Towing Mirror Issue
pgamboa replied to Radio-Man-Mike's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
If you can provide some pics of the glove box RPO codes, that’ll help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
You cannot. Mirror has to be memory supported. I suppose if you source the memory motor for each side, and add that wiring (which would be a PITA), it might be doable. But you won’t gain power fold. So just speaking out loud. Lots of factors to consider. Plug types would be different, mounting points too... never mind. Probably can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Towing Mirror Issue

Can you share a pic of the glove box RPO codes? When you turn the headlights on, the amber lights come on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You do have pins 9, 11, and 41 here, So that’s good. You won’t have to worry running any wiring inside the cabin or under the hood. This is what will take care of that. https://harnessdr.com/product/2014-2019-dl3-tow-mirror-upgrade-pnp-harness/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Since I can’t match forum names with customer names, I’m making an assumption here and will say that your order has shipped. You should have received email notifications on them. Thanks again for your support and patience! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think your harness build had a fold switch too? If so, I’m waiting for more of those to come in from GM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did have to migrate the website and email server to a new server last week. That migration went into the weekend as well. But I’m working round the clock to get orders done and shipped as soon as I’m able to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your order is a different build. But is on track to ship early next week. I might even be able to ship this week. Each harness is built based on truck specifics and mirror specifics. DL8 - DL3 is the most popular of the mirror upgrades. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My harnesses are built custom for each truck and the mirrors that are being installed. Guaranteed to be 100% Plug and Play or your $ back. With any other GM harness, figment is not guaranteed and you take the chance of either not having the ability to return or a restocking fee since it’s electrical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bill, Had email issues since moving emails to a new server. I’ll get you a couple of mail pins in the mail today. I’ll also include a pre-terminated pigtail just on case. The tolerance for these are pretty tight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds good. If I recall, when you have your seat and mirror positions where you want them, you press and release #1, then press and release the Set button. You should hear audible beeps. If you don’t, check your radio settings too. If the settings are there, it should work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok. This tells me the previous likely didn’t change the harnesses when he swapped in the mirrors. This doesn’t deduce why your memory set/recall positions buttons are not working though. There might be a need to open the door panel and start exploring. No telling why they did. When you remove the panel, take note of any harness labels. Also, can you confirm that you can adjust both mirrors from the switch without any issues? While the panel is off, check to ensure that the seat memory button harness is plugged in. Lastly, on your radio, in the settings/comfort and convenience section, do you see things related to the seat memory? Like reverse mirror tilt, easy exit, key fob fold? Ok. So seat memory is tied to the harnesses in the doors. So we need to understand what the previous owner did. Have some questions. 1. When you turn your headlights on, does the amber light on the mirror work? 2. When you use the turn signal, does the red arrow only blink? 3. At night, if you unlock the truck with the key fob, does the amber light come on? If you test during the day, you can cover the black dome on the dash to simulate night time. Just wait about 30 seconds once you cover the sensor (use a sake towel). 4. If you press the cargo light switch button, does the white LED light on the mirror come on? This should tell the story of what I think happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey there. I had my website and email moved to a new server to handle the traffic. So my apologies for the delayed email response. Let’s work through this here. So that this info is visible to others. Let me take a look at the message and decipher things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also, if your mirrors are aftermarket, it would be a good idea to test the lighting circuits on them to see how the amber light and the indicator on the glass light work. Some manufacturers tie these together as a blinker only. Some have them separate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Open your door, unplug your door harness from the frame. Inspect the dash side (side with the male pins). Using your phone, take some pics (or a video) so I can see/count the pins. What you’re looking for, are pins 9 and 11. If they are present, then the upgrade will be much easier than if they’re missing. See pic To get the lights to work, there will be a need to either modify your door harnesses and add the missing pins for the lights OR swap them out with a custom built set of harnesses from me. Current pricing is about $1078 out the door with console, harness, usb cables, shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states. But consoles are on severe backorder status right now from GM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
