Unfortunately you can't actually get to that menu if the truck isn't running on the new ones. I've done what the manual says and it won't work, so I'm assuming there is an issue. Looks like it'll be another trip back to the dealer.
I did that and also 5 seconds or longer and it beeps but nothing happens. When you press the wheel it switches over to the confirmation page that asks if you want to reset it, I select yes and it stays at 28%. When I hold the wheel down for any amount of time it beeps but doesn't switch to the other screen.
Irish80 replied to Lfod1836's topic in 6.6L Duramax Diesel & Allison Powertrain (L5P/MGM)I've got just shy of 14,000 miles on mine and I'd say about ¾ of that is towing a utility trailer with anywhere from empty(2860 lbs) up to 14k pretty often and I'm averaging 14.2 mpg overall. I don't have the large amount of wind resistance like the campers do though.

Totally agree with the use of biofuel, but a lot of the stations I fill up at don't have biofuel or at least they don't advertise it on their pumps. The hot shots secrets works out to about $2 a tank. It's not a huge amount of added cost and I don't know if it works, but I have to have this truck last me a lot of miles so it is piece of mind using it. I do seem to get a little better fuel mileage when using it, .5 to 1 mpg better but you know it's pretty hard to get a true number since there can be so many variables involved.
I've had 4 or 5 hard shifts when speeding back up after a construction zone or going up a hill. It's a little unsettling and I mentioned it to the dealership when I took it in for something else. They asked if there were any lights on, I told them no, and that's pretty much as far as that conversation went.
I'm now having this pop up when I start my truck. Has anyone else seen it? I washed my truck today thinking maybe a sensor was dirty but that didn't help. Last week when I was pulling my trailer the orange light on the right mirror came on like someone was passing me and just stayed on for several hours of driving. They updated the computer early last week so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it but it looks like I'll be headed back to the dealer.
Thank you for the replies guys and taking the time to check your camera. The picture on the display is pretty clear but you can definitely tell where that camera is on the 360° view. Not really blurry just look a little different.
The dealer told me the lense was supposed to be hazy and it wasn't condensation. They told me they went and looked at another truck and it was the same and it's designed like that. Any thoughts on this? Not sure if you can tell from this picture or not.
I've had my service steering column lock come on twice but barely long enough to read the message. I'm not sure what it means but I'm keeping an eye out for any issues with it. Haven't noticed any of the other issues you mentioned.
Check engine light came on yesterday at 6091 miles. Going to take it in tomorrow to see what the deal is. Was towing 200 miles from home so that was fun driving home hoping nothing major was wrong. Edit: OnStar was finally able to get the diagnostics to work and it's the P20ee code.
Is anyone else having an issue with condensation inside the camera on the tailgate? It's the one on the right that is the rounded fisheye. I'm going to take it in for warranty but wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem.
I bought it because I'll be putting on 60,000 miles a year and a good chunk of that will be towing. It won't take me near 10 years to make up that difference since I was only getting 7-8 mpg with my 6.0, maybe 9 on a good day. all those miles are for work not play so the more money I save at the pump the more that goes in my pocket. I'll save approximately $4000 a year at current fuel prices, after 2.5 years it's all profit.
Well I have just over 4000 miles on my 2020 3500 Duramax and I thought I would share my mpg for anyone interested. About half of those miles have been towing around 11,000 lbs or so. I'll put it in a list so it's a little easier to read. I'm using hot shot's secret edt so I'm not sure if that helps the numbers or not. What are you guys getting and what are your opinions on fuel additives? •Empty driving to and from work(9 miles) and some city driving is around 17.5 mpg. •highway empty is around 21 mpg(one 25 mile stretch according to the truck I got 25.1 mpg) •towing 2860 lb flatbed trailer empty is around 16 mpg and as good as 18 mpg. •loaded trailer on a lot of rolling hills is usually around 13 mpg.
Tried it today and it worked as described. Thanks for the help on such a simple thing. I guess I was a little too impatient and didn't hold it long enough and also I didn't know you had to hold it on the second click on the fob so that is good info. I'm assuming there is no way to open the tailgate if something malfunctions on the truck?
