  1. I have 1000 lumen LED backup lights in both my 2019 and 2016 Silverados and I can see clearly when backing either up. I have never had the infotainment screen brightness cause any problems for me when using the mirrors in either truck.
  2. Because what you think is a stock controller is in reality nothing more than a mechanical switch. The brains are elsewhere in the truck and if your truck didn't come with a factory controller you don't have the brains. An aftermarket controller is the mechanical switch and the brains all in one package.
  3. No idea. I have never noticed it on my 2019 6.2 vs my 2016 5.3 with AFM, which I do notice deactivating/activating at times. Fuel mileage does seem better with the 6.2.
  4. Well, there is a temperature threshold. When it's below a certain temperature, the heat comes on, When it's above a certain temperature, the ventilation fan comes on. There is a temperature zone where neither comes on. This assumes you have both features activated in the settings menu. After all, who wants a warm seat when it's 115° or the ventilation fan going when it's -15°?
  5. My seat gets nice and toasty warm. The only thing is, only the seat bottom heats up, but not the seat back, which is dumb.
  6. Go to Settings in your infotainment screen. Don't forget to also activate seat ventilation for next summer.
  7. Zero sales tax and free lifetime registration for me!
  8. That's odd...my filler port is on the right side and the rubber plug for the DEF is on the left. And mine is also a 6.2L.
  9. Thanks! First time I've seen them.
  10. I'd be happy if I could find tow mirror extensions that were made for my 2019. All I can find so far are universal fit extensions, and that ain't happening on my truck.
  11. I have one one my 2019 6.2. It's the same 107 used on the 5.3. I use the F107N and attach a 12 inch piece of clear vinyl tubing. I've been using the Fumoto for decades on every vehicle I own and I've never once had an issue with any of them.
  12. If you get CANBUS compatible LED bulbs you should not have a problem.
  13. I got my reverse LED lights from Amazon for my 2019 LTZ and have had no issues. I have the same lights in my 2016 LTZ and have had no issues with those either. Both sets are 1000 lumens and they make it much easier to see at night when backing up. I think the parasitic drain issue is way overblown.
  14. $10 a month doesn't get you anything. $15 a month gets you remote access and the top tier plan costs $59.99 a month. That's right at $720 a year! Which is crazy. And that's for just that one vehicle. Have two GM vehicles? Double the price. I have AAA, which includes towing my travel trailer, and a cell phone. And it covers any vehicle either my wife or I am driving. OnStar was a gimmick when it was first introduced in 1996, but that was during the early years of cell phones. Now with just about everybody having a smart phone, OnStar is way past its prime.
  15. I also e-mailed Leer about a building a cap that would allow the tailgate to open and close without the back glass being open, and I also never got a response. Apparently Leer doesn't feel it's important to respond to potential customers. But all the current designs show the back glass having a lip that extends downward over the tailgate, which means there is no way to open the tailgate without first opening the back glass. Which is a shame, as a lot of times opening just the tailgate is all I really need. I do have a Leer 100XR on my 2016 LTZ and I've never had any problems with it.
  16. I have five vehicles with individual TPMS readout and I've never had an issue with any of them. Tire pressure is always within a pound of my Accutire digital tire pressure gauge. Only two are GM vehicles, and no problems ever with either one.
  17. I'd be very surprised if the 2020 with ACC didn't have the option to switch over to conventional cruise control. I have two vehicles with ACC and both allow you to switch over to regular CC. The owner's manual should have instructions on how to do it.
  18. Auto Stop Eliminator. Permanently keep auto stop turned off.
  19. I let all that crap expire on my 2016. Never missed it once. The fob remote start is all I ever "needed".
  20. 2019s don't have RPO codes in the glovebox anymore. It's on the door jamb and you need a QR reader.
  21. HP Loss = (elevation x 0.03 x horsepower @ sea level)/1000. 7000 x .03 x 420/1000 = 88.2/420 = 21% loss. I'm still pumping out more horses than a 2.7. I imagine it's the same for torque. And I have that 3.42 rear end.
  22. I know this is an older post, but I pull a trailer in the 5 to 6 thousand pound range and my 5.3 was straining when crossing mountain ranges. And the trans temp was over 200° going uphill. No way would I ever try to tow that much with the 2.7 unless it was short distances over flat terrain. That's the whole reason I upgraded to the 6.2 and max trailering package.
  23. Deals were better in 2016. I got almost $16k off sticker for my 2016 LTZ. This time I was only able to get a little over $10k off my 2019 LTZ. No state sales tax where I live. There was no trade-in either time and both trucks were brand new with 12 miles on the odo for both of them. Hard to believe I'm getting a better price in Alaska, where there are far fewer dealers.
  24. I always keep my pistol on my person unless I have to go into a prohibited area. Then I lock it in a tethered lockbox under the rear seat. You are much more likely to need access to your pistol outside of your truck, such as when refueling. Better to always have it on you.
