  1. No resistors. I showed in the pics where I tapped into the harness under the frame on drivers side (purple wire with grey). I also added in one behind the new lower grill I installed when I switched out the main grill.
  2. Not sure if it is still true but older models, the E85 has hardened valve seats and I think some other internals. More educated people than myself on this topic can verify if this is accurate.
  3. Love the truck. Wish it had bird’s eye view, HUD, and active cruise (which next gen has but I rather the current look and material so plan on keeping the truck for a long time).
  4. I do like that one and may add some subtle under truck white led lighting to.
  5. I cleaned up the splice area before finishing.
  6. Since I wanted to keep the factory running boards (I like AMP but the OEM ones look nice to me on the HD and hide the DEF tank) I noticed they would fit a regular DOT 1/2” round side marker perfectly and the ones I used match the OEM smoke lens and amber led. I looked on the net but could not find anyone with out trucks that has done this so I did. Found the wire needed (purple with gray stripe that is connected to the rear 194 tail light bulb) then solder the connections, 2 costs of liquid tape, then 3M electrical tape and all wire ran inside vacuume line and hidden as best as I can inside truck body supports. Cost under $50. Let me know what you think. I will post pics on next post so the replies won’t keep posting the pics. I tied into the wire harness under the driverside cab but you can run wire all the way back to the tail light if you want. Running the wire under the cab to the other side was the hardest part but it is in the support over the trans and had to unbolt (but not remove) the exhaust heat shield. Even though the holes for the led lights are 1/2”, the grommets are 9/16”. And the Diramax running board supports (the 2 next to the DEF tank) are differint and full metal back as the others are plastic areas. Just take off one support/brace at a time, drill the hole and replace. Future replacement should be pretty easy by just pushing the light out the grommet and adding a waterproof quick connect.
  7. agree.......maybe that is why the new ones take so much dang oil....to leave room for it disappearing...... May get a little better fuel mileage but uses more oil....kinda like robbing Peter to pay Paul.......
  8. It is a oil/gas/water mix. Colder temps results in more water. I keep forgetting to send off a sample for alalysis....been dumping it on ants....
  9. Will be easy to sell the chrome ones, if you choose to do so.
  10. Passenger side on top of horizontal fin on front of chunk.
  11. So it is stamped on both.
  12. that makes me want to trade mine in for a Blue one.... that looks nice.
  13. it has a gasoline smell to it (may be just in my head)..... it's additives/detergents or it's inherent chemical properties may break down your oil if introduced?? Just thinking? I would love for analytical test to be ran so we can see what is actually in it....
  14. I have the putco LEDs for fogs and other than not snapping in all the way...no issues. I know other brand trucks that inform driver when a light is out (or almost out) an led will create issues due to resistance.
  15. Are those grill inserts? Looks good.
  16. No. Look at the 2nd page and what I caught in about the same time (with media). 1st page shows without media and is alot less. With media it is similar to Rx cans.I have a repeating reminder on my phone to check it on Saturdays but once a month is a good frequency for my wife's driving time/amount.
  17. Yea..that is still too high for me.
  18. I know those summers in Red Stick are HOT..... I lived in Denham (Central actually) for awhile while working in BRPO until I went to LaPlace, but grew up near Hammond so I know. Crawfish season is back so it is time to make a trip back home, and in-laws have a camp in Manchac so do a little fishin to. I do miss living down there (always something fun to do) and was actually considering moving back.
