  1. Cute pic but lose that air dam!
  2. One of my friends was there today, he has a dark blue ZR2 Sonoma with silver-ish stripes. Not sure who went with him. I took the class to get my carry permit today. Going back tomorrow to hopefully do the shooting qualification. They make it much harder out here. In NH it was just $10 and off I went after the background check.
  3. Kiss my ass, you live there and I did that within 30 minutes of my first ever time driving on the sand. But good luck with that. My buddy/savior in his big SFA ZR2 won't be there to drag my sorry ass out. I never should have posted that damn photo.
  4. I was hoping to go out, some friends are but with my work schedule I'd have to go there and back all on a Saturday and that just isn't worth it. Too much damn driving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well straight pipes sound like ass unless it's a built motor and the majority of the trash that guts the cats and runs without mufflers aren't running a built motor, it's some worn out thing. And I really can't see something 3' from the road having any business being on the road anyhow. I understand why they're strict around the dunes because if they weren't than all the hacked POSs would be out on the streets screwing off. And with all the tourist/kid stuff in the center of town where that absurd roundabout is having some hillbilly buit truck running around is just asking for a disaster. There's already enough people that hate off roaders so I see it as a responsibility to make sure I'm reasonable and don't add to that. People who oppose ORV parks aren't rational enough to realize that without the dunes that town wouldn't even exist.
  6. Really depends on who you run into. Though I don't think you won't have issues in Detroit, no one is there to complain. My truck has the dB/Corsa exhaust so at steady speed it's fairly mild. I drive too much to put up with an obnoxiously loud truck. And by loud I mean stuff like glass packs or straight pipes, even then as long an you're not romping on it you'll probably be fine. Exhaust noise is one of those things that is always vague in terms of enforcement.
  7. I don't know that I've seen a farm plate in MI yet. But I see plenty of lifted trucks with standard tags anyhow. It really probably depends- if you're in a rural area I've been told you can usually get away with a tall/loud truck but if you head into the city you might get hassled.
  8. In NH it's done along with registration. You don't do it, you don't get the inspection sticker. Then you get pulled over, ticketed and potentially have the car towed.
  9. It will vary some state to state but you go to a shop, be it a dealer or anything else. Emissions in NH was just an OBDII scan for codes and readiness monitors. Safety inspection goes over just about everything from suspension to lights and tires, etc. Some states still do a real emissions test with a probe in the exhaust. It's a complicated system, the guideline book is big. I don't miss having the truck inspected nor do I miss working in the dealership and fixing other people's junk either.
  10. your lucky.. but i also kind of like inspection because it really is unsafe to not have your vehicle inspected. emissions is a pain in the ass though Inspections are pointless, I saw plenty of non roadworthy cars in NH even with their inspection. Never mind that any competent shop inspects any car that comes in, both for safety and to try and upsell work.
  11. Came today and threw it on during lunch. I like it! should be much easier to use if I ever get a scope.
  12. The rules just make no sense- No bayonet lug. Yeah, because of all those brutal bayonet attacks we have. No adjustable stock because having the gun fit the person shooting it better and improving safety is a horrible idea. No flash hider because the stupid liberals misunderstand what it does.
  13. Sharp looking! Bummer you live in Connecticut with all those stupid rules.
  14. Yeah PMags are all I have (10 already, 5 more coming with these bits). Oh, and I also have a Magpul iPhone case. I'm fairly happy with the rest of the rifle as it sits. Wouldn't mind a stock with some sort of rubber on the backside of it, my current one has a checkered pattern that feels just a bit abrasive just wearing a T-shirt. We'll see.
  15. Ended up ordering the Magpul MOE handguard. Hopefully it is better insulated than the standard type. Regardless, it has a shroud to cover the gas block/front sight post which is good as I was somehow dumb enough to touch that yesterday. I also ordered the vertical grip add-on in case it still gets hot. Oh and more PMags. So this is my first rifle- I cleaned it and my pistols earlier but I don't want to overlook anything on it. I of course cleaned the barrel, removed the BCG and cleaned up that and left everything with a light coat of oil. Does anything else need to be done? I've heard of other rifles needing the gas tube cleaned, is that a concern with this?
  16. Shot mine for the first time today. Why did I wait so long to buy one?!?! Sooooo awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. We have a little event in town here this week, NHRA Nationals Bruno from trucks on speed tv drives a cobalt (autogeek sponsored) Yeah this wasn't a race car, just a regular old Cobalt someone drove to the track to screw around I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Not much with the truck but still a fun night. Drove up to the Lansing area to meet a friend, hauled his 69 Chevelle to Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton. He's been having fueling issues but still ran 12.7-.8. Couple methanol burning dragsters and lots of cool old iron. Also saw a Cobalt do a 22 second pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ordered a BCM Gunfighter charging handle. I haven't even shot mine yet and didn't like how weak the stock one feels.
  20. Not quite. No clutch or any fancy stuff, it just backs off the output. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Normal operation. Read your manual, it's supposedly more efficient this way.
  22. You been to the dunes recently? I just read that some sort of plane/glider crashed on test hill yesterday.
  23. Nothings about California politics will ever surprise me. We're talking about the same idiots who actually considered banning dark colored cars because they use more energy to cool down. Pretty state but I'd never, ever want to live there no matter how much money I was offered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. No room for the car seat in the cab? Nope, next best thing. I give him a bungee cord to hold onto Ryan You joke but some people do that stuff- I passed an older Caravan coming back from IL today that was hopelessly overloaded and through the tinted glass I could see what had to have been a child hopping around in the back amongst all the crap in the van.
  25. No room for the car seat in the cab?
