  1. Part of that terrible girl economy is my wife's lead foot. lol The etorque is a gimmick for fuel economy, but it really helps with pulling power. That extra torque at idle is great for towing. But if I were to buy a ram, it'd probably be a 2500 Power Wagon. I'd definitely give you hr F250 Godzilla a look as well. I drive diesel trucks for a living and want nothing to do with them after work, so I'd love a big block gasser.
  2. I wanted off-road tires, but didn't want K02s or anything that hardcore. I have a SxS for that. Ended up with BF Goodrich Trail Terrain TAs. Aggressive tires, but they have good road manners. They are quiet and didn't affect my fuel economy much. Also, they were a new tire at the time and were on sale. Mine are 18s btw.
  3. Easy answer, cuz we bought it already. 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie. My wife and I both like trucks and can afford it, so she traded in the Trax for a Ram. It's better in nearly every way. More reliable, better sound system (Harman Kardon), plenty of space, cooled seats, etc. It's a CCSB which is a bummer, but that is what she wanted. I get better fuel economy in my double cab Silverado with the 6'6" bed and am far faster, but the Ram is the etorque and launches so hard that I get whiplash. Either way, here is the better truck to kill miles in, even if the hybrid motor only gets 15mpg highway.
  4. Interesting. Makes me wonder if we can do some mods to these trucks without a tune and still get some results? I'm thinking catback exhaust, this ported manifold, and headers. Can't imagine it would set off a check engine light, at least for long. When I first ran e85, it turned it on for about an hour, but then went back off once the engine learned the fuel. Might have to try this. For an additional 10-20hp, that's a cheap upgrade.
  5. It makes wives bitchy. It's more responsive to small throttle inputs, which mine notices and then uses as an excuse to chew me out. I've learned to save sport mode for.my own time. I think everyone already covered what it does. Once we crack the ECM, I'm hoping HPTuners and Trifecta can have the sport mode be the ARM state for the tune, so I don't have to turn cruise on and off. That gets old.
  6. The new C8 Corvette uses the same ECM and the aftermarket will have it unlocked within weeks of launch. It was only on the ZR1 for the C7 generation, so there was little incentive to crack it for the dozen guys who would want a custom tune. Now that it is on the Corvette, trucks, and Blazer, it will get a lot more eyes and keyboards on it. I'm not too worried. Just a waiting game. This guy wants a big cam and eventually a blower. ..
  7. It's a shame they made it so difficult. The aftermarket seems to be suffering for it. Nobody is making parts for the T1s yet since they can't be tuned sucks
  8. Used to be a mod over at CobaltSS.net, so I do as well. One of my buddy's at the time was a Trifecta tuner and owned an 09 CSS Turbo sedan. Damned thing roasted tires in 3rd. He took it up to top speed in no time at all. I wanna say it was making 430whp. Those LNF motors are incredible. Shame they gave the Cruze the putrid LE5 1.4L.
  9. Yep. My 2017 Cruze had it free, but my 2018 Trax and 2019 Silverado make you pay for it. Ridiculous.
  10. I actually wanted a turbo 4 Silverado, but there weren't any within 300 miles of me. So I went with the 5.3L V8. Fuel economy is fine for what it is. I'm averaging 24mpg highway and about 18mpg city. But I definitely miss the turbo bov noise from my Cruze.
  11. Agreed. They sound identical. I'll probably just straight pipe mine. It's cheap and sounds great.
  12. Yep. Federal requirement for 2017 and on, iirc. Makes turn signal more visible. Also the same reason the got rid of amber turn signals. Not as visible as red. I do believe the headlight in the side of the signal turns off as well on some vehicles, though I don't think it's a requirement.
  13. Edit: disregard that. Didn't see your bill picture til later. Still overpriced at 135, but far less so than 400. 400 to install fog lights? That's insane. Maybe worth an hour of labor, but that's way too much. All you're doing is removing the old bit, installing it, plugging it in to the harness, and then replacing the blank switch in the cabin with the one provided and likely adding a fuse. They wanted 2 hours of labor to do the in channel deflectors. I laughed and had them on myself in 5 minutes.
  14. It's 92 here in Ohio today and I'm ice cold. Must be a leak in your system, op.
  15. $35,000 before TTL or interest. This includes my trade-in loss of $3,000 on my Cruze. The warranty was about up and they are horribly unreliable after 60,000 miles, so I traded it in at a loss. Truck had an MSRP of $47,835 with all options, so I feel like I got a great deal. We're going to replace the Trax in a couple years with another truck. Probably a crew cab GMC with the 6.2L this time, unless they come out with a TTV6 to rival the Raptor's Ecoboost. I'd be on board with that. As an aside, don't buy a Trax. Older version of the unreliable Cruze 1.4L motor and transmission with even less grunt. Get the Terrain or upcoming Trailblazer and enjoy the 2.0L turbo with nearly twice the power and torque. It's comfortable, but so slow compared to the truck.
