  1. you do have a direct injector operating at 1000-2000 psi in there... possible its could shoot high velocity fuel at the pistion if there is a hicup on the AFM on/off sequence?? maybe its sprayed the piston at TDC durring those 32,000 misfires? yet another reason to run your truck in 4th or 5th gear to deactivate the AFM until you need it on the highway
  2. usually a tick means a lifter has collapsed on the AFM. before you panic just do a compression check ..
  3. take it to a smog station dyno and do a real road test on smooth rollers, get a helper to walk around truck while up to speed looking for out of balance stuff. video it too. tires, drive shaft, engine bay, etc..
  4. if you want to take the road surface out of the equation , find a local shop with a dyno or a smog test dyno then spool it up to 90 mph
  5. Richard seems to know his stuff, here's his youtube channel Quality Transmission of Bartow County can be reached at ( [email protected] ) for questions or to arrange to have your parts machined. We are located in the USA 1654 JFH Pkwy Cartersville Ga. 30120 you'll get a much better answer on the HPTuner forum, or LS1.com
  6. what MPH point do you get the vibrations? below 35mph above 80mph between 40-75 mph??? i only vibrate at 80 and higher, and i have a suspision the poorly paved roads are the culprit, need to test smooth highway vs street paved, car pool lane vs slow lane where semis travel. i feel the occilasions are being caused by the wave in the road surface,
  7. i just bring a full 5 gallon jug along for long trips,
  8. i know right,, just wondering what so special . I get by on the cheap tablet and Laptop . maybe HPT was trying to break out with a product before the Bluetooth HPT module came out
  9. so when GM discontinued the 6 speed, they also discontinued the ZL1 driveline in the 8 speed cars? didnt the 2016 SS Camaro has the 8 speed https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15106129/2016-chevrolet-camaro-ss-automatic-test-review/ i would guess its a 2000-2400 stall on the SS, but ask around or look it up
  10. anyone tinker with this product yet? https://www.amazon.com/nGauge-Digital-Screen-Datalogger-HPTuners/dp/B06XW4LHJS
  11. i have to wonder, it might be there are no truck available 'cause no parts are available due to shut down.?
  12. i dont have this issue, must be a breaking in
  13. Anyone try installing the ZL1 torque converter yet? yes, attention to detail is the main focus point on all rebuilds. you can see 90% of the quality of work just by looking at a SHop owners garage.
  14. is the controllers standard in the LTZ, does the LTZ have everything on them? I'm sure you can get the controller with a peg leg model too.. how much is the trail weight your pulling? the G80 is ok for light duty dirt and snow, its not a real locker, it's gov locker. and they are fragile.. i wouldn't consider it a selling point, i would focus more on the Lower geared axles, stay away from the high geared diffs like 3.08 or 3.42. not worth the trouble. get the 3.73 axle if possble and the rest will fall into place
  15. i got a G80 with 3.74 big diff in a 1500, no trailer brake contoller, but i got all the other gizmos, it dosnt have any LT or LTZ markings on the truck, kinda like someone ordered a WT and customized it,
  16. kinda makes sense when the Gov is giving money away to everyone...
  17. this is another good reason to find a truck with at least 3.73 gears, going to a taller 33-34" tire will probably bring you down to the highway effient 3.42 ratio
  18. run the trans in Manual M4-M5 for city driving(disables AFM and improves trans shifts) , then shift to Drive or 6th on the highway (allows v4 mode and full lock up), remove trans thermostat, and maybe install trans cooler. stop using 0-20w motor oil, and try 5w-30 instead, this has solved my oil loss thru the PCV system
  19. good idea. i'll do that!
  20. being cool, and looking cool cost money!
  21. why keep the cats anyways? its a new truck so there are no emmissions for like 8 years. i got a 2016 and never had to smog it. just run it dirty 'til its emmissions time. if you want Perf cats.. the Isuzu NPR HD has extreme high flow cats on the 6.0L LS motor, these things are huge 12" diameter CAI are a waste of money, as the stock system out flows the heads when you pull the restrictor panel out.. I like the idea of swapping out the entire muffler and running a remote turbo, , with no intercooling.. if boosting the TB and Manifold is a cheap fix restriction by swapping to the 6.2 induction. . would luv to see what a 5.3 with the entire 6.2 Induction does, from cam , manifold TB I believe you can flash our ECU's with the S/C vette or Camaro ECU software file for a quick safe tune, after you improve the fuel system to LT4 instead of Boosting, you might be able to make 80-120hp with a stock N/A set up with simple bolt in upgrades. the weakest link is the trans tuning and torque converter i would say $6-8000 would get it done right..
  22. i remember seeing a different proceedure, i'll look around.
  23. yeah how many miles? and how many on the engine, is its still breaking in
  24. maybe your right, ,everyone gets a $600 covid check every week nows its time for a new car.. , here in LA everyone wants a silverado, drove past the car lot today and there are only econo cars, vettes , sedans, but there are a dozen used trucks on the used lot. the new T1 design has wrinkled everyones nose at the Silverado. i saw a guy with a brand new HD SIlverado, it was hideous!!! could it be your right and they sold all the new trucks off the lot? ?
