  1. Both my 2016 and my 2019 came out of Mexico. No problems with either one.
  2. All we have in my area is 90 octane ethanol-free premium. Can't get anything with ethanol in it. My 6.2 seems to run just fine on it.
  3. My truck is parked outside for right now, so I don't program the Homelink for just that reason. If I have a vehicle that's parked outside for just the night, I lock the garage door with the the lockout button on the wall mount opener. For easy access to my garage, I use a smartphone app that allows me to open the garage door from anywhere I have cell service. Something to consider the next time you replace your garage door opener.
  4. I never take them up on their "free" oil changes. I've heard of too many oil change horror stories at dealers, jiffy lubes and independents. I do my own, so I know it was done right and I actually got the synthetic oil I paid for.
  5. There's no reason why it shouldn't. I bought a similar one off of Amazon that works with GM and Ford vehicles and it programmed my trailer TPMS sensors without any issues.
  6. I ran mine down to Empty while driving through New Mexico. I wound up on a bypass that had me also bypassing all the gas stations where I had planned on refueling. I foolishly assumed there had to be a gas station somewhere up ahead. But as the gas gauge kept moving toward "E", I began to start sweating, as I was also pulling a trailer and I was gaining elevation, causing the remaining fuel to disappear even faster. Sweating profusely, I finally found the only gas station within 70 or 80 miles in either direction. It took me 23.25 gallons to fill up, meaning I was down to my last 3/4s of a gallon. I'll never do that again. In the future, if I have to, I'll turn around and go back
  7. Interesting. I had mine installed a couple of months ago and have had zero problems. I used a learn tool that I got off of Amazon for $15. My next step would be to have the dealer reflash your truck's computer module. I'm assuming you have created a trailer profile and followed all the programming steps in the owner's manual, otherwise it wouldn't have worked to begin with. So, for whatever reason, your truck is dumping the retained memory every time.
  8. If you plan on doing any towing or hauling, I'd pass on the Tundra. They have ridiculously low payload capacity and are best suited as an overpriced grocery getter.
  9. I've had this problem too. I have found two things that work. One, I reverse the plug at the phone end. Two, I use the USB port in the back of the console. That one always works, although now you can't use CarPlay, which I only use for Maps, which is almost never. I also find that the phone charges if I turn it on after I plug it in. It's when I just plug it in that it won't charge.
  10. I live at sea level and all our premium fuel is 90 octane. You literally cannot get anything in a higher octane. Every pump is 87, 89 and 90.
  11. Payload capacity is not determined by axle capacity. Payload capacity is GVWR minus curb weight. The yellow sticker on the B pillar shows the payload capacity from the factory. Every time you add any accessories or options, that counts against the factory payload capacity. My 2016 Silverado came with a 1572 lb payload capacity. My current payload capacity is 1310 lbs. The 262 lb difference is the weight of my canopy, air bags, side steps and bed floor mat.
  12. I have the Max Trailering option and my rear axle gross is only 4150 lbs.
  13. My 2016 5.3 and my 2019 6.2 both call for 0W-20.
  14. They worked just fine on my travel trailer.
  15. I never let the dealer touch my vehicles unless it's a recall or warranty item. I had one car come with free lifetime oil changes. Still wouldn't let the dealer touch it. I never took GM up on any of their free oil changes. I've heard too many horror stories about dealers, jiffy lube places and independents screwing up a simple oil change. I do it myself and it gets done right. And I know I'm getting the Mobil 1 oil I paid for, the oil filter was installed correctly and the drain plug wasn't tightened with an impact wrench. Actually, I have Fumoto oil drain valves installed on all my vehicles, which makes oil changes even easier. And I can change the oil in my garage much faster than I can get it changed at the dealer.
  16. I use Mobil 1 0W-20 and a Mobil 1 M1-212A oil filter. I'm not quibbling over a few dollars on a $50K truck.
  17. I bought a nine-pack of Bullrings for each of my trucks. About $100 for a nine-pack. They work great and they retract, unlike those GM tiedowns. I'm not going to quibble over a few bucks when I paid almost $85k for my two trucks. Going cheap almost never works out in the end.
  18. I just washed my 2019 and it was bone dry inside. I sprayed plenty of water from all angles to see if I could get it to leak. Nothing. It's just like my Jeep Wrangler. Lots of people complain about leaking where the freedom panels sit, but I can't ever get mine to leak.
  19. 2019 and newer don't have a spot for 2nd battery. At least not if you have a 6.2L engine. My 2016 with the 5.3L does have a spot.
  20. My 2 speed case also has an Auto position for full-time 4WD operation
  21. Mine seems to be pretty accurate.
  22. I just towed my trailer 300 miles yesterday and temps were in the low to mid 70s. Pressure went from 65 psi cold to upper 60s. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything indicating when over temp or underinflation warnings pop up.
  23. It won't work if you have your fob in your pocket. The fob needs to be out of range, otherwise the truck thinks you're the one disconnecting the trailer and won't sound the alarm.
  24. You do need to activate the feature for it to honk. Default is deactivated..
  25. That's what I was thinking. Our premium is only 90 octane at all gas stations and I have no knocking issues at all.
