  2. ..if only you had posted before I bought my 2014 All Star. 1. Paint- Great shine and almost perfect. A beautiful deep red color that really catches your eye. 2. Recalls- One minor recall...a programming issue. I never noticed it. The dealer told me about the recall and did the update for me. 3. Vibrations- So far the only vibrations I've noticed have been road related, or the bass is up to high on my stereo, causing the rear view mirror to shake with every THUMP! of the excellent entertainment system. 4. Interior- nice to look at and touch, quality is a solid AAA. Quiet, classy, and comfortable. 5. Electrical- Nothing at all. 6. Powertrain- I USE my truck. I've pulled out bushes with it, loaded it to the top, ran it like I stole it, even laid long patches of rubber with traction control off just to see if I could do it. I'd say it's pretty damned solid. Yeah, I'm real sorry I wasted my hard-earned money (even with a $10K discount from MSRP) on an absolutely STUNNING truck. In fact, I dislike my truck so much that when it's finally time to get rid of it, in say ten or twenty years, I'll probably make the same mistake again and buy a GM truck.

  5. Not recently but added the cop push bar, was a little skeptical if it was going to block my grill lights but it doesn't so im very happy. I was also happy that I can still keep my recovery hooks with it, the brackets attach to the bolts of the hooks. This thing is a solid built. 2014 Silverado 2WT CC Summit White 4.3L V6 DROPKICK Edition IG: jorge_dropkick_rangel

  9. He's perfectly healthy all tests say he's fine so we have him on medication to prevent any further issues and so far since his last seizure at the vet we haven't had any issues. Gotta take him back for blood work the 15th to see how the medication is taking to his body but he's been his crazy self so it's so far so good. On another good note I ordered 35/12.5/17 goodyear fierce attitude mt through discount tire heard alot of good things and they're cheaper than the tires I was going to get. But I need to replace all my damn inner tie rods again... Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

  12. I just installed a set of N-Fab cab length on my 2015 Silverado, pretty simple install, was able to install alone, with help from my little 6yr daughter handing me the bolts and washers. Came out nice and she loves them now that she can get into and out of the truck without help.

  13. As far as connecting wires for console light and switch, I read on a post that someone connected (spliced) the wires to the cigarette lighter in the front of the console. I would need to run wire to the front so obviously i would need to get donor wire from the console harness, but does it matter what size wire. Should it be the same size or would it need a thicker size wire (gauge wise). I should have left the white/black wire intact as it would have reached the front and the black one was spliced into 2 other wires with a larger one going to the front. Thanks

  18. i can't seem to get my front USB connections working. Ive ran power to them at pin #4 and #6 but tapping into the wiring for the cig lighter up front and i ran a USB from it to the GREEN open slot on the HMI module? I plug something into it and get nothing. If i test power i have good power so thats not my issue; I'm assuming my problem lies somewhere in the USB connection or possibly am i plugging it into the wrong spot on the HMI module? (as far as i remember that is the only open slot on my HMI…)

  21. I'm saying two things... 1) There are all kinds of independent studies (JD Powers, Consumer Reports, etc.) that show that cars/trucks are more reliable and have higher quality than cars of the past - even with the complex electronics. Cars last longer, drive better, are more capable, are more efficient, and pollute less - so there are improvements across the board. 2) Your sample of ONE SINGLE TRUCK is not representative of ALL of the trucks. Yes, I have had some minor issues with my previous truck. None with my current truck. But I'm no fanboy - I just like calling people out when they make stupid and/or false claims like you are. Nobody is disagreeing that some trucks have problems.

  22. No car or manufacture is immune from recalls. It can strike anything no matter how much of a premium you pay. qwqIt's often times a supplier mistake that, from the outward appearance, looks compliant to QC standards. Case in point, currently the 16 Traverse, Enclave and Acadia are facing a stop sale due to a bad batch of window motors that GM received from a supplier, they checked out on the QC checks but it wasn't until continuous use, such as driving in a rain storm for 30+ minutes, that the over heating issue was found. But with your thinking, I guess they could just charge a premium and run every single wiper motor on a 24hr test....

  23. The problem is that statistics don't back up you claims. A) it's normal for the first year or two of a new vehicle to have more problems than later years. Your 2012 was the 6th year for those truck. B) statically all OEMs improve quality and reliability year over year. Sure, there will be some anomalies, but the trend is steadily upward. Integrating large amounts of electronics has been the biggest problem with newer vehicles. So it sucks that you particular truck wasn't perfect, but one bad Apple doesn't mean that there's a systemic problem with them all.

  24. I bought my '14 Silverado in November of '13, It's a dreaded early build, August of '13. So far the truck with all the associated LTZ options, has been flawless. My next door neighbor bought a new '13 F 150 with the "acclaimed" Eco Boost. His motor blew and his struck is at a dealer 80 miles away from here. It's been over 3 weeks and though under warranty he's driving a little white loaner car. This is my fourth new Chevy truck, and they have all been great vehicles. No vehicle is going to 100% perfect, they are designed by, and to a degree built by humans. I still think GM manufactures the best quality American vehicles and I won't buy foreign. If it isn't a Chevy get a GMC.

  25. Give my 2014 built in Mexico 5.3 CC Silverado an A+! not only by far the best truck I have ever owned (have had 6 all brands except Toyota) also the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have never been so satisfied and pleased as I am with this truck. Purchased new just turned 32,000 miles.

  27. That is one of the sizes I am strongly considering in Toyo AT II's. In the leveling kit thread, http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153363-2014-leveling-kits/page-39, those that have 275/70/18's with a 2.5" level, said there is a lot more room for a wider tire. I am also planning a 1.5" body lift as well when the time comes. But it sounds like it would work. Also, I am planning on running the stock Z71 wheels. The offset will be they key factor.
