  1. 2016 with center console has two up front. 2019 with center console has two up front and two in the back. The two in the back are for rear seat passengers, but are easily accessible by the people up front. My wife and I use all four...two for latte/tea and two for water bottles.
  2. My 2016 LTZ has two cup holders in the center console vs four cupholders in my 2019 LTZ.
  3. I'll take my 2019 LTZ over my 2016 LTZ any day. Actually, I still have the 2016, but I like the 2019 much better.
  4. I get my 5 quart jugs at Walmart and my quart 6 pack at Costco when it's on sale for $27. I also get Mobil 1 filters from Amazon by the six pack. Then I change the oil in my garage and know it was done right. I let the oil drain for half an hour, so the crankcase is about as empty as it gets. Obviously that doesn't happen when you pay to have it done, so you have plenty of dirty oil left in your engine. Go to any forum and you'll see plenty of horror stories about dealers, jiffy lubes and independents totally screwing up a simple oil change. I pass by the landfill every week, so dumping the old oil for free is no problem.
  5. Behind the rear license plate is where the trailer TPMS receiver is. But it's not as easy as installing one and plugging it in. You need the advanced trailering system in order for the receiver to work and it's not an option you can add aftermarket.
  6. Don't come to Alaska if you want to buy a 2WD truck. It's been decades since I last saw a new one on a dealer's lot. Every single truck is 4x4.
  7. At that price I doubt you'll go an entire night without it deflating on you.
  8. In today's seller's market I doubt he'll get that call. It'll just go to the next person in line. There are virtually no new trucks on any lots in my area. I was looking at 3/4 and one ton HD models and the biggest dealer in the state had two 3/4 ton trucks and one one ton truck on their web site a week ago. I'm guessing they were gone within minutes of being posted. I just looked again and there are no 3/4 ton trucks in stock or in transit and two one ton trucks, both in transit. The three from last week are all gone.
  9. My 2016 Silverado had almost $5000 of add-ons, but they hadn't been installed yet, or if they had been, I wasn't charged for them. The factory sticker was $52,430 the dealer sticker was over $57,000 and I was out the door for $36,622 plus $280 for title and two year registration. The truck was brand new, with 12 miles on the odo, and I had no trade-in to obfuscate the true purchase price. Jeep dealers also like to do this, but I special ordered mine and told them no add-ons.
  10. California dealers have people over a barrel, because you can't just run across the state line and get one in AZ or NV. Well, you could, but guess what happens when you try to register a brand new truck with FE9 federal emissions in Cali.
  11. Garmin GPS and Rand McNally road atlas both work in non-service areas.
  12. I have a 6 speed in my 2016 and I have no problems with it under any condition. Same goes for my 2019 10 speed.
  13. I have the Leer plug and play harness in my 2016, but when the dealer wanted to splice into my 2019's wiring I said no. This was in 2019, so I wasn't interested in being a guinea pig. I got a tonneau cover instead. No problems with the plug and play harness in my 2016 after almost five years. I have the advanced trailering system in my 2019, but I did not know about the harness incompatibility issue with that. My big concern at the time was my power down/up tailgate, which could only be operated with the canopy back glass in the open position. Every canopy has a lip on the rear glass that prevents the tailgate from being opened, which is fine if you have a manually operated tailgate, but doesn't work with the power tailgates. I imagine this will be resolved at some point in time in the future, but it wasn't in 2019.
  14. I have navigation in my 2016 and I hardly ever use it. I don't have navigation in my 2019 and I don't miss it. For those few times I do need nav I just use Apple CarPlay. It's actually a much better way to navigate.
  15. Basic LTZ with 6.2L engine and 10 speed tranny and max trailering package. I have the basic technology package with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, as well as the moon roof.
  16. My LTZ does not have factory nav.
  17. EL-50448 relearn tool. $10 to $15 on Amazon. Just make sure it's for GM vehicles.
  18. The problem with that figure is it's based on a 10 percent tongue weight. A travel trailer will be closer to a 13 percent tongue weight, meaning you'll exceed hitch weight limit if you try to tow 11,900 lbs.
  19. My max tow LTZ has 1910 lbs of payload. But you need to look at the yellow driver door jamb sticker of each truck you're interested in in order to get the exact payload capacity of that particular truck. But the real question is, how much does your trailer weigh fully loaded? Multiply that amount by 13 percent for a WAG on your tongue weight if it's a travel trailer you're looking to tow. Too many people try to push the extreme limits of a half ton when they really should be looking at a 3/4 ton or one ton.
  20. Those of you advocating buying a vehicle in another state have no idea what would happen when going to register the vehicle in Cali. Just try and register a brand new vehicle purchased out of state.
  21. I never let the dealer change my oil, especially if it's "free". Same goes for jiffy lube places and independents. I do my own and have never had an issue in 50 years.
  22. My 2019 with the 6.2 and max tow has 4LO.
