  1. Thanks @newdude Didn't know they changed it to a predictive system. Sucks in my opinion. Predictive doesn't know if the vehicle is frequently running in dusty environments or is 'never' win dusty environments. Did they do that with fuel filters too -- on 3.0 or 6.6 Duramax? I (think I ) understand using predictive for oil life but not for air and diesel fuel filters
  2. I think it detects the vacuum between the filter and intake or pressure drop across filter. Either way, the higher the blockage, the higher the vacuum or larger the pressure drop. At 14,000 miles since change it would seem likely that there is at least a little extra restriction. I'd be checking for any leaks around or after the filter. (Old school filter minders just measured the vacuum on engine side of the filter)
  3. For 2025 1500 Pro, - keyless entry and start is not available to order. - remote start is an available option. Any chance the person at the dealer is confusing the two? Adding the full keyless system would be a huge task - buttons on door, button on dash, all the necessary wiring and modules, all the necessary programming, etc. Since 'remote keyless entry' is standard, it wouldn't seem to be much of a stretch to retro-add the remote start portion (especially as it is an available factory option)
  4. What dashboard light are we asking about?
  5. If these are short dropouts I don't think they are unique to the satellite system. Running FM, I usually get a couple of (about) one second dropouts soon after it has been started. I've always assumed it is the many computers getting their startup housekeeping done. Rarely have any dropouts later during the trip.
  6. You assumption is not quite right. If ignored, it will eventually get to the 5mph limit. It gives miles to empty warnings. sort of in line with the def display. These are an estimate -- like remaining fuel range is an estimate -- and can be messed up by changes in vehicle usage changing fuel usage and def usage (since def is used whenever it is running and at arate of about 2% of fuel used.) Once it gets to empty it starts aa 500 mile 'countdown to 65 mph speed limit'. Once the 65 mph speed limit is in place there is another shorter countdown to 55 mph speed limit. Once the 55 mph speed limit is in place there is another shorter countdown to 5 mph. These countdown timers are actual miles -- not range estimates like the miles to empty warnings. The counters take over the screen and cannot be cleared until def is added. Since the countdown to 65 is 500 miles, it is likely the truck will need to get fuel anyway. DEF is available where diesel is sold -- and at almost any automotive supply place. Best practice is to let the def level get to less than 1/3 remaining before adding. Topping it up ever time it's down a few notches on the gauge seems to lead to errors where it's saying it's empty but isn't. Knowing that if it gets to empty there is still 500 miles should reduce worry since a fuel station visit is required anyway. If the warnings are for emission system service rather than def level, the countdown system shorter
  7. Did you use 'tire calculator' or similar to compare the revs per mile for the 20's vs what's on it? You didn't indicate what tires it came with. Assuming the standard tire for 2025 reg cab wt the standard tire -- QBN Tires, 255/70R17 all-season, blackwall and compared to 275/60R20 (there are 4 others shown as available in the order guide) 'Tire calculator' shows only 1 mph difference at 70 mph Bigger diameter rim, but shorter sidewall ratio resulting in similar overall diameter. With deflected sidewalls give revs per mile 599 changed to 607 or 1.3% (607-599) / 599 x100% = 1.3% I'm thinking there is no need to be concerned about the small difference(s) between the two tires
  8. I wonder if the self-powered horn from the 'advanced security package' on the SUV's can be installed in a pickup?
  9. Success or not making TTPMS work when it wasn't factory installed possibly depends on if the trim level had it as an available option. Even in 2025 model year TTPMS is not available on all trims.
  10. Some supplier makes the 'factory' one too. Probably the same supplier... OTOH, getting them the way I want is also why I've taken to (almost always) ordering when I'm after a new vehicle. Yes, I agree that in some situations that isn't always an option.
  11. GM has brake controllers available, at their accessories site, for the 2025 1500 Custom TB. Just not the factory one.
  12. If you're like me, you like to keep them for a long time. That means the manual gate will piss you/her off for a long time. I'd be talking to the sales person and finding what it would take to move up one trim level. For 2025 model, LS is the only trim without power lift.
  13. I don't think I've ever heard of a car/pickup/suv that is anything other than 1 quart at the add mark. Curiosity got the best of me so I download the 2000 Suburban Owners Manual and found this: I believe 'at' the ADD makl' is one quart and 'below' the mark indicates it might need more than one quart. Adding one quart when below might get far enough into the range that I wouldn't hold another full quart without being over. Over full is worse than a little under.

There can also be significant differences in the option packages -- no matter what trim levels are being looked at. If I need to get a different truck this week, it will be another (sierra) LZO. How is the truck used / what was the 2014 used for?
  15. Yes, Comment was to possibly explain why the '19 mentioned had a different fluid installed.
  16. 8 speed had a change in recommended fluid a few years ago. Each of 6, 8 and 10 speed currently have different recommended fluids
  17. 2023 46,000km (about 28,500mi) 90% front 92% rear
  18. As well as only available on WT and LT, PTO is also only available on duramax, and only with 4wd. No available with adaptive cruise
  19. I meant the Alaskan package is only available on WT and LT. Alaskan package (ANQ) is available on the US and CAN 2025 3500 order guides. There is also another snowplow package. Easier to read?
  20. 2025 3500 battery/alternator ordering possibilities Notes 1 and 2 on Alaskan Snowplow edition refer to WT (1) and LT (2). Ut's not available on LTZ and HC Others are all trims, but have engine choice requirements
  21. I have my phone bluetooth connected to truck, but don't activate AA - because I don't like the AA interface. Some have reported restarting phone successfully cleaning up issues.
  22. Maybe those that have had the fobs 'quit' have accidentally disabled them.
  23. 2026 order guide for 1500/2500/3500 isn't out yet. I'm curious where did the 2026 colour info came from?
  24. Are you waiting til the gauge is down to the last few segments before filling or do you 'keep it topped up'?
