  1. have you tried odering a set of Tahoe Police intercepter rims. they are 17" rim and 1 inch wider than WT model, and come in black from GM?
  2. try doug thorly tri-y's torque headers...going by Cali emmisions .. as long as you got cats on and the check engine light ain't on , your good!
  3. is the Tundra pushrod or DOHC?
  4. ANy GM techs or non-techs on this forum know how to perform a throttle relearn proceedure?????
  5. no one's buying the trucks on the lots, dealers are hurting. you should get $10K off all red tag trucks. between now and January is discount time. xmas commercials last year offered $10,000 off trucks on the lots here in LA
  6. i would like to get a set of the POlice steel 17" rims, those are wider than the work truck steelies.
  7. for reliability you always want a pushrod motor. ... not sure what they use in the Tundra but the Chevy LS motors are the best out there, and Ram also uses a pushrod Hemi. from past experiences I am not pleased with dodge. and most of the dodge trucks a build with foreign parts like Italy , Istanbul, middle east . Covid -19 and Trumps new protections for America might make getting parts difficult on foreign stuff. you will get more tech support and knowlege from GM products 'cause it's made in America. I hear the Tundra is a heavier truck so milage will suffer. if you tow a lot. i suggest the 2500 HD trucks , no Direct injection, and your confidance will be much higher on long trips with the added towing support, those engines have more torque so less revving the motors, more relaxing to drive with torque instead of HP
  8. yeah thats a good price. 1300-1500 is a bit insane..
  9. how much you pay for those used?
  10. no trans stat, and a 175 engine stat, gives me an operating range of 135-150.. i will be adding a trans cooler and the deep trans pan off the ss camaro next, because i will be towing a camper in a few months, i'm curious what those numbers will yield. if you do hard driving and racing on the street or track, the temp easily climb up to 185-190 with the delete, but if you drive like a normal person you should operate at 145 all day long
  11. from AC delco youtube, the tick noise is a collapsed AFM lifter
  12. knock/reetard had to miss spell it due to censoring the word r***rd
  13. trans juice flows thru the engines' radiator for warm up and cooling of the tranny fluid
  14. just walk into your local chevy dealer, write down on a piece of paper, every thing you want , body style color, gear ratio, engine, driveline. ask to talk to a salesman. give him your search criteria and business card and tell him you want it with in 7 days. and you'll even finance it thru the dealer if he likes. . you'll have your NEW truck for $30,000 with bells and whistles. and that's how it done. you should be $10,000 off MSRP. why waste your time with a used Gov. truck with 100k on it. for $20k that's nuts. the new trucks are not flying off the lots. if you find one with 3.74 rear end , those are even cheaper cause it's percieved poor fuel economy
  15. another tip if your trans "6 or 8 speed" units, is to have the tuner only activate TCC system on the final two gears of the transmission . this will lengthen the service life of the torque converter and improve shifts. on my 6 speed , driving in M4 has much improved shift points with the oem tune when compared to using M5 or Drive. there is also less kick down when going WOT, something worth looking at in the histograms of the tcm. and copyng over to the 5th thru 6th gears for more performance tuners dont exceed 25-30% reduction on the Torque managment. i've read they pull about -5 degrees timing between shifts. more stuff to learn
  16. you can get a used 6.2 motor from a yard for about $2500 with low milage.. while the used 5.3 motors are even cheaper.. pull and overhaul the stock unit after a swap. keep for back up. i might suggest you visit https://www.hemmings.com/ i found some nice trucks with low miles, elderly owned from model years 2000-05 they're all garaged kept
  17. sounds like a month of work, for 2 hours of fun, get disgussted with yourself, try to sell it. no one wants it. send it to the wrecking yard for $500.. lol yeah what a win.. that's another reason I don't like roadkill show. it's all bs for the kids to get sucked into
  18. what's the KR reading on the scan tool while it makes this noise?
  19. stolen from efi live forum. good info to know.. theres a bit of knowlege over there worth studying. https://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?23777-6L80-Reference-Material

  20. you can disable AFM by driving in 5th gear or lower, using 6th gear activates it.

  22. I know, HD truck have the same MPG wether driving in the city, or on the highway or pulling 8000lbs trailer, it never gets worse or better lol
  23. impressive research there grumpster!
  24. i think all 1500 trucks after 2014 have trans stat... if it shifts wierd have the dealer do a "trans re-learn proceedure" and a flush..
