    Tick at idle? Are you hearing the injectors as they do such on a DI engine.

    Yep, my tire shop guy was truing a new set one day and told me one was out of spec on lateral issue, thread not running true. Told me to get it replaced. Discount agreed and replaced the tire.

    On replacing the oem wheels, did you locate to the same stud and wheel stud hole as when you removed. If not, you may have accidently help balance the rotors/wheels/tires etc.. with the new wheel position on the rotor.??? My wheels/tires are high speed balanced on the truck with a strobe. I know when I remove my wheels I have to mark the one stud to one wheel stud hole so to return the wheel on the proper stud location. If not the truck is way out on tire balance. So you may have just hit a sweet spot when replacing the wheels???

    ^ Driving in Manual keeps it out of AFM. I did such for a long time to keep the trans from jerking on decal and for all around better driving. Finally just tuned the damn thing.

    Road force alone may not cure tire bounce and resulting vibration. If the tire is not round RF will not be able to remove the vibration. That is why one needs to find a shop that can properly true a tire and if possible one that will high speed balance on the trk using a strobe. Even my RF trk Michelins can ride like crap till trued and balanced on the truck. I note that my Michelin sports on my cars are easier to balance and sometimes RF is enough for them. But not the bigger trk tires. Note to all, even with perfectly trued and on trk high speed balance you will see some vibration in the passenger seat. It will be slight but there. That is the trk going over the road and resulting flex and harmonics...If the steering wheel is shaking or seat moving like heck, find a good shop for truing and balance.

    guess the mag ride will cost 4 grand or more. Just put 5100 Bilsteins on and your ride will more controlled and less harsh. And you can raise the front too with them.

    Until you have the tires trued and balance while on the truck you cannot say they are balance to the best possible. I had some Michelins that were road forced when installed. Would shake at higher speeds. Trued and high speed balance on the truck took care of this. Note, my Michelins are trued and balanced on the truck. Riding glass smooth. BUT you do get some vibration to the passenger seat etc. Very slight but it is there. You cannot get rid of all such minor vibs as this is just the fact of a car or truck going down the road. You will know when it is excessive.

    Looks good. Are those lids insolated or just a liner? I went with the undercover unpainted so not to worry about more paint to care for. But it is not insulated and the sun down here really heats it up in the trk bed.

    Couple of threads on this around here. bottom line: too expensive. even after market. I tried this on a 900 that I wanted to buy but needed the window for me to buy. Got a lot of unanswered questions and an out of sight cost.

    That is why truing a tire prior to balance is critical to well balanced no hop tire. Hard to find someone to do it properly but worth the look. Then strobe balance on the truck if possible. This is better than road force as it helps balance the tire, rotor etc...

    Thanks, are the low beams better? The 14 loaner GMC was down right dangerous on low beam on unlighted rural roads.

    So did you trade or buy back? Headlights any better than the '14s? Seats?

    Bowflygsp: did the dealer ever apologize for trying to run you off and then oh we fixed it bs they pulled.

    Are the HC shocks yellow or silver? Bilstein name on them? IF not, Doubt they are Bilsteins or GM would have the name all over them. On the Z-71 years ago they put the yellow bils on, I think. Not now. If you want good shocks buy the Bilstein 5100s.

    I have been trying to stay up with this tread. But here is my question: Are the 6.2 1500s having the same Vib and noise issue. And Good luck to all with the issue.

    I agree on the alignment. I always take my new rides to my front end and tire shop friend for alignment check by some one I have faith in. On the rotate tires yes and no. My friends shop trues and balances my tires on the truck. So if a wheel is removed it must be replaced on the same spot and same studs. When I first started this years ago, my friend said do not worry about rotating the tires. With the truing and spot on wheel/tire on truck balance you will get the full mileage out of the tires. On my first set of LT LTX m/s on my 90 sub, I got over 100,000 miles. My current LTXs are Ps and do not wear as well as the first LTXs or LTs That said, I am at about 58,000 now and look like they will go 70,000 with no problem. No rotation since first truing and balance when installed. Wear is even as back tires wear with traction and front with the steering. If they were not trued and balanced on the truck, I would rotate. Also the truing and on truck balance prevents the uneven wear, cupping and noise you get on aggressive tires.

    Have U asked dealer for a buy back or going lemon? Do not think class action will work. Vibration is a I feel it thing and each truck would have to be tested etc. and proven vibration to what level. All cars/trucks have vibrations and wheel hop etc...

    Now that is a help. the 7-13 full liners covered more frame too. I have them on my 09 and really like how they clean up. You can even detail them if one is into such. This is the solution for anyone not liking the limited cover and carpet like material of the 14s.

    This! I have the Bilstein 5100s all around on my 09 SLT 4x4. Put them on the first month of new truck. Great control and not harsh. You can get the fronts that can raise the front if you wish. 4 wheel drive has them on sale form time to time. Rear : F4-BE5-E377-HO Front : E376-HO

    Agree, I think the DRLs and back up should be at driver demand. I recently drove a loaner '14 and found the back up camera to be of little use and some what disorientating. I would only use it to hook up a trailer or check on load/hitch while under way. With the '14s using the leds for DRLs, it is not so bad on bulb life.

    Agree. sort of. Along with new tires and shocks on a new truck, I take it to a good independent front end shop and have the alignment checked. Was off some on my 09 SLT. You can use the dealer if it has a good service alignment set up. Blessed with a good shop here in San Antonio. I would try to find the old school that just checks the front end. Note that when I did this on my 90 GMC sub they found body to frame bolts/nuts loose.
