Instructions Ffor Intermediate Shaft Grease Kit

I have the clunk/rattle in my intermediate shaft. I tried the muffler clamp thing under the dash and it is still there. I think I am going to purchase the grease kit from GM and install it. Is there any step by step instructions for this process? All i can find is the istructions and diagrams for replacing the shaft and installing the muffler clamp but not for the greas kit.

If you can still get the kit, the TSB comes in the bag. If you are having problems I'd just put the NEW shaft in.

O'ya if you decide to do the job of greasing or replacing the shaft you better make danm sure you immobilize your steering wheel or you will completely fudge your clock spring.

My Local GM Dealer still stocks the kit so as long as the instructions come with it I should be OK. If anyone has the instructions could they please copy and post them so i can view them ahead of time, or just explain what is involved step by step.

Just buy the kit. Everything you need is in there.

If your dealer still has some in stock (Surprising since they've been discontinued for awhile) give that a try and see how long it lasts.

I bought the grease kit for $25.00 and installed it in less than 20 mins. I'll have to see how long it lasts now. It is hard to believe that the little amount of grease you put in does anything but it is clunk free now. Is that a special grease that is in there, it looks like a white lithium grease that GM has in a large tube they sell.
