  1. I have never removed mine. The driver door is the only one that gets used hard and I have lifted it to vacuum the edges. The top is nasty from winter. I always keep a floor mat down to cover it up anyways.
  2. The other guy is sleeping in the ditch. I thought about salvaging some venison but it was hit so hard I didn't think it would be worth trying.
  3. That truck would be perfect for dumping my pontoon this weekend since mine is in the shop after kissing bambi! lol
  4. Hit one last weekend with my beloved 2019 6.2 quad cab. Doesnt look like much from the pic does it? Over $6K due to all the broken stuff you cant see!!!!! Entire grill assembly and everything behind it, gone. Headlights holding up the repair for two weeks. They still worked but are both cracked from behind.
  5. I've seen the service esc light come on a couple times in two years so it can also be a fluke and nothing to worry about. But not when coupled with an actual problem. My 2019 is my personal reigning champion of weird non-issues. "No, I did not leave the radio on the last time I used the truck!" lol
  6. There are far more people that dont have the problem. 46K on my 19 and dry.
  7. 46k on my 19. Been solid. I did just purchase an extended warranty just in case.
  8. I did some shopping including the suggestions on this site. Ends up my dealer had the best offer. 4 years x 120,500 miles for $2985.
  9. Why would someone pay the price they are asking for these new trucks and not follow the instructions in the manual for break in?!?! I try to follow the break in procedure in the owners manual and that doesn't include hitting the expressway especially for an extended trip. I hear the same thing in recreational forums. "Drive it like you stole it" . Whatever. I've always gone with mfg recommendation on every engine I have owned and I have never had problems. Autos, ATV's, Sleds. This is exactly why I don't buy used equipment. You cant trust anybody to follow directions.
  10. Funny. One time I had a vibration when mashing the gas. After about a week my buddy and I went through everything dumbfounded. I was really down thinking it was a major problem. As I left his house after troubleshooting I made it a couple hundred yards down the road and noticed "IT". Yup, damn thing was in auto 4. Turned it off and problem was GONE. These trucks are still not idiot proof.......
  11. All that torque but they won't let the owner control it. Their torque mgt frustrates me.
  12. Thanks. They both require me to call them so I'll do it next week. My dealer knows I have 45k and is willing to quote me based on 35k. Hopefully others are willing to do the same.
  13. My dealer is offering me the following: 48months/75,000 additional miles - $2985.00 60months/100,000 additional miles - $3752.00
  14. Onstar: this is to inform you your rear wheels spun and you approached redline 4 times today. Please stop being racist.
  15. I have never bought an extended warranty and it has paid off. However I do wish I had one on my 2019. Will I get the opportunity to buy one now that I am past the mileage???
  16. I've had some weird issues in 46k miles but that isn't one of them. I turn of ss when I start the truck. When I forget, it works. A couple of times the navigation quit working stating chip error. The power steering went out for a short time recently and several times during the first 1.5 years the tranny momentarily slipped out of gear then reengaged with a big bang while slowing down and turning right. I'm beginning to wish I had gotten the extended warranty.
  17. I understand now. Thank you.
  18. That doesn't seem possible unless something is broken. This truck has been through two summers and this just happened parked on snow after driving in cold weather. Dealer suggested waiting on diagnosis since its out of warranty and they were not confident in figuring it out unless I bring it in while broken. At least they are trying to save me money.
  19. 2019 6.2 Silverado. 44k miles. Driving on and off all day yesterday then when I left for dinner no power steering. Warning came up on my dash indicating power steering malfunction along with ecs warning. I can't remember the exact verbiage. I cycled the power several time with no change. Since people were waiting on us I drove to our destination in that condition and it was difficult to drive to say the least. Luckily we were in a rural area and didn't have far to go but man was I worried about the 120 mile drive home today. After eating dinner I went out and popped the hood to see if it was something physical. Everthing looked good. Started the truck and everything was back to normal. Been fine all day today. Calling the dealer Monday morning. To think even the most basic systems on these vehicles depend on a computer is sobering. Anything can just quit working out of the blue then work again! ?
  20. Same here and I easily get a year out of them. Probably because my vehicle is so often garaged.
  21. Common denominator appears to be AC Delco filter. I've used nothing but Wix on all my GM trucks and never seen that happen.
  22. Wait 10 min after shutting off warm engine to check dipstick. That will be your true running oil level. Once you have that reading you can see where it's at once it's cold to know where it should be then.
  23. I'll get 3 more opportunities to use it this weekend. Supposed to be -20's sat, sun and mon morning at the cabin. I'll just plug it in later in the evening until I crank it the next morning.
  24. -25 this morning and I was pleased with the block heater. Fired right up nice like I would expect. Made the normal noises I would expect from the belt assembly but the motor moved and sounded normal.
