  1. Thanks! I was looking for something to supplement the weak high beams but sounds like the rough country won’t do that. For how infrequently I use the highs I think I’ll just leave it alone, would be awesome to be able to mount up another set of the ss3 with the driving or spot lenses to work on high but I’m very satisfied with the lows!
  2. I got the GM hardcover one, was an accessory on the truck when I bought it, have always been a soft rollup user. I like that: I can put stuff on it because it's hard The front 1/3 lifts up and has a lock Doesn't sag It's more secure than a soft rollup (never had issues in the past but this is a plus) I don't like: not water tight, hard rain or car wash gets water in on the rear corners I can't fold it up against the rear window so when I need the whole bed above the cover I need to remove it, probably weighs 40lbs? If I still had my ATV I'd have never installed this just because of how often I'd have to load up the bed over the rails but with my current use case I'm going to keep running it, I only have to pull it a half dozen times a year, I can cram everything else under it or pop the front or back 1/3.
  3. You can have my start stop chip for the park assist. I don't think I'd miss the cylinder deactivation chip so that one can be donated to some heated seats, way more useful than the fancy engine stuff.
  4. Inspired by the gray one Here is a pic I put up in another thread. In a few days I'll have had her for a year and a little over 18k miles. 21 RST, 6.2, GM Performance Intake/Exhaust, powdercoated exhaust tips black, debadged truck, Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs, TRex grill insert and the steps, hardcover, & wheels I bought it with.
  5. Thanks. I added a pic of the whole truck from work this AM and a pic of the lights when I took off a little while ago.
  6. Got some Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fogs on Black Friday and a TRex polished grill from the Mrs for Christmas. Got around to installing them. For the fogs, super easy, attach to mounting brackets, remove 3 factory fog bolts, mount SS3 fogs, plug in adapter, then plug in factory harness. Align (mine are pointed down as low as they go) Holy hell, these things put out a lot of light! They fill in the foreground, light up the right and left sides of the road and can see in the ditches now, and fill in a little of the low beams as well. The color is slightly warmer than the factory headlights. From the outside it looks the same, driving I hardly notice because it blends and I also like the warmer color better. One thing, I had to add those ferrite magnets to each one of the fog light harnesses. I picked up static on my radio with them on, the magnets fixed it. The TRex billet grill took all of an hour to install taking my time as it was the first time I removed my grill. After that it was installing the pieces in the order the instructions have. It was just aligning them left to right, installing a funny washer and a nut 3 times for each bar. The middle of the grill doesn't quite sit flush but you gotta move in for a close inspection to see it. No cutting or anything, completely removable to return to stock. Contemplating the Rough Country lights for the grill, but not sure if they will work with the look. Mine is a debadged RST. It is a 4x4 but I'm not doing any lifting or leveling, so much easier to use the truck and get stuff in and out of the bed. Just not going for that lifted look with the A/T tires this time. Attached a few pics of the before, during, and after. Happy with how it turned out, the fogs are amazing. Edit: also added the Oxilam 7440 LED Turns on the front with the resistors, haven't had an issue, but I'm in WI so it's not exactly warm out this time of year. They look way better than stock, $22.50 on Amazon. Updated 1/10 with a pic of the truck and some sweet lens flare pics of the lights at night.
  7. I'm on my 3rd 6.2 since 08, this one is the smoothest (21 6.2) with foot on brake, but still has a little shake from time to time. When I was getting the 08 tuned Justin mentioned to me that the truck is idling at some stupid low RPM and like lpg mentioned adding a little RPM will smooth it right out. He added a little to show me and then went super smooth, but then set back to stock range. If you leave the stupid stop/start on less shake time haha.
  8. Works as good as the stock one for me. Holds up in car washes.
  9. I’m in WI and I got a letter in the mail the other day saying it needed to be updated.
  10. Man I run up and down 41 from Milwaukee to Green Bay, cruise set at 78 and the best I can get is 18. That’s a stock 21 RST 6.2 10 speed with the car tires on it. Got 3600 miles, maybe needs to break in more.
  11. That looks awesome time to add it to the list! I put these led in the reverse of my 21 Silverado, no camera washout and brighter. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0728DYR9H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_dlT1_VT6MVXZ768S2P3DKFSQD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Did these on the plates, 2+ years on my 16 and no issues. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NQK5VGH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JTMC6PSH3ZAF68XHFJMZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  12. I removed the Silverado from everywhere on the truck along with the 6.2 hood. Heat gun, fishing line, goo gone. Gonna get a black RST when it warms up for the tailgate.
