  1. No, they're not too bright. The license plate lights are not monitored so you won't get any codes.
  2. Those will not work in the license plate lights, you want bulbs that have diodes all the way around on the sides. Below are the VLEDs you want for the license plate: 5K http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbers/194-168-158-led/6-5k.html 6K http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbers/194-168-158-led/6-6k.html Or you can get the Astars on the other page. I have both bulbs-one set in my truck and the other in the wife's Honda. The Astar license plate bulbs were just as good if not better for half the price.
  3. I have those on mine. They were actually better than the 194 VLEDS I bought.
  4. Does anybody know off hand is the 7443 front turn signals on the Silverado are standard or CK base? I'm away from my truck right now or I'd check.
  5. Mine hisses too it's normal.
  6. No, those are what you would handle with a clean side separator. The valve cover lines mainly pull air when the engine doesn't produce much or any vacuum (i.e.; WOT). The aftermarket clean side separators tie these two lines together and route the air intake line to a custom pseudo separator that installs in the oil fill cap. Look here: http://www.eliteengineeringusa.com/content/Catch_Can_Install_Chevy_GMC_2014_5.3L_6.2L_Truck.pdf Edit: I've not seen anyone do a home made clean side setup or use a catch can on it. I wonder if there would be too much restriction for a full blown separator on the clean side to function properly. I have the Elite CC and I'll probably get their clean side setup too.
  7. What? You don't want to be one of the "cool" people in here that posts pics of his catch can contents everytime he drains it?
  8. I tow the pontoon in my sig which is about 5K lbs fully loaded. I've been pretty happy, but not blown away by it. I picked it up in Atlanta and hit some steep grades coming back and truck did great and everything stayed cool. It's much better than my '00 5.3. My trailer is a tandem axle with surge drum brakes on both axles. I'm using a 2" drop ball mount and have Firestone air bags and Bilstein HD shocks coupled with a Hellwig front sway bar. Two things add: 1) With the cover on my boat is a parachute it's so tall and creates so much drag. It tows different than a regular boat of the same weight. 2) You will see all kinds of people mention: I towed 5K 6K lbs and it was like it wasn't back there. That's just BS if you cannot notice a load like that back there then you're simply a bad driver. Measure your tongue weight and dial it in from there. The air bags coupled with more tire pressure and my Bilsteins made it much more pleasant to tow.
  9. My 5.3 Elite kit had enough hose to go from the battery tray to the engine. But there wasn't a lot left over.
  10. I just want it to be able to match real world corner weight scale numbers of the '15 Mustang-not the #'s you read online. It'll be interesting once they get out into the wild.
  11. Not bad, still wish it were lighter. I used to have a heavily modified 4th gen that was an autocross/HPDE car. I lightened it by 200# and that made a huge difference.
  12. Any new data points on Gen V lifter durability with AFM?
  13. I like it... only how much does it weigh? Not nearly as gay looking as the 5th gen. Although I still think the '11+ Mustang looks better. I still wish they would step further away from retro.
  14. Just towed my ~5,000 # pontoon boat to the lake last weekend over the interstate at 65-70 mph and on back roads from 45-60 mph. The Dynomax VT still sounds great with no annoying interior noise-even under load with a trailer and switching into V4. In my past experience, towing amplifies any noise from an exhaust that resonates or drones. *very pleased*
  15. Hood open you can definitely hear it. With the hood closed you can only hear it right next to the driver's headlight. I cannot hear it from the cab.
  16. They are the SAE J30R6 fuel line that came with the can. They seem fine so far, but flow is high enough you can hear the airflow through the hose with the engine running.
  17. I installed the Airaid MIT and am very happy with the quality, fit and appearance. It sounds nice when you get on it, but isn't noticeable during normal driving like my old K&N CAI on my GMT-800. I also like being able to retain the stock airbox and better filtering paper filter.
  18. Just installed the Dynomax VT catback. I'm very happy with the fit and finish. The sound is nice and throaty when you start it up and quiets just enough when it idles down. It sounds good when you get on it and is quiet at cruise. I can only barely detect the V4 mode and it's not unpleasant at all when it switches back and forth.
  19. Elite Engineering can installed, black with AN fittings. Mine came with a black mounting bracket as well. I'm adding braided hose sleeve to the lines next week.
  20. That's what I did. For some reason my iPhone makes all the LED's look not as white/blue. It's freaking blinding.
  21. I just wired the two together by splicing them with a piece of 18 gauge wire. I have LED's in the cargo and reverse and aux LED rigid knockoff backup lights mounted to my hitch. They all come on in reverse and I can hit the cargo switch when at the boat ramp at night or when tying down at night. The aux lights are powered by a waterproof relay triggered by the cargo light wire in the rear. This lets me avoid adding an aftermarket switch to run my lights and also prevents the battery from running down since the cargo switch will shutoff after 15-20 minutes.
  22. Gotcha Chuck, you haven't said anything I disagree with... I just think BlackBear made an unfounded claim or implication several posts back that their tune could not be detected which is not the case.
  23. Arbitration with GM sounds like a guaranteed loss for the owner. So it is completely undetectable to GM or just not obvious without significant digging?
  24. Hellwig has a 1.5" front sway bar available and an adjustable 1.125" rear sway bar. I've already ordered both. A lot of people just install a rear on the trucks, but there are huge gains to be made up front as well. I'm hoping these combined with new shocks will put the truck where I want it. But the shocks still have to go.
  25. Can anyone else confirm this? I thought the dealer/GM could tell if it was flashed.
