  1. I used a multi-tool with a metal blade hard to use while using channel locks to hold it down on one side while I was cutting it with the tool on the other side ,not that easy lol ahh man wish I would’ve gone that route I had to hound and find mine Home Depot didn’t have the same bolt so I had to go to two other spots till I found it at ace hardware
  2. If it wasn’t for the video I watched on how to get it out then it definitely would’ve been a head scratcher moment but if you have the right tools it wasn’t hard to get out just more time consuming to get out then anything but definitely worth it
  3. Thanks man, Yeah you ain’t kidding
  4. Looks great man!!!!! I have a poster of Superman on my wall, I’m fixing to take it down and put a poster of you up there I’ve read the whole 7 pg thread on your transformation and you are a master of your trade. I see the hard work you put into your truck and the pride you have for it. Looks great
  5. Ahhhh ok sweet thank you so much, glad you told me there’s a local tune shop in my town I can go too but I appreciate it man !!!!!
  6. I painted my tow hooks red, for my 17’ all terrain. Three coats of the red and three coats of the clear. Not to shabby for learning how to take them out on YouTube
  7. Hey question, ima tell you what my buddy would tell me when he wanted me to explain to him how I install whatever it was I was building or what have you but speak to me like a I’m child lol I understand homes not trucks or engines , but my question is, tuning an engine I’ve read enough but still don’t understand I have the 8spd 5.3 and i still haven’t found something like HPTuners that can work with the 8spd. Is there something out there for the 8spd that I can use ? And what exactly would my mechanic do ,once I get said tuner ?
  8. I did the pill flip late last year towards the end of summer so I wasn’t able to get a good reading of the t-stat durning a hot normal day when the t-stat would read 170-190 w/o a trailer and 190-210 w/ trailer .But with it warming up, it was about a 65-70 degree day I was pulling a 10ft long by 4.ft wide flat bed tandem axel trailer that weighs up tow 3000lbs plus I also had about 2,200 plus lbs of cement bags on the trailer so about 5200lbs plus about 350lbs in cargo weight with tools in my bed and it was reading 170 while pulling, before when I would pull a trailer it would be at 190-210,This was durning summer days. Even on cold winter days where I live can get to 15 degrees and before the flip I’d be at 135-150 w/o pulling in a winter day and now with the flip this winter I was at 120-140 w/o pulling. I haven’t gotten a good reading durning the summer since we’re approaching it but I’m curious to see what readings I get with out pulling on normal conditions
  9. Is it beneficial for it to flow through the radiator like the 14-16’s. I have a 17 and I did the pill flip I used to be at 180-190 and now I’m at 160-170 is that still too hot? I believe my truck carry’s the aux cooler that’s in front of the radiator right ? Is that better then going to the radiator?
  10. Yes sir…I appreciate your feedback TY
  11. I have the 5.3 it’s been a good to me other then it being the 8 speed and the hard shifting from time to time. But I do like the new trail boss editions those are nice but thank you for the input I appreciate it
  12. Looking to get a used Sierra 19-21 I have a 17 and it’s turned out to be more of a lemon then a sure thing and I still have 4 more years with it and since I’ve had it for two years now it’s been more times in the shop for this and that . Doesn’t help that it’s my DD . So I’d really like some input on owners with these years. I’m looking at an AT4. Should I stay clear or get ?
  13. How does a tune work I build homes not trucks lol help me understand please
  14. Dude that’s smart, never would have thought of pigging back off the bed lights and your not having to install the switch cause it’s all ready there.
  15. Your grandfather invented that ,that’s awesome. Are those clamps any good for anytype of electrical wire
  16. Hey guys merry Christmas hope you guys had a great holiday. But quick question I have a 17’ sierra and wanting to upgrade to a 19-24 model I’d like the know the ins and outs of and what to look for and stay away from. From biggest problem to things like that . Looking from insight from 19-24 owners please and thank you
  17. How is the ground wire, supposed to help the shifting
  18. I didn’t know they put a 6.2 on an all terrain I have an all terrain too but I have the 5.3

  20. Well good to know, I’ve been putting it on M5 this whole time putting it on M5 won’t mess up anything will it ? I don’t know much about engines I’m a novice, I can build you a house just not an engine lol
  21. I had purchased my truck about almost two years ago and before I went to go look at my 2017 sierra with the 8 speed it was at the transmission shop getting a rebuilt transmission. So being me I was excited cause I thought I was going to get a truck and never have to worry about the transmission going out or experiencing the hard shifts these trucks are known for. Knock on wood my transmission hasn’t gone out yet Thank God but I do have hard shifts going into 1-2 gear and once in a blue moon when it shift down but very rare on down shifts but I noticed and this is just me and My Opinion on the matter but I feel like if I baby the gas pedal and slowly work my way to a start instead of putting the lead on it and taking off abruptly I feel like it helps avoid the hard shifts. I can go days without the hard shift if I baby that pedal but I’m taking my truck in tomorrow to change out the transmission oil and filter and also have them flip the pill on the TBV so I’m hoping that helps me out a lot.. but Im pretty sure when they had this truck at the transmission shop they used the OEM Torque converter and never even touched the TBV.
  22. Thank you. How come it’s not the same as the 6 speed where you put it on L5? ? Would it be cause of the gear difference?
  23. 8 speed here as well but since I have the 8 speed do I have to set it at m7 or m5 ?
  24. Hahaha your reply had me rolling lol
  25. That’s what I was fixing to say too we checked to see if my uncles sierra 2500 hundred filter was dirty and sure enough it was packed to the brim once we changed it and put a new one on the air was blowing so much faster then before
