  1. Couple more pics before the hood was painted
  2. $700usd (900cad) on their site. I live in Alberta and would have spent 1900 canadian to get it brought up to me. I drove from Edmonton, Alberta to Chino, Ca and picked it up. Then went to LS Fest in vegas to justify the trip lol
  3. So since I have the afe magnum stage 2 intake which is a open box intake and has like a 2” gap between the box and hood, it sucks in lots of hot air. How much? I have no idea. I really wish I had a IAT sensor to test stock vs afe intake. So i decided to buy a new hood with a functional ram air duct. Picked it up over 2 months ago, spent a month waiting for the shop to paint it as they were back logged. Got it back a couple weeks ago and it looks pretty good. I asked them to paint the mesh grill black as it was a stainless color. They did there best but not much material for paint to stick to so i was told it would chip away over time with the sand/gravel our city uses during winters. i went to 3 shops for paint quotes and 2 of the shops said it was the best fibreglass hood they have seen for fitment wise. Normally fibreglass hoods fit horribly but this one is pretty good. Once i got it back it took me about 30mins to get the gaps on either side even and the latch adjust right. There is no plastic trim in the front so the latch release will now be exposed to the elements so its best to use white lithium grease every now and then. There are 2 water drainage holes at the front of the duct, i havent driven in the rain yet so not sure how well they work. As mentioned above i wish i had a IAT sensor to see if this changes at all. My original plan was do a 1/4mile drag race run before and after, did a before run with the afe intake and stock hood and ran [email protected] but then discovered the next week i had a bad lifter. Lifters on both banks and 1 push rod were replaced so not sure how that alone will effect my “after” 1/4 mile times. One of the other things I got this hood for is to hopefully get rid of the constantly water splashes on the windshield from the channels on the oem hood. That drove me nuts after it finished raining.
  4. I brought my truck (2019 6.2/10speed at4) in for a rough downshift from 4-3. I got called 2 hours later about a failed lifter, never caused a check engine light and sounded like that. Dealership discovered a failed lifter and bent push rod. They got permission from gm to replace both banks of lifters. Got the truck back yesterday and runs like new.
  5. thats most likely what it does as i never see water on the actual bed.
  6. mine sits behind the gate unless i release the cover latch, close the gate and then push down the cover to latch it down.
  7. Sounds like it was installed wrong. I installed mine and the tailgate works flawlessly.
  8. 2019 AT4 with the 6.2/10speed, coming up on 61,000kms and not a single issue with the engine. First winter i owned the truck i kept getting "service 4wd system" and my wireless charger wouldnt work. Those are the only issues I have had with my truck. Only mods i have is AFE magnum intake and a JLT oil catch can. I change my oil every 10,000kms.
  9. I just removed a set of hakkapeliitta 7suv studded off my rims in 275/60R20.
  10. I swapped to my winter wheels/tires between the 1st and 2nd attempt and it made no difference.
  11. Got it sorted out. Took the dealership 3 tries to get the alignment right. Last one they just adjusted the toe
  12. So i booked my 19 AT4 in for an alignment since i removed the lift kit and went with bilstein 5100’s for a regular sierra (multiple reasons why i dont want the lift kit and why i went with a at4). So brought it in and first thing that pissed me off was they didnt give me a spec sheet. After asking for it i got it but they didnt record the before spec. So i leave, noticed the steering wheel is slightly turned to the left when going straight and if i straighten it, it pulls right. I called the dealership to rebook to get it fixed. Dropped it off and picked it up today. Got a call its fixed and the tech took it for a test drive. I pick it up and its still not fixed. I am taking the roads crown into effect but its still messed up and wasnt before i brought it in for the first alignment. So here I am, waiting for them to get the foremen to go for a test drive with me and see where we go from here. I was gonna do it myself but quickly realized there is no drag link on these electronic steering systems. what is the issue here? Is adjusting the toe the only way to align the steering wheel with the wheel now?
  13. The thing is you see posts about all the failures but you dont see all the posts with no failures. I am at 52,200kms and haven't had any issues
  14. Funny, i have a AT4 and just installed bilstein shocks front and rear and removed the life kit. I installed base sierra cv axles in the front. The length is the same but the housing part that goes into the diff is slightly smaller.
  15. Did anyone say they cant afford the fuel? Does worrying or curious about the fuel economy mean you cant afford the truck? I guess my bank account didnt realize that. Dumbest thing i have ever read. Would you rather a truck that gets decent fuel economy or a truck that you have to fill up every 100miles on a long trip?
  16. Look in your fender area, there is no air flow in there and its not sealed off from the engine bay, so its sucking in cold air from the factory snorkel and hot air from the fender. If there was cold air coming in through the fender and it was blocked off from the engine bay, it would be great.
  17. As i mentioned above, s&b isnt a true enclosed as its sucking hot air from the fender.
  18. my 2019 ram with a afe intake had a outline on the padding under the hood from the intake box. So you can defiantly tell it was sealed.
  19. yea i live in alberta so temps are on the cooler side. If anything, sucking in abit of hot air from the engine bay will help when its -40*c. The afe intake i have sure does let the engine growl.
  20. I’m no expert but the s&b intake design is less efficient at being a “cai” then stock. The extra intake ports on the side to grab air from the fender, but there is no air flow there, nor is the engine bay sealed off from that section. Looks like it draws in more hot air from the engine bay then a open box housing.
  21. Yes, i rarely go off road so no need for AT tires. That being said, i picked these continental tires up for cheap and they suck. 10 ply, LT tires, heavy, solid and loud as hell. Will be replacing them after the winter.
  22. 8000+Km trip from Edmonton, Alberta to St Thomas, Ontario with some day trips in between. Truck did pretty good overall. Except for the cel that popped up just over 1000kms from home. Stopped at a dealership to get the code read and it was camshaft position sensor. I am hoping it has nothing to do with a lifter failure. I was stretching my oil change, normally do them every 10,000km and just did it this morning which was 12,495kms since the last one, oil life meter was at 0% for like 500km. I have the 6.2L but ran 87 octane and more then a few times did wot pulls to pass traffic, that was 1000km + before the code popped up so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Fuel economy overall was 11.2L/100kms with avg speed around 115kmh Emptied my JLT catch can when i got to my buddies place in St Thomas and it was completely filled when i emptied it this morning. Maybe the cause of the code? What happens when a catch can is full?
  23. Its mainly semi trucks that are flashing me. Had a bunch last night, even though they clearly seen me turn my high beams off when they came within range/sight of my lights.
  24. Get my headlights adjusted…gee, why didnt i think of that.
