  1. Not sure but my 16 leer cap had a plug and play t connector that you popped off the wire harness from the back of the 7 pin on the bumper. It sent one wire to the third brake light in the cap and the other was an always on live 12v signal for the dome light in the cap. I asked my leer dealer if it was the same on the 19s and he said no, leer said they had do something different because that method would not work on the 19s. I don't remember the details. Not sure if that helps. All I got for ya. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  2. Are you down south with high humidity? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. That sounds like snake oil. Won't do jack squat. Mold needs moisture and food to grow. I would just keep saying you smell it till four attempts then make your case for lemon law. Off topic but I have had AC condenser mold issues in my cars vents before. You sure it's not that giving you the smell? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. Then what area are they deodorizing? I would not mention the lemon law thing until after the 4th attempt and it still smells. Also keep track of the number of days the truck was at the dealer. Most states it's 30 days cumulative out of service for a lemon Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  5. Also, keep good records. Each supposed deodorizer treatment I would consider a separate repair attempt as far as lemon law is concerned. They replaced carpet that's 1, deodorizer treatment that 2, second deodorizer that's 3. 4th attempt should trigger lemon law depending on your state. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  6. Can you smell from a specific spot or two, or is it just a general smell through out the cabin? It doesn't take long to remove the rear seats. I'd be taking those suckers off as soon as I got the truck home and start pulling up carpet and padding to see what smells Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  7. You need to remember it's business not personal. That is how GM treats it. GM treated me well when I had issues with my 16, which makes this issue with my 19 all the more puzzling that I have to put this level of effort in to try and make it right. Hopefully tomorrow will be a day of great news. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  8. Update. 2 days in my driveway from delivery 16 days truck at dealer 4 trips to the dealer 10 phone calls to GM Customer Care 16 calls to dealership Two attempts to caulk cracks in frame One Headliner ordered and arrived at dealer Several other concerns regarding water damage ignored Several requests to talk with or meet the GM District rep ignored 23 pages of documentation of my correspondence and pictures 14 days until I'm eligible for Lemon Law. Easily 40 hours or more of my own time invested in this. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  9. How long was it leaking for? Did it go back behind the seats? Others are having mildew issues. There is a link to the tsb document earlier in this topic. You should read it. Mine didn't work the first time they applied sealant, then they gobbed on a bunch more which seems to have fixed it for now, but I am going to fight to have the rear window replaced too. I don't have faith sealant will last more than a year or two. Since the likely cause is cracks in the plastic upper rail guide, a replacement window should solve the problem. That is also assuming you don't have water damage behind your seats you don't know about yet. I would still call customer care and open a case number. Good luck Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. Something like this. Check the headliner for water stains. It's possible if it leaks it could drip right behind the seat without even seeing it. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. The dealer gave me a new 19 crew cab lt off the lot. No extended warranty purchased. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  12. When I soundproofed my 16 crew cab this is what it looks like. Assuming the 19 is not much different. The back wall of cab under window has electronics, carpet pad then another rubber type pad behind seats. The floor has carpet pad then carpet. If they replaced your rear floor carpet that means they also had to remove your front seats so check everything looks good there too. When I had my rear carpet pulled up for soundproofing it appeared to continue on under the front seats. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  13. There is also soundproof padding under the carpet. Did they replace that too? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. Also know that the GM senior advisor doesn't really do much more than document your concerns, try to make you feel better, and tell you they are going to email the district rep on your behalf. In my experience so far it would appear internally the district rep is the one that has the power to authorize something above the normal repair procedure at the dealership. I.e. replace carpets/seats/buy back/ extended warranty, etc. I have been requesting for two weeks an in person meeting with the regional district rep but it's like trying to get in touch with a person that doesn't really exist. 15. If I ever get my truck back from my leaking window I'll might have to have the shop down the street do a quick alignment check. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  16. Good info. Did you notice any uneven tire wear on the 4 runner? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  17. Well I have driven my truck plus two brand new service loaners. They all feel to have weak slow speed steering assist. Every corner I go around I have to help the steering wheel back to center. If you let go of the wheel it starts to come back on it's own but not all the way. You need to help it back or you would drive off the road into the curb. So since it's pretty much the same on 3 different trucks, I guess it is just something to get used to vs my 16 I traded in. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. Lots of CBD oil my Friend. Cool customer. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  19. What is the lemon law in your state? Usually it is 3 or 4 attempts and you get a full refund. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. It looks like they applied three times more BLACK sealant to the rear window. Surprised to see it wasn't leaking inside. So it was likely left outside to see it leaked again? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  21. Inch of rain so far today, and still raining hard. Happened to be driving by the dealer. Said no way they left it outside.....with a sign on the window that says "MUST STAY INSIDE" I keep reminding myself to be grateful for two healthy children and a roof over my head. Hey Tiger won big at the Masters today. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  22. And to add salt to the wound just got my customer satisfaction survey...... I have already started drafting a letter to Mr. Sweeney to ask him for his help.... Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  23. The part that bugs me most is GM knew about this issue months ago and didn't have the simple courtesy to alert dealers to check all trucks built before October 1st for this issue. Literally 30 seconds of water from a hose and I had water gushing in. Instead they just let unsuspecting customers drop $45k on a water damaged truck and offer a free caulk, a shampoo, and an air freshener for your troubles. I told GM there are probably 100 people in my family, friends, and work that know about my truck. Everyone of them say "what is Chevy going to do for you?". What story does gm want me to tell? Caulk and an air freshener, or holy crow they bent over backwards and gave me a new truck? There are at least 10 K2 Silverado owners at my office and they are all paying very close attention to how this gets resolved. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  24. Problem solved for under $6, clamp it open. Do that and see if the noise goes away. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  25. Of course nobody from GM got back to me today but my sales guy now says he thought they were still going to try and repair my truck even though everyone from the GM customer care down to the service advisor agreed with me yesterday that a buy back was the best option. Now I get to go all weekend long being pissed off so I can go to work Monday and start my new daily routine of calling GM, calling Service, calling sales, calling manager and getting pissed off all over again. I keep holding out hope that someone will do the right thing. Two weeks in. Little over two more and I can submit lemon law papers. The clock is ticking. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
