I was just going to ask that question. Are the new truck 2.7, 5.3 and 6.2 still having lifter failure issues. I guess the answer is YES!

I would let dealer fix it and then trade it off!

So far all I see is that GM is good at making tv advertisements. Wasn't it 3 super bowls back that we saw the Hummer EV, have to seen any on the lot in Canada? We have been watching Silverado EV commercials for years, Any on the lot, not that I have seen or heard about. But I can go to my closest big city and find Ford Lightnings, and just about every other make of electric cars. Really makes you wonder what the hell GM Management is doing. Mary needs to do some explaining!

Only one way to be a RV puller and that is diesel! But then I am old school from back when they built real trucks!

I get better than that with my 2017 6.2. Really makes you feel good about the over the top price of these new trucks.

What really is pissing me off these days is General Motors. You can't go by anything they say anymore. Timelines are so screwed up it is pathetic. And they say that they have introduced something and you never see it happen. Like rcsb trucks reintroduced to North America. Technically yes Mexico is part of North America, but what about Canada and the US. I have never actually seen one in person. And for Canada, I have only actually found two on the internet for sale in Canada. And the prices of trucks in general is a complete rip off. There is no way in hell a pick-up truck is worth what they are. More that most Cadillac's and Lincolns', just under what a Corvette is worth. Total BS.

This was driving me crazy until I saw that guys are putting extra rubber between the rear leaf's. So I made a set of my own. They are working perfectly.

All I can say is that if you are going to a dealer of any make these days you better take a tube of K Y with you!

I am very frustrated with GM. Being a good Canadian right now watching NHL playoffs, I see lots of Chevy and GMC truck commercials. But when you go to a dealer lot there is not a hell of a lot to look at. And the prices are nuts.

Thanks Bear! I had a 2017 Tahoe to with a 5.3 with afm. It worked awesome and gave me the best gas milage of any vehical I ever drove back and forth to Mesa with, including 3.7 Colorado's and 3.8 Buick's. Sometimes these things are just internet hype too, and with the number of Camaro's, Corvettes, Cadillac V, GMC and Chevy trucks on the road (millions) with 5.3s and 6.2s you have to really wonder. Some guys would screw up the Lords Prayer too if they knew it!

So how many of you have had a afm lifter failure? How many of you are using an afm disable program? I guess I must have been not paying attention. But between the Transmission and now this lifter failure afm issue it sounds like I am sitting on a ticking time bomb with my 2017 6.2 High Country. I don't really want to get rid of this truck since the new ones are so damned expensive.

Opinions please. My 2017 Silverado High Country only has 24000 KM (15000) miles. I have never had any issues with the Transmission problem that 8 speeds tend to have. Since this truck would still have the factory trans fluid in it should I be getting a flush done to ensure that I have the correct Mobile one fluid in it.

If you are in the Northern Plains States you may as well disable it. They could not find me in Montana!

It is like just about everything associated with GM. They have moved on with a new generation of high tech money spenders in hock up to their azzes, and they don't give crap about past customers or in the case of this website past contributors. I am at a point in my life were I can not see spending $90 thousand on a gas truck, let alone a $100 thousand plus on a electric one. I have had new or relatively new Chevy trucks since I was 18 years old. (probably close to 20 of them) I guess time has passed me by.

Just having Paintless repair done. Removal of literally hundreds of hail dents on hood, roof, and passenger side. They have the truck for a week. $500 deductible is what I have to pay! If any of you recall the 2014 rcsb GMC I had hailed in 2014 damage was $12000 on it. That did include some body work on that one though.

Does anyone know if the EV Silverado is built with composite body parts. Had a Hail event with my High Country on Thursday and I am sick of Campbell Soup can bodies on new cars and trucks.

Dealers are pretty cocky right now! Ripping people off big time on Used cars and trucks! I for one will remember and am going to change dealers on my next new truck purchase! I have never been loyal to just one dealer or salesman. I buy from whoever has the truck I want. Screw the salesman!
