Which Lift Kit Pushes The Wheel Base Out The Most?

Just was thinking, I'm going for a "stocky" look when I lift my truck. I was just wondering what lift will push my wheel base out the furthest. I've seen some that only do it to the front, but I'm wanting both front and back. Is there such a thing? I've seen a lot of Pro Comp lifts and they almost make the truck look funny becuase it keeps the stock wheel base, espicially on Fords I haven't seen to many Fabtech's from a straight on view, but the look good. So does the BDS. You guys know way more then I can ever learn so that's why I'm asking. If you have any pictures that would be great too. Thanks a lot...

Oh, and are there other factors that contribute like a negative offset in your wheel? Thanks again...

Fabtech only pushes the front out....

negative offset will definatlely help you with your stocky look.. they are harder on bearings tho..

If you want the wheels to stick out like crazy, just get a set of wide wheels with a large negative offset. There's no safe way to make the rear stick out more other than wheels (wheel spacers are not safe).

you could get + offset wheels in the front and - offset wheels in the back??

although you couldn't rotate the tires very well you could only switch them back and forth...

Or get a lift that doesn't push the front wheels out very far, and run the same wheels all around...

Agreed. Different offsets would also look AWFUL.

from what I've read , CST with the 4" lift doesnt push the front out farther than the rear ,, stock width remains

From what I've seen, fabtech and BDS are the worse on the Previous gen trucks.

If ur worried about the back matching the front then just get 1 1/4" spacers for the rear.. slap em on, and say eff the haters.

The spacers are fine.. I have them on all four corners of my truck and they are fine. They literaly cause the same amount of wear on a truck as a negative offset wheel.. Its harder on the bearings..

Think about all those widebody drift cars that run a super huge negative offset wheel and a 2" wheel spacer and they send those cars into controlled high speed drifts...

The only thing dangerous about a wheelspacer is if you over torque the things and pull the studs out, but guess what, you can do it with your hub too.. People just get paranoid, overtorque them, moreso than they would a wheel onto the hub, and then they eff things up..

these are opinions and im sure people will disagree.. but i have no problems with the spacers as of yet, but I will post about them if I ever do thats for sure. I have seen plenty of cars (my fathers included) that the studs have pulled out of the hub, and the vehicle is sitting on the side of the road on its rotor missing a wheel. I just seen a bone stock dodge ram like that last week on the side of the road...

Just wondering, how long have you had the spacers for that you can say for sure that they're safe?

And wouldn't it just be easier to buy a lift that doesn't widen the front track width much, and wheels with the correct offset?

Because it's a loose piece of metal between the wheel and the mounting surface. Either there is less available thread on the studs, or you have to run longer studs (which are more prone to breaking for the obvious reason: leverage).

Wheel adapters are MUCH safer, but personally I still don't like the idea of doubling the amount of lugs you have to worry about, and an extra piece of metal between the wheel and the hub.

If you have the option to just run a set of wheels with the correct offset, why take any chances? The more complicated something is, the more likely it is to fail. A lift that pushes the front track width out, and wheel spacers/adapters on the rear is the complicated way. A lift that doesn't change the front track width much, and a set of wheels with negative offset is much simpler, probably cheaper, and there's less to go wrong with it.

see, that is why i enjoy logging into this site everyday. all the knowledge that gets told from every angle is amazing! that is why i ask you guys and not the people selling the stuff, becuase all the want is the sale, that's it. business is business, to them anyway, who cares about the person driving off with the goods you know? but all very helpful and good info to know on my side, so thanks. i think the idea brought up by DV2000NJ is one i'm going to go off of...thanks again everybody! hey, what happened to AllBlkdOut07 lift? i thought he was throwing that on a while back?
