  1. yeah it has the foam attached to it...it unclips from the airbox. you need a pry the box out gently, then grease the nipples so the airbox can pop back into the grommets easily
  2. you guys should remove the airflow restrictor in the airbox its the piece where that foam material is, it just unclips so no cutting is necessary
  3. the Chinese travellers and Chinese Investor are landing in Cali, but everything is overpriced like real estate and business opportunities not functionable here, this is a reason they are moving eastward to where they can smuggle cash out of Asia and burry it out of site of Momma China, and invest in large warehouse tracks, community Church enterprises, etc..etc.. its all about money cleaning and getting they're children out before the big crackdown on them!
  4. 100K deaths is about the yearly flu death rate these past few years
  5. he makes good coffee.. and hot chili too
  6. this is the longest anything made in China has lasted.....?
  7. the latest cure..
  8. you can purchase the Tech2 clone tool from amazon, this will allow you to delete old keys and renumber the new keys, $140 for the tool, do a forum search on here and on YT..for more tecnical spec
  9. they all have a hum or drone, because your removing the resonator wich is what keeps it quiet.. I ilike the sound, and find the Airaid pipe works great and all the pcv lines fit into it.. one trick no one really does is remove the airbox restrictor panel, this increases airflow , but to be honest , unless your running a cam with ported heads, you will not make any more power than stock set up. use the stock paper airfilter it works great, aftermarket filters are shit and probably made in china
  10. very cool , hope it's an easy install
  11. are the tires REALLY out of balance or is GM still using the defective torque converters in the driveline this has been an issue since 2014 ... GM is squeezing suppliers for cheaper components and the suppliers are delivering cheap parts
  12. I wonder if they will have an option for the 6.6L in a 1500 truckLight truck?
  13. 6.6L should work great with the v4 mode, since the cranshaft has been stroked vs the 6.2L.. means your using more torque and sipping more fuel. not to mention great for pulling heavy loads in v8 mode. best gear option is the larger rear diff in 3.75 gears with tow package ,option. i never seen any losses in highway mpg vs the light duty 3.42 rear end. we'll see what mess the GM makes of the transmission, hope they tune it better
  14. install a 180 thermostat if your smart.. my 2012 2500HD trans runs a cool 120 stock, fully loaded 5000lbs trailer up mountain passes will hit 160 stock, no mods.. you new K2 HD's got some bugs to work out. katec sells the 180 motor thermostat , its the only aftemarket unit that works
  15. i regret buying a 2015 Dodge Promaster van!!!! i will never buy a dodge product ever!
  16. for a 2016 truck with the 6 speed I'm seeing 3 different model torque converters. i looked up 2019-2020 and no torque converters are listed https://www.gmpartsonline.net/search?search_str=torque+converter
  17. i'll look up the part numbers for the new 1500 T1 truck and see if it's been updated
  18. i still think the Torque converters are causing all the vibrations in these trucks, I wonder if the new body style still gets vibration complaints, if not check the part numbers for the new model years torque converter, I bet it's been updated.. I dont believe the wheels, tires axles or drive shafts are out of balance. GM knows more but doesnt want to say cause the cost to fix an updated torque converter would be huge across all the K2xx trucks
  19. correct me if i'm wrong but isnt Mobil 1 a 50/50 mix of synthetic and old recycled non-synth oil? I remember emptying a 5 quart jug into a car once , and after looking inside the the empty jug, there was a brownish sludge at the bottom of the can, I was like wtf is this crap!!
  20. have the dealer install a new torque converter, see if this cures the vibes
  21. i recently switched to 5w-30 Redline oil from the 0-20 oil recommended, so i'm curious if this helps reduce the oil getting into the pcv system. i found i caught about a 1/2 oz. shot about every 2000 miles, I never got much oil from the valve covers, maybe a teaspoons worth caught after 5000 miles. average temps is 70 degrees here.
  22. i like the 5-30w redLine so far, no oil consumption issues, and my catch can doest even fill up with oil anymore thru the PCV port, still watching it but looks like a nd clean 3 week after oil change....
  23. are you guys even catching oil with your catch cans? I hardly catch any these days and don't even consume any oil between oil changes...
  24. sounds like its not good to over rev the stock drivelines on our trucks, some of the OE parts are not up to snuff to handle high rpm horsepower.guess you got to go easy on em... call the techs at Circle D transmission, they have rebuilt 6 speed trans for years ,they install the TSB updates and heavy duty upgrade parts for $3000, and its rated at 600 hp.. their Torque Converters are also designed to a higher quality than the GM factory unit, https://www.circledspecialties.com
