  1. i've seen a vid on yt , swapping in the LT cars manifold, complete waste of time.. you have to also order a re-angle TB adapter. and machine your own relocation serp pulley. then you got yourself a revver manifold on a motor that needs more torque upgrades than HP upgrades. might as install the 6.2 cam just do a full 6.2 induction from the TB, Manifold, remove restrictor panel from airbox, 6.2 Cam, and a set of Doug thorly tri-y torque headers.
  2. that's what i would think, but coasting to stop, usually the idle speed is about 800-1000 rpm so it still has a push your braking against. i just cant figure why the brake bias changes when in neutral
  3. i would like to find out more info on this, is there a gm tech bulitin or tech documentation? not even considering panic stop but just regular daily stop and go action, neutral shifting makes the truck feel effortless entering the stop and more relaxing, then when in Drive and having the engine pushing the driveline
  4. i found it interesting and have no idea why, but by shifting to neutral on a 1500 truck , I actually gained more "rear brake bias" durring a stop. I wish i knew more about the brake proportioning system on these truck, 'cause the nose dive brake effect is not ideal. i wish it could be modified somehow
  5. hey did you manage to open up the VLOM unit and inspect the screen to see if its full of trash
  6. he wants manual shifting not manual gear select. your just selecting the final gear it can go into. you have to start in 1st gear manual mode, then you bump the shift button to the next gear.
  7. it works, just separating the engine from transmission durring braking, reduces the push of the engine at 1000 rpm on the drive line, even though its not under load. try it. just dont put it in Reverse...lol
  8. when did GM stop putting in 6 speeds into thier trucks? i thought 2020 models got an 8 or a 10 speed i personally found if I have to brake hard, I will shift into Neutral as this shortens my hard braking distance and it seems to add a little more rear brake bias too, go figure. the internal mass on the 6 speeds is a power hog compared to the older 4 speeds, not to mention the new 8- or 10 speeds, they can suck a ton of hp . but give it a try next time to see for yourself. using manual 4/5th gear also reduces clunk on my truck
  9. I had the same issue start to vibrate at 75mph on most freeways. then I took a trip out to my local dry lake bed, its smooth as glass.... did three passes until I hit rev limiter or speed limiter. not a single bad vibration at all! it was amazingly smooth. so that experiment put to rest any driveline vibrations for me. I recommend going to a dyno shop and try it for yourself.
  10. 2019 base model has nice alloy's on 17" rims, perfect for a 34-35" tire combo. I do prefer the Tahoe K2 PPV rims, they are wider than the truck rims and come in 17" steel
  11. it might be the freeways your driving on. the long wheelbase syncs up with the ripples and waves. = high speed vibration. try going to a smog station dydno and get it up to 80mph slowly. this will confirm the road surface is the variable
  12. this is the K2 forum not the '09 truck forum , your comparing a different computer sytem entirely. its not folklore its fact on my model year. i havent driven a newer T1 yet so i dont know what it does in 7th or 9th gear. no dissrespect taken
  13. fact is I have a 2016 and AFM WILL NOT engage in 5th gear
  14. our trucks already have the Range device built into the software, it's easy to activate, no need to spend $200 for this contraption. just manually shif to the gear that disables the v4 mode. 6 speed trucks is m5 gear. i dont know why people keep buying stuff like this
  15. how was the VLOM screen , did you take that apart yet?
  16. where you able to take it apart and put it back together and get it to function again, or was it damaged?
  17. did you inspect and replace the VLOM SCREEN
  18. i've watch someone do a Dextos test on GM rated oils and they only handle 1-2 weights and fail within a minute makes me wonder why we're using 0w20...
  19. http://www.prestonmoore.com/2018_Sierra_L83/Melling-tech-bulletin-on-GM-LS-Deactivation-Lifter-Issues-3.1.18-1.pdf replace your VLOM screens guys
  20. http://www.prestonmoore.com/2018_Sierra_L83/Melling-tech-bulletin-on-GM-LS-Deactivation-Lifter-Issues-3.1.18-1.pdf most failures are pointing towards the solenoids in the VLOM , could be caused by cheap oils causing sludge and conjestion of flow, blocking the vlom filter, or those super long extended oil drain intervals filling them with junk, or just poor manufactuering
  21. http://www.prestonmoore.com/2018_Sierra_L83/ wonder if tapping into the fog lams would work? its always off and it has a switch you tap to activate, this is also a good option to driving a relay for aux cooling fan for tranny cooler
  22. do a search for the upfitters schematics , pmoore4321 has the PDF's for where to tap into on K2 trucks. message him or go to his website and download it
