  1. Don't get me started on the continuing problems gm is having with their powertrains. Some will not have problems early in their lifespan and some will fail everytime you turn around. Good luck guys not getting a lemon.
  2. You guys aren't screaming at gm loud enough. GM knows they are having lifter problems and not just with the AFM lifter. They should give some assist on the repairs. They are still having lifter problems on the new trucks. They are doing away with AFM for 2022 motors. I won't be buying one. I'm leaning towards Dodge and may look at Ford too.
  3. They only replaced the left bank lifters since they found a bad lifter on #3. Fixed the problem for a little over 2K miles. Back in the shop and now they say #3 injector is bad. I'm not confident about this at all. No cost out of pocket for me yet. This is ridiculous for a truck with only 30K miles. Go look in the 2021 forums for these trucks. GM is still fighting these problems even on the new trucks.
  4. Kewl, Mines still in the shop. They replaced all the lifters now. Still don't know if it will fix it yet.
  5. Yep, actually I don't care at this point what they do to the truck. I paid for 5 injectors and GM ponyed up for what they said were 3 bad injectors. I will be filling a complaint with GM to get all my money back and file a complaint against the dealership thru the BBB. Then when I actually get the truck back it will be sold. Hopefully this will be the last thing I have to post on this site. Good riddens GM.
  6. Did you get it fixed?
  7. Could be lifters too.
  8. Hey I told you about the special bulletin. Did it fix your problem?
  9. Well my 2017 only had 28,500 miles and had all injectors replaced and didn't fix the problem. Was spitting out P0300 and P050D codes. Dealership just changed all the lifter. They are in test drive mode now. If this fixes the problem I'm selling the truck and getting a Ford. This is the right time to sell anyway. The dealership also told me they are still having lifter problems in 2020 trucks . Bye, Bye GM.
  10. The dealership replaced all the fuel injectors again. Did not fix the problem. They now have replaced all the lifters. They are now test driving the truck for a few days to see if this will fix the problem. I'm not confident that this is the fix. We shall see.
  11. Ok I found the right guys, talking about what is happening to my 2017 5.3l . 28568 miles and all injectors replaced. Embrassed to say how much I paid to have my P050D,P0300 codes from coming back. Truck is out of bumper to bumper of course. Yeah I gotta get tags for the thing so it's gotta pass emissions. These where hard codes and lite the CEL. But the weird thing that happened just before the check engine light came on was a hard downshift when slowing to a stop and at cruising speed the cruise control would not set. Well dealership called and said truck is ready to go. Drove it off with no problems. Parked it for 8 hours. Started it it up cold and same codes with CEL. Back to the dealership for 5 days. They say it's throwing codes all over the place. Had GM (supposedly) engineers involved to figure it out. Now they call me and say they put the truck back together and can't get it to throw any codes. I get the truck back on a Saturday and drive it around town putting miles on it so the emissions will completes so I can get the truck to pass emissions tests for state inspection. Mind you I stop and start the truck at least 10 times that day. No problems. No pending codes on my code reader. Start the truck cold on Sunday and get pending codes P0300, P050D on my code reader. No CEL, But the shift problem is back and cruise will not set. So I drive around a bit with this happening. Stop and restart the truck and it is fine. After a few starts the pending codes clear. What is going on here? Finally put enough miles on the truck. About 130 miles without the CEL coming back on. Yet all along the way I'm seeing these pending codes coming up on my code reader.Got it to pass emissions test. Still have the shift problem and no cruise until after the truck warms up and a restart. Should I have to live with this?
  12. No if you ****** loud enough GM will cover just the parts not the labor. I just went thru this 4 days ago with GM on my Texas truck.
  13. I guess he settled out of court and signed a NDA. LOL
  14. This fuel injector issue is ongoing to date.
  15. So what do you think after 5 years of owning the truck or did you sale it?
  16. So why do folks in California get free injector replacement for up to 150K or 10 years?
  17. Here is the service bulletin number. Google it. N182198000 -Special Coverage Engine Fuel Injector. Not right, not right at all. GM customers should be up in arms over this.
  18. After raising a big stink with GM they agreed to pay labor and I pay part. My out of pocket is $1600. Still not right and I will be taking legal action against GM. Other states get a free ride and I don't.
  19. GM is aware of this problem with failing injectors. GM will do an assist for labor only and you pay for GM dealerships overpriced parts.
  20. There is a special GM bulletin out there that states in certain states the fuel injectors are covered for 150K mile or 10 years. I have a 2017 with the 5.3 liter and have what the dealer says is 3 bad injectors. 28500 miles and out of the 3 year bumper to bumper and not covered in the great state of Texas, GMs biggest market. GM is aware of the problem , yet won't stand behind their product. Why are we as consumers taking this from GM? IT'S TIME TO RAISE HELL!!! Time to get a new non GM truck too.
  21. Go to Wally world and buy the techron fuel injector cleaner. With a full tank pour two bottles of the cleaner in the tank. Get the codes cleared after you run a tank of gas with the cleaner in it. If it's still throwing codes P0300 or P050D, then you have a bad injector or 2. I'm going thru the same thing on my 2017 right now. Dealership tells me 3 bad injectors and get ready to take it up the rear. At 28500 miles and out of the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. I live in Texas and other states are getting the injectors replaced on GM dime. How in the hell can that be fair? I'm beside myself at this point. Something is not right at GM. No more GM products for my family including my great grandchildren and beyond. Yes I have great grandchildren now.
  22. Hi guys, Had the same issue with an 2008 Silverado that I no longer own. Out of warranty by an oil change. Dealership wanted 4k to fix it. Put up a stink with GM and I had to pay 1.2k out of my pocket. I now have a 2017 Silverado 5.3 liter. Should have learned my lesson on the '08. This truck has 28500 miles on it and it is throwing misfire codes. Out of warranty mind you. Dealership says 3 bad fuel injectors and that will be 2K to replace just the 3 injectors and clean the other and the fuel system (throttle body). I would do the work myself but I'm in declining health and wouldn't be able to do the work. I have all the tools. I'm a son of a mechanic and I know how to turn a wrench, just wish I could. So once fixed, which truck should I be looking at to trade for? Oh I'm in Texas .The injectors are cover for 150K miles or 10 years in other states. There is a bulletin out there that states this. Not sure how to attach it here.
  23. Ok guys I have the same problem on my 2017 Silverado 5.3 litre. Throwing codes P0303,P0300,P050D. Dealership said 3 bad injectors. True??? Covered under warranty? My truck has 28500 miles and 4 years old. No extended warranty.
