  1. Nobody new that when this thread started in 2021 (and was most active thru '21, '22 and '23) We now now that the transmission valve was likely the cause for everyone that reported brake issues.
  2. If you add truck info to your avatar and/or signature it won't be necessary to add every time you post. I have profiles setup for 4 different trailers. I don't recall ever seeing the light/heavy trailer type thing -- but maybe I've missed it or forgotten. Anyway, why can't you just adjust the gain to suit the trailer used with that profile. Trailering app should save the last gain used for the profile. Should be checking/verifying the brake gain setting each trip anyway -- to be sure brakes are connected and working, that the gain is correct for the load on the trailer for current trip. Interesting thing I found when changing from the a '21 truck to a '23 -- the profiles from the old truck showed up on the new truck. I assume this way done by the GM phone app and onstar. Two of my trailers use electric brakes and two do not. Trailering app does keep track of the number of miles each trailer has been pulled (or the number of miles the profile has been used, since operator must select the profile to be used) -- useful for trailer maintenance timing It also tracks the mpg for each one.
  3. GM 2500/3500 brakes had significant size increase starting in the 2011 model year.
  4. A couple dual tank info articles -- Rear Fuel Tank and Fuel Transfer Conditions – TechLink Rear Fuel Tank and Fuel Transfer Conditions January 16, 2020 Some 2015-2018 Silverado and Sierra models and 2019 Silverado 2500/3500 and Sierra 2500/3500 models equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine (RPOs LML, L5P) and dual fuel tanks (23.5 gallon/89 liter front tank and 40 gallon/151 liter rear tank) (RPO N2N) may have poor fuel transfer or the rear fuel tank may have collapsed. (Fig. 13) Fig. 13 These conditions may be caused by dirt and debris collecting on the top of the rear tank and plugging the vent (Fig. 14, #1), resulting in the fuel tank being pulled into a vacuum and bending the fuel tank fuel pump module. (Fig. 14, #2) Fig. 14 If these conditions are found, replace the fuel tank and fuel pump module. Refer to Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Replacement in the appropriate Service Information. In addition, to help prevent the vent from becoming plugged again, install a piece of fuel hose to the vent (Fig. 15, #1) and route it down the fuel feed line. (Fig. 15, #3) Secure the hose with zip ties. (Fig. 15, #2) Fig. 15 Refer to Bulletin #19-NA-277 for additional information and part numbers. Insufficient Dual Tank Fuel Transfer – TechLink Insufficient Dual Tank Fuel Transfer June 26, 2024 Some 2024 Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD models equipped with the 6.6L Duramax Diesel engine (RPO L5P) may have a fuel gauge that drops to empty and an inoperative fuel transfer pump. During diagnosis, the Engine Control Module (ECM) may show a fuel level percentage higher than empty. For example, it may show a 72.2% fuel level with 45.5 gallons remaining, but the IPC data may show a considerably lower number, such as 9%. The fuel level condition may be caused by insufficient fuel transfer with the dual fuel tank transfer system not transferring fuel properly from the rear tank to the front tank. Fuel Transfer Inlet Port The poor fuel transfer from the rear tank to the front tank may be due to a blockage in the fuel transfer inlet port at the A7 Front Fuel Tank Sender Assembly inside the fuel tank. (Fig. 8, #15) The assembly may have an internal check valve within the inlet port blocking the fuel from entering the front tank. If it is found that the A7 Front Fuel Tank Sender Assembly fuel transfer inlet port is blocked, it should be replaced. Fig. 8 Before installing the new A7 Front Fuel Tank Sender Assembly, inspect it to make sure there isn’t any blockage. Use very low air pressure (below 5 PSI) to determine if the fuel inlet port is blocked or flowing freely. Fuel Transfer System Diagnosis When performing basic testing of the fuel transfer system: Verify that the fuel transfer pump (Fig. 9) will run electrically by using the scan tool to command the pump on. This test does not confirm that the transfer pump is pumping fuel. Use the scan tool to monitor the front tank and rear tank fuel level voltages. Proper fuel level sensor voltages for either tank level sensor are 0.7 volts = full tank and 2.5 volts = empty. To determine if fuel is being transferred from the rear tank to the front tank, monitor the fuel level sensor voltages while commanding on, or jumper power and ground to the fuel transfer pump. The fuel level should decrease (voltage increases) in the rear tank and the fuel level should increase (voltage decreases) in the front tank. Fig. 9 For more details on fuel transfer pump diagnosis, refer to #PIT6159.
