  1. I think you are correct. GM will only sell about 6-700,000 of them a year.
  2. One cannot really see it unless you bend down and look for it. The tundra's have it much higher on the door and you can barely notice it. My 09 has many chips all the way up to the lower door trim. Have tried 3m and it will discolor, show dirt around the edges and guess what it to will chip/tear/gouge when hit with the rocks thrown by tires. I wish the no-chip was all the way up to the trim and behind the rear tires.
  3. If you run much on non-paved roads it is great. The no chip paint is barely visible while standing (two or so inches high in area) and looks a hell of a lot better than the rocker paint on my 09. That would be the look of a shot gun blast to the rockers. Paint chips by the hundreds. I would prefer the toya application of up to the belt line. I do agree that there are things that I do not like about the over all truck but the little bit of no chip rocker finish is not one.
  4. Same here. Just finished looking at the GMC and Chevys (dealer side by side and closed so I got to really look). I just do not like the lines of the crew cab cabin. The door sizes and shapes look distorted to me like the tundras. I think the double cab will be the better looking truck. The front end is massive from head on. And I really do not like the hot to touch, dull looking bed rail covers. And you cannot remove as they have many thru the rail clamp holes. The carpet liners will be hard to keep looking sharp if you are into clean rides. Under the hood is not very impressive unless you like yards of plastic covers. The oil dip stick is now at the back left of the engine and a very hard reach for me at 6' 4". Some folks will need a step to reach or maybe a long left hand reach while dripping oil. The inside was ok. Very industrial looking center stack and plug outlets. 900s SLT/LTZ dash is much better. Moving the B-pillar forward 2 inches allows you to get your foot in easier in the rear door. But the b-pillar is now in play for longer legged front seat folks. I guess I will go to Justin at Blackbear for my 09 as all I seem to like about the new ones is more T/Q and H/P. Edit: And yes these trucks are way more expensive than the 900s. Something close to my 09 CC slt 4w dr z-71 will be about $2-3,000 more. But they do have more tricks on them. A non-nav fully loaded 900 slt 4wdr z-71 at say $46,000 will not happen in this new truck.
  5. If you just want to level the truck, no high lift, like I did, the Bilstein 5100s are the way to go. You retain complete shock and suspension travel as compared to other methods. Plus the great Bilstein ride. See the pdf from the bilstein site for a load of info on the other methods and their short comings. No damage to your suspension. Just saying... http://www.bilsteinus.com/fileadmin/user_upload/user_upload_us/pdfs/Bil_LevShks_WebArticle.pdf http://www.bilsteinus.com/products/truck-off-road/5100-series-ride-height-adjustable/ The first day on my 09 I put the Michelins on and then true and high speed balance on the truck. Them I added the Bilstein 5100s around which leveled the truck. Really made the ride and everyone that rides in my 09, CC, 4wdr z71 says the ride is the best they have seen in a truck (and they drive ford, GM and toy trks). With the stiffer frame and heavier anti roll bars the new trks should really take to the setup.
  6. My only complaint on the new liners is that the rears do not drop far enough down to cover the frame like the ones on the 900s do. So I guess after market will hit on this.
