  1. The main reason I am buying a GM truck is I didn't want my truck to ride like a FORD which it would with the snow plow suspension. I am using my truck to tow bumper pull trailers. No need for an extra stiff front suspension.
  2. Are both sets of brake pads on both sides of the vehicle having the same issue? In other words, they all have the same wear? I would likely do some stops and starts and use an IR heat gun and measure all brake dica and see if there is a noticeable temp difference. Fronts should be warmer than the rears. Do you use adaptive cruise control in traffic?
  3. If I bought a truck with the snow plow prep option, first thing I would do is change out the springs.
  4. That is correct. You need your VIN to order the correct mirror depending on cameras, blind spot detection...
  5. How often are you driving and what is the voltage at the end of an extended storage? This is a real issue with many cars/trucks.
  6. Do you happen to keep an extra key fob in the truck or nearby? If you do, that could be the issue. Make sure you keep all key fobs out of the truck. If they happen to be stored nearby, wrap them in foil as a test. It would be worthwhile measuring the standby current of your truck after it sits for a few hours to see what your standby current drain is.
  7. In the Fords, they close initially to allow the engine to warm up faster and then open up. Are they not doing the exact same ting?
  8. After 2 months, my order has finally been accepted by GMC.
  9. It's basically the equivalent of the FX4 on Fords. I would never order a truck with it.
  10. Another thing...have you replaced your brake shoes lately? If so, they need to be burnished for them to work properly.
  11. Pretty easy to check. Measure the voltage at the brake magnets with both your old truck and controller and the new truck. You can also put a clamp meter on the wire coming from the 7 pin and see ow much current is being sourced with both brake controllers.
  12. I use AdBlockPlus and I still see a couple ads on the side to the right but they are easily ignored.
  13. I have the Kingbolen K10 scanner. When my truck actually arrives, I may play with it.
  14. It's too bad GM doesn't have something like Ford's Forscan to change the limits. This would be an easy change with Forscan.
  15. Ahhh.....so you both ordered! If I didn't have to drive across the country, I would have done that...although, since I am retired, would be easy to do!
  16. I see you ordered yours. I did the same. Great that they gave you that deal even though you ordered it and not because they just had a lot of trucks in stock.
  17. That was a great price. Wish they had that around here. Hope you don't think I was calling you a liar.
  18. It was unfortunate that I didn't get my GM discount like I used to. They don't offer it to subsidiaries anymore. That would have been over 9%. I used to work for GM but when I left, I got my discount through my dad who retired. Since he also worked for a subsidiary, no discount anymore. Back in the day, I got around 18% discount. Used to buy a truck a year and sell it at the end of the year for more than I paid for it and I would order another one.
  19. At my dealer, they never had a markup on MSRP...not even during Covid. They still don't but they also don't offer any discount...yet! They are a very high volume dealer and they are still selling a lot of trucks! I was looking at two with a diesel, although I really wanted gas. They came in and got sold within days!
  20. That is actually amazing. Not like this in my area.
  21. As long as you are ordering the diesel engine. That option is not available with the gasoline engine.
  22. Yep...I always do spray liners, especially if it's offered as an option when you buy the truck...and never use a mat with it. I see no point in adding that at all.
  23. Looks like the Denali doesn't have that stupid sticker. First thing I did when I bought my F150 was to remove it.
  24. We call them Bayholes. We are in Tahoe Keys.
