  1. Its hard to conceive that they would not offer the LT Trailboss with the 6.2l and a 3.42 rear diff
  2. I've recently done the 93 Diablo tune on my 14 Sierra with AFM off, speed limiter off, firm shift. Haven't messed with the throttle values. I also could not update the unit on my Macbook, had to use a windows computer at work. Agree that the tune really livens up the truck significantly
  3. I recently had my truck in for service to do small 4-5 recall items. Not sure if the BCM flash was done. The new lights are strong enough that I don't notice my ProBox/Rigid fogs adding as much to the throw as before
  4. after a weekend of usage, its clear to me that the Denali LED lights are far superior to the stock 14 lights, brighter than the LED bulbs I bought, and brighter than the 35w DDM HID kit I started with. Very pleased with them
  5. I had Katzkins installed by the dealer upon deliver in 2014. No issues with loose fit. Love them
  6. $2300 thru dealership, but insurance is covering it
  7. great explanation thanks
  8. installed mine yesterday. Current instructions from Gen5DIY state to plug the extra fuse into empty slot 26, but there are not any female prongs to receive the fuse plug in my 14 SLE. I went ahead and double plugged into slot #50 as per their old instructions and everything works. The DRL "C" does not turn off with the turn signal, but then again I never understood why you would want it to
  9. current instructions state to plug into #26 location which has no fuse in it
  10. I've been running a tank of E85 once every 5 fillups or so to try to dissolve any deposits. Has anyone who has used E85 often had an issue with these deposits?
  11. Going to do this mod on my 14 SLE. Front of truck was damaged in an accident and headlights have to be replaced anyway. Ordered the Gen5DIY harness bc zmnypit only has SLT to SLT harnesses for now.
  12. I'm pretty happy with my Flowmaster system there is no V4 drone with the series 50 muffler
  13. pretty crummy pic, but they look exactly like the fronts
  14. I am interested in a DIY plastidip on my window trim. Does anyone know how to R&R the trim?
  15. Well disregard the previous post - as is the radar detector will not work in the daytime lol! It only works when the nighttime ambient light is triggered. Back to the drawing board. I removed the old setup and this time removed the entire overhead console - not just the panel. There are two T10 screws to remove: Then there are two friction fit tabs up front that just pull straight down. There is a main wiring harness to the overhead console on the left side that you can disconnect. Testing all the wiring shows that the black wire is a good ground, and the leftmost purple wire with white stripe is a good 12v positve that directly is triggered by the ignition. Engine on, power on; engine off, power off. Just an extra step but now all seems to work properly. I think the purple wire with white stripe is the power lead to the passenger airbag light on the overhead console.
  16. This is for the 2014 Sierra/Silverado 1500 Ok I decided to hardwire my Valentine 1. The install should work for any detector. Others have noted that they could not find a 12v lead off the rear view mirror, so I tried the overhead console. The console (I have Homelink) pops off very easily. You open the sunglass compartment halfway and you can pry open the edge of the console with just your fingers. You should now see this: There are three connectors to the console panel: 1 at the front (small black) is for the Homelink buttons, the middle connector (black) is for the LED ambient light, the rear one (brown) is for the interior light switch for the doors. I tested all three connectors and could only find a good 12v + and - at the rear connector for the interior light switch. The left most yellow wire is 12v + and the right most black is - . The yellow wire is triggered with door opening and stays on until all accessory power shuts off. When you lock the car it shuts quickly, otherwise is remains on for maybe 20 sec I used vampire taps and wired in the Valentine harness. The cord to the detector easily wedges thru the front of the console out to the area around the rear view mirror. There is also tons of room to stow away any wiring up there. All tapped in and powered right up: For tools, the connectors need a small screwdriver to release the clips, and otherwise the only other thing required is taps and a voltmeter. Takes 30 min max
  17. Picked up mine today after waiting 2 days for the dealer to tint the windows, spray in a bedliner, clear bra the front end, and install the Katzkin leather seats. I'm pretty impressed with how quiet this truck is - similar to my wife's BMW 7 series. Visibility is pretty good, switchgear is pretty ergonomic, and the steering feels tight without any wandering or poor on-center feel. Did find 2 flaws - a rusted trim fastener, and pitting of the chrome on the edge of the front bumper Pros- nice ride, quiet, good steering, impressive interior, voice control works well, fuel economy is way better than my 01 6.0 without much trade-off of power, 6 speaker non-Bose is actually decent in sound quality (helps that the interior has little background noise), rear corner steps and hand holds work very well, love having a overhead grab handle on the driver's side Cons- key fobs feel like Cracker Jack toys (SLE) - the SLT key fobs feel more substantial, hard to reach seat controls due to limited space pics: fresh wash and nano wax Katzkin leather seats corroded fastener vs good fastener pitting in the chrome front bumper