  5. Do you have the full manual? The gassers come with an 'essentials' manual, and the full manual is only by download. Not sure if it's the same way with the EV
  6. What year and trim level is the 'burb?
  7. Is the receptacle on the truck moulded onto the cord from it to the heater? If so, is it the truck side cord assy that is required? Not sure it this is can or us pricing... gmpartsdirectcom (no doubt there are others that would show this item)
  8. Your 2023 is over 100,000 miles already?
  9. What fuel mileage is the truck giving?
  10. Def usage should be about 2% of fuel usage. Did you track your fuel consumption during that period? If so, what avg mileage is it getting? And are you running a 6.6 or a 3.0 (or even a 2.8)? (it would be good to add truck info to avatar and/or signature...)
  11. Clogged def injector is probably crystalized def. If so, not can easily be corrected by soaking/washing the injecter with water.
  12. I expect at least seven years from an OEM installed battery.
  13. No need to try another trailer. This is a know fault with the Hydrastar system. Hydrastar knows they are not compatible with the 2024 and 2025 GM system. Hydrastar sells a solution. It installs on the trailer so it does not affect only other trailers the truck might be used for. This issue has been in several truck forums over the last couple years, so I'm surprised the RV community hasn't picked up on it. I'm also surprised Hydrastar doesn't make sure its customers know about it. Hydrastar says it can result in disabled trailer braking! Get it fixed before taking that trailer anywhere! Anyway, from Hydrastars website https://hydrastarusa.com/products/2024-2025-gm-controller-adapter-module-381-7074-381-7075?srsltid=AfmBOoonl_bGY9XFjDEZTTKZtm8rP9Bd9edM7FOBgizYFwmpnsyI4FAO
  14. Thanks. So if they were installing S rated tires on (at least some) 2020's the original limiter was likely lower/
  15. Was it the TCM update that is supposed to add (more) diagnostics for the valve in the transmission?
  16. I'm curious what the tire loading label on the doorpost lists as the speed rating?
  17. 18. Driveshaft seems to get a lot of the press, but tire speed rating should be looked at too. (yes, I realize that exceeding speed rating isn't likely to cause immediate failure...) Do they know about tire speed ratings? Speed (and load) rating will also be on the tire. Factory tires on my '21 were speed rating S. S An S speed rating indicates the tire has been approved for speeds up to 112 mph (180 km/h) under optimal conditions. Everyday passenger vehicle tires can be S speed rated, but S tires often prioritize specific performance or function. Many all-terrain LT tires are becoming available in an S rating as that’s the OE spec for many of these vehicles like the Ford Raptor. This is was on a set of Duratracs I used to have. Load load rating 109, speed rating S Current '23 has 275/60R20 115S So again, speed rating S My current winter tires are speed rating R. Speed rating R allows for speeds up to 106 mph (170 km/h) under optimal conditions. Like Q, R tires generally prioritize a particular function or unique performance over maximum speed capability. R speed tires are rare but can be found on some heavy-duty light truck (LT) tires, as well as studdable and studless winter tires.

  21. If it looks like this, you'll be happy when you try to plug in your remote cameras. In the mean time you'll an adapter from the 7 round to whatever your trailer has. will be required. This one is a Curt. https://www.curtmfg.com/part/57005

  23. Yes, if it was originally sold in the US. I reads like if you have a truck originally sold in Canada, you need to see the dealer...
