on. Unplug the mirror from the harness and see pic. Apply + power to the cargo light circuit and - power to the ground and see if it lights up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Correct. If you want that compartment hub to work for data/media, you’ll have to omit the glove box USB port. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The USB cable (and how you route it) will likely be the reason. The storage compartment USB hub gets its data feed from the brown USB port in the front. If you looped the signal out of the front hub, to the brown port, that may be the reason. Instead of using the front hub for the signal, use the green port of your HMI and feed it directly to the brown port. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did this to my 2016 almost a year ago. The pump sits below the water reservoir tank. You’ll need to remove the driver side headlight. The pump I used actually came from @Tinkering Fox (Thanks again!). It was a simple fix. I’m guessing if you run these pumps without fluid for a long time, they will fail. Good luck! It’s good to see 2019s have some of the wiring present and tucked away. Wasn’t the case for 14-18 trucks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So the harness in the headliner, I was this an originally unused harness and gets used instead of what plugged in before? From the pic, it looks like it was tucked away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Take the door panel off, unplug the mirror and snap pics of the mirror connector so I can see the pins. Only need to do one side... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@captadamnj Thanks for sharing all the details! Certainly appreciate that! They say you learn something new everyday! Well, I learned that 4 water bottles fit nicely in the rear pocket of the console. Thanks for sharing that! I probably could have saved $150 I spent on modifying mine with another cupholder. LOL I also like the tip of moving your passenger seat all the way forward! Thanks again for the detailed feedback! It’s customers like you that allow me to continue doing what I enjoy! I supply pigtails for that part [emoji4]. It’ll land onto an open position in the connector and my custom harness will be wired for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gotcha. You just snipped the wire for the puddle light itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The CEL is likely because the DL3 mirror doesn’t have an ambient temp sensor on the passenger mirror like your factory mirror did. If you didn’t change your harnesses, your puddle light is behaving like your running light. Which black wire did you cut? Does your turn signal still work on the mirror?
