I went with the 5.3L. When I got mine, gas was stupid expensive. In my area, premium is 70 cents higher than regular. Since I commute to work, I didn't want the added costs.

As soon as I get my waiver from the state, Im tinting the windows. The sun is killing my head. After that though, I guess wheels will probably be next on my list. I found a set that I think Id like on my truck. The link is below. I had thought I was going to replace the Rancho shocks/struts like I did with the Sierra but this set doesnt ride quite as bad. So with that in mind, I think Ill wait the year and a half til the warranty is up and see about a proper lift. Why pay for it twice lol. I had thought I was going to get the Pulsar LT for it but I borrowed my neighbors before I dropped $500 on it and my mileage took a dump. Lost about 3 down to 17. Just cant see that with my commute. I have still yet to figure out the difference between the LTD and the 21s. All the emblems on my truck are currently black, except the Z71. What do you guys think I should do with them? I am debating and cant make up my mind lol.

My Bose in the 2022 LTD sound good also. I keep my Highs and Lows at about 10 and mid at about 5.

Do they really update OTA though? The 21 Sierra I traded in had a 2020 version of the software installed on it. Anytime I told it to check for updates, it always said there wasnt any.

I definitely have a transmission oil cooler but it doesn't seem to change my temps. I don't think anything is going to keep them lower considering they have a thermostat that keeps them pretty warm. I could be wrong though lol.

Now isn't that a silly question. Of course I check my oil. In the decades of using Pennzoil exclusively, I have never had it "disappear" across the multitude of vehicles in my household. I find it also funny how I guess none of us "on the internet" appear to be real life people. I guess you also know and speak to more people face to face vs the multitudes in this or other forums. Most oils these days are good oils for what any of us are using them for. That is why these types of questions always end with the same answer of, pick one and just use it as long as its within the specs for your engine.

I have used Pennzoil for a long time myself and have never had any issues. I have actually never heard of anyone having issues with it either.

I just had installed the Borla S-type quad tip on my 5.3L I like the way it sounds and it doesnt sound like garbage when DFM kicks in. You can hear many clips on Borla's website or Youtube.

I personally have several kids and D.E. is definitely no longer taught in a lot of schools. I think they have a class of discussion on a bit of it but there is no hands on anymore unless you want to go somewhere and pay for it.

Added Borla S-type exhaust. Sounds pretty decent from what I could hear over the rain lol. Not as loud as I was really hoping though. Of course, after I got it home I had to go under and tighten everything up cause they apparently didnt do a good job. How far should the tips be sticking out from the bumper or should they be level. If they should be level, I guess Ill have to go loosen everything back up to see if I can get them to move.

So, if I went with the bags, I could intentionally carry another 1k lbs? I have thought about eventually leveling or slightly lifting the truck. If I do that I thought about bagging it to begin with just so when I carry a load it doesnt squat. I do appreciate all yalls advice. The load index on my tires is is 115 which looks to be 2679lbs. Not sure how you figure out how much you can put on them. Doesnt seem right to just add them together and subtract the weight of the truck since the truck's weight is not evenly distributed.

So if I decided to add a leaf, what type of increase would that net? Also, would bagging the rear have the same affect?

Is there a way to increase the payload on a 1500? My payload is only a bit over 1700lbs. Today my wife wanted a bunch of blocks to build a wall in front of the garden. I had to make two trips to Lowes to get them all as the combined weight was over 2100lbs. What can I do to increase that 1700 to something higher? I know it may not be all the time I need that high of a rating but would rather not make two trips when I do lol. Thanks.

EXACTLY! They dont care at all. Not to mention who knows what they really put in it lol. I got a few jugs when Pennzoil went on sale and used my daughter's Wal-Mart discount. In the end, was just under $20 per.

Just under $48 for 2 5QT jugs of Pennzoil Platinum and roughly $8 for a Wix filter and I do it myself.

Our local GMC dealer said that they will not get in any 2022's at all. He said GM was only sending out trucks that got reserved. Not sure how true that is mind you but just what the guy had said.

I pretty much use Exxon exclusively. Most places around me all have the same prices. Even Raceway is the same price as the Exxon. I miss the days when they would compete with one another lol.

Talked to service department today. Apparently 210-225 is normal for this truck. Apparently the fans do not even kick on til 225. Funnier though that it runs that hot running down the interstate but in town it sits just above 210. I did throw my handheld on it and it idles about 215.6. Sure does seem hot to me but I guess there isnt much I can do if they programed the fans to come on so late.

Installed some bullring tie down anchors. Nothing extravagant I know but every little bit makes it more mine lol.
