  1. I don't think many owners use it. I know I don't. Also, Consumer Reports is running a campaign to have automakers stop selling "black box" info and smart driver info to insurance companies.
  2. It use to be that GM customer service monitored this site. Evidently they don't anymore. I agree with 64BAwagon. Get customer service in the loop. As far as problems, I've had my 2023 SLT X31 diesel for just over 8 months and really haven't had any major problems. There is one that I can't figure out. I hear a noise that sounds like a small rock hitting the windshield or like a plastic water bottle popping. It's always on the passenger front door area. There are no indications of any road damage anywhere. It's not frequent enough to be annoying, but it's there. Other than that, I'm pleased with the truck. I have contact with the dealer for oil change. Once those freebies are used up. I'll use a local tire shop for service. Good luck.
  3. 2019s had a lot of problems with transmissions. Sounds like yours worked good up until it was railroaded. Sorry, I had to do it. If you have the manual shift feature, give it a try. See if it moves forward. I'm sure you already checked the fluid level. Keep us posted please.
  4. Look into the Sierra SLT. I have the 2023 Sierra 3.0 with Max Tow.
  5. Just out of curiosity, was there and contact damage on the side where the other driver may have hit you?
  6. I've seen that before. Windshields have a layer of plastic sandwiched in. Rock hits usually won't shatter. Side windows don't have that feature. Hit it in the right spot and they will shatter. Having said that, A lug nut hit the windshield of my work van. Took it out! Had to clean the brown stains from the seat. From the picture, it looks like a direct hit from something. There is a recall in the works for some trucks where side windows have shattered. From what I understand, it's mainly on the passenger side. Worth checking in to.
  7. paint code is GNO. Shows it for the 2024 Sierra. Does not show it for the Silverado.
  8. What type of pump are you using? I had two that were ok for awhile. Then went wonky. I now use a dedicated digital tire gage and I have a small compressor in my garage. I've noticed to that those TPMS sensors don't always register the pressure just after adding air.
  9. I have the BakFlip MX4 on my 2023 Sierra. I transferred it from my 2019 Sierra. No leaks other than at the tailgate. My truck sits under a carport when not in use. Haven't been in any hail storms. Some fade but a coat of good wax takes care of that,
  10. Sounds like the lighting control knob. Should have the off symbol, Auto, and manual.
  11. You may require and extra harness. When I converted my 17 over to tow mirrors, both sides required an added harness. However, the the turn signals never worked on the mirrors.
  12. Interesting. Friend of mine had a 2020 Sierra 1500 that would unlatch while driving. Dealer could never find anything. He got rid of it. Same cause maybe? I will keep an eye on my 23 Sierra 1500.
  13. My 2023 came with 3 years of paid up ONSTAR with the mobile hot spot.
  14. When I got my 2023 Sierra back in September, I got the extended warranty. It was through GM. The F and I rep should have offered it to you.
  15. It's always done it. Most times after running around town or say a 120 mile round trip. If I just start it and let it idle, shut it down, normally no noise. No codes. I'm thinking the GM tech is right. The DEF return pump.
  16. From under the rear?
  17. When I shut down my 2023 Sierra 3.0 diesel, there's a noise coming from under the truck. I know it's funny, but it sounds like a small frog croaking. The tech at the dealer said it's the DEF return pump.
  18. Capture nuts. Just about any auto parts store or fastener supply store.
  19. We used stop drill on aircraft too. As long as it wasn't a critical component.
  20. Just read where GM has put a stop sale on 2024 Sierras and Silverados. Problem with roof splitting on the passenger side. Can't see it because trim is in the way. Fix is stop drill, TIG weld coat the weld, repaint and recoat. Trucks on the road will be recalled.
  21. 5.3 gas and 8 speed.
  22. I'm retired USAF too. Twenty years. Originally from Maryland. Retired from Seymour Johnson June 1989.
  23. Tire tread design has a significant impact on fuel mileage. Especially AT tires. They have a higher rolling resistance.
  24. I haven't heard anyone else with the problem. I have the 2023 Sierra with the same engine. Close to 2,000 miles. No issues. You might consider contacting GM customer service and file a complaint. Send them the same photos along with the dealer name. Hold their feet to the fire.
  25. I've had my 2023 Sierra SLT since the end of September. So far, way better than the 2019 Sierra I had. I haven't done any long trips yet, but have one upcoming in December. I am impressed. The 3.0 Duramax is pretty darn nice. It's quiet, so far gets very good mileage and has the power I need. The 10 speed transmission shifts seamlessly. No harsh up/down shift. No slamming when coming to a stop. The ride is way better than the 2019. Even on our rough roads. The large infotainment screen is nice, though I'm still learning to navigate it. I also like the DIC. And the tailgate is easier to close. All in all, I'm very happy with it.
