  1. I put Bilstein 5100's on all for corner of my Tboss and my truck both drives considerably smoother with much less body movement and towing is much improved as well. Those Rancho's while I loved them for just daily driving seem to never settle down.
  2. I originally only did the rears and then took my TT on a short trip roughly 45 minutes away. After I got camp setup I opened my phone and ordered the fronts and had them installed the following Monday and for anyone towing I would recommend the exact same. I love the ranchos for regular driving as they are pillow soft. However they let the truck bounce too much. When I installed the Bilstein the rears my rear end was planted and felt great. My front then felt disconnected from the rear and I could watch my front sway. After I installed them in the front it now tows extremely stable and well. Highly recommended from personal experience to put them on all fours so that you aren't dampening differently at both ends.
  3. I have a 2020 Tboss that I tow a 34' TT with at about 8k. I have the equalizer as well. I squat 2 inches max which leads to believe that you have a much higher tongue weight than you think. Or you aren't distributing the weight properly. I also switched to Bilstein 5100's on all four corners which helped the stability while towing.
  4. I have to switch mine into "off-road" then shut off TC to get the truck to do any type of slide or spin without pulling my power. Off-Road with TC off seams to ease back but not turn off a lot of the nannies. I have a 2020 Tboss.
  5. This... You can sue their insurance company for the depreciation if they don't total. Then use that money when you trade in the truck to buy another new one
  6. I have a funny feeling that this may be a symptom of cylinder deactivation and the torque converter adjusting to it.
  7. My Trailboss LT with the center console, underseat, and in seat storage has more than enough storage for me and I came over from a Ram. I can fit my 2 year old in the center console if I need to.
  8. Hello all, I have a question for those of you that have already replaced your rear rancho's with the 5100's in your trailboss or AT4. I tow a pretty heavy travel trailer and I'm curious to hear how the bilstein's perform compared to stock? I don't think the ride of the Rancho's bother me as much as most however if I can spend $180 dollars on new shocks that improve both the ride and towing experience I'm probably in. Thanks in advance for your replies!
  9. Put on CK quarts 3.0 by myself and it's had great results so far... None of the ceramics last forever and I wouldn't expect more than 3 years with two coats of their reload product annually. For me $80 my own elbow grease every three years was well worth it. It does make your paint hydrophobic and there have been times it has rained and I've come out to almost zero rain spots on my paint.
  10. The dyno graph on the shorties shows exactly what they do... Take from the low end and move it to the high end. Know that if you put shorties in your truck you will likely lose some low end torque. Long Tubes have always been the kind of under the curve power with the most low end gains. You pay heavily for them though!
  11. I'm interested in this as well... I have a 2020 LT Tboss.
  12. I have done this and thank you for posting it on here. Not every TT or RV has tires rated for that speed!
  13. I will do that soon. I just haven't done it yet... I know I'm very close to the GVWR of the truck, however you'd never know.
  14. I have two 32lb Propane tanks and a battery on the tongue. I pack like you as well, no water when traveling just what I need to get there. Where I put the weight doesn't matter. It just tows it!
  15. Lower than yours... I don't have the exact numbers on Payload, tongue weight is 930. I think payload is right around 1,600. I ran the numbers once and I'm very close to the payload, tongue, and GVWR, however once you get a good WD hitch and set it up correctly you really can't tell. I usually drive one handed.
  16. I have a 2020 TBoss LT 6.2L 10speed. I tow a 34 foot travel trailer that is 7k dry and 8,800 GVWR. I usually tow it around 8-8200k loaded. My truck handles it very very well. You will need to buy the right hitch however and personally I've found the Equalizer E4 1K/10K combo to work very nicely. On windy days I can maintain 70-75 and on perfect days I can tow 80 MPH if I want or need to. Set up your WD right and these 1/2 tons will tow just fine!
  17. I'm not a crazy Amsoil fanboy and will not stand on soapbox like others about it. However the truck performs exactly as the dealer said so I can only relate this comment to pure ignorance and trolling.
  18. The first time I towed this trailer I got about 11.8. The last two times out there was some serious winds and I was getting around 9mpg. I tow between 70-75 MPH based on conditions. I also tow mostly on the interstate where it is mostly flat. I've had to hit a few grades in Northern Michigan here where it was going at a steep grade for a while like others have said, this is where the 6.2L shines for a gasser V8. I haven't been able to bog this motor down yet.
  19. I have a 34'ft travel trailer that I tow at about 8,000lbs. I use Tow/Haul mode most of the time. I put it in normal mode and found at that weight there wasn't much difference. In the Owner's manual it states to only use Tow/Haul when you are towing really heavy loads as you may not like the way the transmission handles a lighter load. At 8,000 or lbs towing tow/haul keeps my torque band perfect for the weight. I also have a 6.2/10speed non-towing package though.
  20. I have a 2020 Trailboss with the 6.2L. I've watched a few of these threads and finally decided to test my own vehicle. Upon startup when cold (outside temp was 68 degrees) that engine clanks and pings in a way that is scary sounding. For 3-5 minutes I actually thought for sure the motor would come apart when towing my trailer home and then suddenly it was gone. When we hit the road and I had to stop I let the motor idle for about 10 minutes while stopped and never heard it again. Very interesting, but certainly a scary noise to hear for a few moments!
  21. When I have the AC off I've had mine shut off for around 2 minutes. With the AC on it's certainly not as long, but we've also had a hot summer. As far as MPG's are concerned with your 6.2. Once my motor started to get around 5,000 on the odometer I noticed a very steep increase in the MPG's, and the engine is way more responsive. I know it isn't talked about much but I think the 6.2's need a few thousand miles to truly break in. Also I just towed a 7,000lb travel trailer and at 65MPH my truck was averaging between 10-12MPG on flat land in tow/haul mode for a reference. Your mileage should improve in time.
  22. I'd unhook the battery and put a trickle charger on it until it's fully charged. Hook the battery back up and see if the issue persists. When these batteries get low the trucks start doing funny things!
  23. I think the idle could use about a 50-75 RPM bump.
  24. I'm curious if this is related to a low battery situation. I have a 2020 6.2 Tboss and I ran the battery down to the battery saver warning. When I started the truck up and drove it next I had several diagnostic issues including service the airbags and a few other codes. I threw a battery tender on it and charged it back up over that night and every code went away. I understand you aren't having these issues but I wonder if a low battery starts making these trucks act funny. I know others have had issues with the battery and I believe a few were throwing codes as well. Regardless I hope you get it fixed soon, I was just adding this as food for thought.