  13. Here we all like pics. just broke 1k miles and got my new tips welded on today?. Excuse the dirty truck it’s been like 1° all week and it started snowing again. here are the duals pic is too big to upload here. https://imgur.com/gallery/nk585Nb
  14. I didn’t pay that for it but that is what the sticker was, it was just under $54 OTD. 6.2, $3k wheels, “performance package,” hard cover, side steps, convenience(Bose with sub)/safety package, bed liner, leather... that all adds up fast to $16k in options. I don’t feel like I overpaid a dime, it’s all the stuff I wanted with one exception, memory seats. Yeah, some of the new options are cool, but I got real with myself and what I liked and wanted, last truck was SLT and came from 2 fully loaded Denalis before that. They had a pretty loaded up 6.2 LTZ that was within $800 of the sticker price of mine. I didn’t want chrome. $60k sounds about where you could get a 6.2 high country around Milwaukee/Chicago in January when I was looking saw a couple 5.3 and duramax in the $54 range Those are cool looking trucks, especially the cherry red tintcoat. Looked at a 6.2 TB that color?
  15. Looks nice! Those old tips are a pain in the ass to get off, I don't know how people do it without taking the steps out. I just did that tonight, dropped it off at the shop to get the quad tips welded on tomorrow. Mine are just stainless ebay specials and round with the slant cut.
  16. Get your hands on that Borla muffler if its in your budget, my truck already had the "performance package" installed when I bought it. There is NO drone and no flappers. The flowmaster in my last truck had drone, it was also louder with a glorified glass pack going straight through a "muffler"
  17. $55k for a 20 6.2 RST doesn't seem ridiculous depending on how it's optioned up. My 21 6.2 RST stickered for $63....and I love it compared to my 16 All Terrain, even with less options! I bought mine last month from the Boucher auto group in the Milwaukee, WI area and they had like $3500 dealer cash on all of the 21's and they day I bought mine they pulled that dealer cash from all of their 6.2's.
  18. Haha my last 3 were GMC and I think the GMC is the pig this time so bought a Chevy. If you just bought a vehicle on online reviews we would all drive rams because their interior is so cool and they have a locker button. I actually quite like the buttons and not having to drill through menus...but to each their own I had 2 buddies go ram 1500 in the last 4 months, nice trucks, just not for me this time around! Lots of killer rigs on here keep the pics coming so I can find new ways to spend money on my new truck! Cheers!
  19. After having a couple previous Denalis with the 6.2 and then a 16 AT with the 5.3, all of them tuned, 6.2s were blackbear and the 5.3 was Lew, I missed the effortless power of the 6.2 most noticeably on the interstate. Just not at the point in my life for a 3rd vehicle in the house, my wife has a 550i which is that 4 second car you reference I can drive to scratch the itch (it’s great my wife likes nice cars!), and I’m getting older with bad knees and hate getting in and out of that thing. Sport mode is awesome, to have it when you want, and the 10 speed is unbelievably better all around than that clunk box 8 speed. Great to hear the 5.3s improved a lot, didn’t drive a new one with it, I had 6.2 fever! The new 6.2 I have now would annihilate the 16 as soon as it got traction. My manhood has been compensated!? Some are 5.3 people and some are 6.2 people, glad we have 2 solid choices! The duramax’s will wipe the floor with us when they start tuning those haha
  20. Case closed, finally stumbled on a nerf bar thread...they were the first ones in it. https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm-step-pkg-asst-install-0-40-84538235.html updated part number https://www.cheapestgmparts.com/oem-parts/gm-assist-steps-sport-84742421?c=az0xJnE9ODQ1MzgyMzU%3D
  21. I drove a 2021 LT Trail Boss at night and I could not believe how crappy the led lights were, felt like 2 flashlights, and crappy 20 year old ones that got an LED upgrade and a bad one. Could a $62k truck really have lights this pathetic? So I drive an RST the next night with LED and I was surprised how much better the same lights were, they are pretty nice! Surely has to be adjustment with yours, I think they light up the road pretty decent, the fogs help a lot with the foreground where the LED in this truck are weak. My expectation was low coming from the HID in my 2016 I modified with new projectors, ballasts, and night breaker bulbs.
  22. I got a pic attached and after a few nights on the google machine can anyone tell me what these steps are so I can buy them? Can’t figure it out. Red truck is a better pic and my RST looks just like the one pictured minus the steps! Much appreciated!
  23. Just picked up this past Friday, gonna tint, debadge, and get quad tips out the back instead of those square boys. Got the GM hard tonneau installed already, dealer option but wasn’t on it when I picked up. Gonna find some smaller steps too. She’s a 6.2 with the performance package.
  24. My 21 makes a slight tick, so did the 5.3 on the 16 I had. I thought I had read it was something to do with the high pressure fuel system with the DI.
