No, had a 1971 Chevy and a 2007 Chevy and both were rock solid with well over 150k miles and still running. However the 2019 TB had waaay too many issues in this first year/15k miles and I bought it late in the MY (June 2019 build). Thanks to COVID I sold it with barely taking a hit but the time I spent at the Chevy dealership waiting for their crappy shuttle or getting sent to Enterprise for a loaner I will never get back.

Sorry I couldn’t find the paper they gave me with the part number, but here’s the TSB they used to fix the creak with a leaf spring “insert”. Whatever that means.

My point was using 1930’s suspension technology and still being unreliable. I’d buy the “tried and proven” if it wouldn’t make funny noises. let me find the work order and see if I can get you the part #

I would recommend against injecting anything if your truck is still under warranty. Mine had the same creak on the driver side at 10k miles and when brought it in they said it was missing a bracket or something from the factory. It was some part because they had to order it. It did make it go away but of course after a couple months the passenger side started doing it. Bring it in, have them fix it. Another example of GM cost cutting and lack of quality control. Never mind the ancient suspension...

Exactly, I thought loosing 4.5k wasn’t too bad given I drove the truck for 1 year and 15k miles. My truck is more of a weekend toy hauler and with two newborns don’t have much time for toys so I can wait out the craziness without having to get another one right away. Btw - dealer who bought it listed it for 55k the same day, I figured they would ask 50/51 but had no idea they would be that greedy, wow. But maybes that’s just really what the market will pay right now!!

Funny, I literally just sold mine to the dealer today, 19 fully loaded TB MSRP 60k that I paid 51k for in July 2019. Dealers best offer was $46.5k. I honestly couldn’t believe it but needless to say I jumped on it and it’s not mine anymore. Same as you, my truck has been messed with too many times with as recently as this week they replaced the rear window and entire headliner, AGAIN. The build quality of this truck has been abysmal for me and it’s had way too many issues for me to keep long term.

Same here, I was parallel parking on an incline street. Reverse. Put truck into D, apply throttle, nothing happens. I look down to double check I didn’t accidentally put it in neutral. SLAM! My wife and I both thought we got rear ended that’s how hard the truck jerked. Was just glad I wasn’t too close to the car in front or I could’ve seriously hit them. Add that to a whole slew of other problems I’ve had with my 19 TB

That’s a relief, thanks. This truck hasn’t been trouble free to say the least and glad I don’t have to add this to list. So just spray the stuff on the rusty parts? I’m also not sure how much of it to get, a can is 15$ but then shipping is too so was thinking to get a case but I likely won’t use it all.

I thought I hit something driving today and decided to check underneath (for the first time.. I know..). Two things got me concerned: 1. There’s seems to be some “bubbling” on the part of the frame(?) could it be they screwed up and painted/coated while moist? Or is this normal? 2. I noted a very distinct checker pattern of rust on 4 corners of the frame (Showing pic of 1 but they’re on all 4 sides in the same location). Looks like something scratched/imprinted from a lift(?) Should I be worried? Needless to say all I’ve done is take it to the dealer for the numerous issues I’ve been having so if anyone is at fault it would be them (or the factory). 19 LT TB, 13k miles, only had the truck for 10 months (custom ordered and delivered in July 2019)...

Thomcat, I think in your last pic you can tell its a different DRL (LED strip is much narrower than the HC/mignight headlights).

I have a non-midnight black LT TB and these headlights look notably different. The headlights in the pic look like the headlights of HC trim (thicker DRL and LED turn signal).

Yes! I’ve had the same issue on my 2019 that started last summer when I first got the truck. The dealer said it was normal and he had it in every car he owned. Well, I never had it in any car I’ve owned, not even a 15yr old junker so he must be from another planet. I didn’t have time to deal with it and once the hot weather went away, so did the smell. I do plan to take it in again this summer if it comes back. I’ve only had it smell on 90+ degree days. Does yours smell all the time?

Thanks for the tip to let them know right away. I actually took it back just now so that service advisor could see it for himself and make a note for next time. He had the tech look at it and apparently the headliner fix is a bit more involved where they have to take the pillar covers back off and glue back to the roof *sigh*. Nothing surprises me anymore..

Mine was “caulked” and got the truck back today after a week a the dealership. First thing I did is put the hose on it and it seems to be dry. My leak was very small compared to some, but was able to reproduce it every time I put a hose on the roof. Seemed like it was leaking through the third brake light area on the driver side only. I really hope it holds up but reading here doesn’t give me much hope. One thing I noticed is I don’t think they put the headliner back correctly, is it supposed to sag in the middle? Looks like they forgot a clip... not a huge deal and will probably deal with it when going back for my next oil change.

Thanks yes I found those as well, but couldn’t find any blacked out Z71 badges for our trucks. Sorry, I think you read my previous post differently than what I was trying to say lol. Even Chevy accessory store has the LT and Silverado blacked out badges. As far as Z71 badges, I was only able to find them for older style trucks/Suburban’s on Amazon/eBay. Looks like only option is to look into plasti dipping, at least for now...

Never plasti dipped anything lol but sounds like I should look into it. So there’s no replacement parts like for the tailgate LT and Silverado letters?

I’d like to replace the chrome/red Z71 side emblems with blacked out ones on my LT TB. Does anyone know of a good replacement part? originally I was going to remove them entirely but my clear bra is cut around them so I’ll need to put something there that’s the same size as the OEMs....

After following the posts here I decided to put a hose on the rear/spoiler area and yep, water is leaking through - only on the driver side but the area behind the rear seat back is wet, wonder how long it’s been going on without me noticing. Seems not as bad as some of the pics posted here with entire back seats covered in water. LT TB Mexican made, May 2019 build.

Winter fun

So today I start the truck, put it in drive and guess what... the “service 4wd” message goes away. Drove it 200 miles back home and message didn’t come back. Go figure.. fingers crossed it was just a one time glitch.
