So, my alpine unit doesn't use the factory usb ports, and I am not happy with the half amp output they have. So I've upgraded the ports to 2 2.4amp ports and a quickcharge 3.0 port. Now I can charge from these usb ports like they were actually meant to be used. They are not functional as data ports. Only charge ports. Also I know, its really dusty.1 point

No more of a sin than to put Chinese communist wheels on an American truck assembled in the USA.1 point

Thank you pgamboa......I will update the thread on how this works out. When I bought this truck, the dealer told me it was one of the first 2015,s for the new model year and apparently, they did some changes later in the year. Once I get the mirrors on this truck figured out, I have a 2017 GMC 1500 that I may put towing mirrors on and hopefully, it won't be as difficult.1 point

I put a Zone 6.5 on my 2014 sierra in August. No joke, within the first mile driving with the lift on the motor blew. Took it to the dealer and they said the lift would have no effect and it was just a coincidence. They covered the engine replacement completely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Wow Volk Racing! You may be the first person I've seen with a set on a Silverado. I've been looking at the Matte Green ones for quite some time now. BEAUTIFUL!1 point

I paid $356 with tax. I probably could have found a better price if i asked around more. Alignment part of it was 75 i think.1 point

Finally got my RC 2" level installed. I have a 2015 regular cab with 17 wheels and 265/70/17 tires. Looks great. I took it to a reputable shop in my area. They quoted me $85-95 to install and $65 for alignment plus $5.00 to adjust headlights. Ended up costing me $75 for install and $58 for alignment. Came to $157 total. They even drove me home and picked me up. Best service I've ever had from a shop. I'll post picrures later!1 point

I just got my 5100s installed yesterday and 4 wheel alignment. My toe was -1.00 degree so it really needed it. I also recently got new AT tires, the truck rides so much better now. Bumps are firm but not harsh like before. The back end doesnt bounce around anymore and taking corners are amazing.1 point

Wanted to post about another successful tow mirror upgrade with pgamboas harnesses and mods to the 1AAuto tow mirrors. I know this thread is full of success stories, but I need to point out how much pgamboa went above and beyond for my install. Issues with the mirrors, that had nothing to do with his mods or my install, but he took it upon himself to get them all resolved. It took three sets, but eventually everything was taken care of and I have the mirrors and functions I wanted. I would have quit and gone a different route much sooner than pgmboa. He really stuck with it and got me all fixed up. Kudos and thanks.1 point

You need to cut the insulation mat in that photo. Cut out a "strip" where it is under the cable lug end and ground stud so that when you draw the nut down you don't have insulation between the dash and the cable. That's the issue that prompted the original TSB.1 point

I have come up with a cheat to add in dash sat nav to my 17 LT that did not come with it. Well kind of. I am going to be upgrading my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) this month. I am going to leave this old phone in the truck hooked to the USB port all the time. It will connect to the trucks wifi hotspot every time the vehicle is started. So all I need to do is touch the Android Auto icon and I have my sat nav. This way my new phone is hooked to the truck with bluetooth for calls, text and music without having to be hooked to a cable and having Android Auto hijack my phone so it can't do anything else. That is the plan anyway. Can't see why it wont work.1 point
