  1. Lots of misinformation out there. (sometimes just people trying to wind you up...) You don't need to 'take it for drive to regen'. If it has trouble, it will give a 'keep driving message'. Most owners will never see a 'keep driving'. If a regen is interrupted, it will resume next trip. The 3.0 completes a regen in about 11 or 12 miles. (6.6 LML was about 30 miles; 6;6 L5P (2018) was about 20 miles) I've had 100's of interrupted regens on LML, L5P, LM2 and LZO) 15 years and I've had one keep driving and I think it was a glitch. On the L5P it came up a couple miles from an appointment I was going to. Figured I'd be seeing how 'keep driving' goes, but when I got back in the truck the message had already cleared.
  2. Yes, the never ending is it a GM or an Allison argument that doesn't matter anyway. When the 5/6 speed was designed and approved, Allison was a GM division -- so I guess it's a GM transmission too.
  3. I use rear pockets as a handle when using corner step to get into the bed. Do you have some of the moveable tie-down loops that can be installed where the plugs are on the inside walls of the box? When they were introduced, GM was giving a box of 4 with every truck, so sometimes they show up for re-sale. GM has them in accessories, about $100 for a set of four.
  4. Thanks for the correction! Is there an Allison fluid that is also recommended?
  5. That's seems to be where GM wants them to run 190 -200. Probably also why they use a different fluid than the 8 speed, which has a different fluid than the 6 speed. Mine does those temps winter or summer, lightly loaded or heavy. I does take longer to reach that temperature if lightly loaded in cool weather. Once it does get to that range it does not increase any more (winter or summer, lightly loaded or heavy). There must be a fair amount of bypass flow when the thermostat is 'closed'. 10 speed in a 3500 is a different transmission and uses a different fluid.
  6. Unless you're buying it for looks, save your money.
  7. If it gets 'blinded' by bright light it will kick out. Should also be a message that 'adaptive cruise is unavailable' (or similar) Same type of conditions that cause a driver grief --like driving towards sun when it is low in the sky or bright reflections from a building or another vehicle. it can be switched to regular cruise if the condition is expected to continue.
  8. For 2024 they were standard on some trims Silverado - ZR2, LTZ and HC Sierra - SLT and up
  9. I don't have the 2019 ratings handy (but they will be on the bottom of the doorpost on a 2019), but for a 1500, the 5th wheel tow rating will be less than the ball hitch rating. A buddy retired, bought a new 1500 and a 5th wheel that was intended for 1/2 ton trucks and headed to BC from the Great Lakes area. First thing the did when he got home was dump the 1500 and bought a 2500.
  10. Do you track fuel economy every fill? What fuel economy has it given for those 19,000km? Do you log all fuel used too? I find that fill to fill fuel economy can vary -- a lot. At the 40,000 km mark, mine is running 2.1% of fuel (a little more than my LM2, L5P and LML used) 29.1 mpg fuel, 1378 mpg def 29.1/1378x100%=2.1% It needs to be filled again soon. (last full bar and the 1/2 bar are all that are 'bright' on the gauge). It's been that way for a little while, but got the first def range warning last time out. I need to check my records, but I think it's gone further on this tank, so I'm guessing that percentage is going to be reduced a little. I'll try to remember to post after filling. Fwiw, if/when it gets to 'DEF empty, fill now', that's when the '500 miles to 65 speed limit starts'
  11. I wonder how OP made out? When it does get to empty, it starts a 500 mile (actual miles, to the def remaining estimator) countdown until it limits speed to 65 mph, then another timer to the next limit --iirc it's 55mph for 175 miles (or something like that) then the 5mph limiter. He said he had 550 miles to go. If the 86 til empty was correct he made it before the 65 mph limit started. If it decided it was empty one mile later, then he had 500 miles at 65 followed by 49 or 50 at 55 mph. I wanted to confirm how it worked, and wanted to know how much def I could add if it thought it was empty. So, I intentionally drove my '18 L5P to empty. (I've done this with a 3.0L too) The 500 mile countdown takes over the dic message area and cannot be cleared. They do countdown 1 mile for every mile driven. I ran about 60 miles watching/testing with the L5P. (only about 2 miles on the 3.0 to get to the metered bulk def location I use) They display 2 alternating screens. This is the 2018 Alternating with I thought I had, but can't find, pics during the countdown before it got refilled.
  12. Have a look at the 'emissions' warranty in the warranty booklet. How many miles on the 2022?
  13. Also, MQB and MQC are only used with the 3.0L. Presumably they include tuning for the lower rpm torque and HP curves of the 3.0L. @newdude are there 'hard part' differences too?
  14. Try posting video to youtube and posting a link to it
  15. My '23 LZO is a little over 30,000 miles. (had an LM2, but convinced myself I 'needed' the new dash/interior) If I need another truck tomorrow, it will be another LZO. Trying to convince the better half that she needs a Yukon with the LZO
  16. This has been around for since the 2024 model year This optional item is new for 2026 model year
  17. If the got the machining right, the 0W20 would be fine. The new engines, that they know have the issue corrected, are supposed to run 0W20 Maybe they know the plant with the machining issue(s) didn't produce parts for the engines assembled for Camaro?
  18. Welcome to internet forums. Kinda like sitting around with a group having a coffee or a beer....
  19. And if the truck needs/gets a new 6.2 under that program -- it will be on the the 0W20.
  20. GM calls for full synthetic gear lube.
  21. Have you talked to the supplier of the IOU upgrade?
  22. Did your phone get the update that came out after the date the op posted? If I read it correctly, CarPlay issues was one of the things it dealt with.
  23. Did you check the level after the had been run and then sat overnight (or at least for a few hours) Dmax is notorious for taking a long time to drain down.
